  • www.xviveaudio.com/echoman-p00... The Echoman, designed by guitar effects guru Howard Davis, is a simplified monaural version of the Memory Analog Delay. It is a state-of-the-art design based on Davis’s highly successful Deluxe Memory Man, acknowledged as among the best if not THE best analog delay pedal.
    Up to 600 msec of delay time with no aliasing distortion. Buffered bypass with a 900K input impedance guarantees no tone sucking (loss of highs) due to pickup loading. Wide bandwidth - good high frequency response even at long delay settings. Feedback control allows self-oscillation if desired. Blend control allows adjusting the output from dry signal only to delayed signal only. High-tech filtering and noise reduction circuitry guarantee an excellent signal to noise ratio, even at long delay setting

    Seems like a versatile and musical pedal. The vibrato setting is a nice twist. And, no apparent volume loss when switched on. Nice job, as always!

    It's an amazing pedal. You do a good job at showing what it can do. It was an impulse buy when I got it last year and I've been very happy with it.

      @@popintothechemist Im hunting for an analog delay but this one seems so close price wise to the DOD Rubberneck which features tons of options! I do like this one but then I do love to have options under my fingers.

    Hey Mike - always a pleasure to see your demos. I’m trying to downsize my board and need a replacement for my big box Deluxe Memory Man. Wondering what your thoughts were on this pedal vs the Panther Cub V2.

      Austin Oltman, same here. I think I'm finally ready to move on from the DMM's very warm but a little muddy low input impedance at 100 K. Been using it as an always on pedal for the past 20 years.

    Hi MIke. How does this compare to the Brigadier? I have the Brigadier, but looking to save some pedalboard real estate. Thanks for any feedback you can provided. Take care. Happy New Years to you and yours.

    Hey Mike, awesome playing as usual, what gets me is your efficiency of movement, almost like a magic trick. I digress.
    I see that it is buffered bypass. What effect did you perceive it having if any on your core tone. Also being a MN3005 based pedal I wonder if it can be run at like 15v or if there is some internal voltage increase in the pedal. Thanks! And any chance we could get shots of you playing that is more looking at you directly in front as opposed to the 'down the neck' shot. I love to see what your doing.

    • @fischermao3732
      @fischermao3732 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To Get Great headroom there is an internal voltage increase in the pedal, which means apply standard 9voltage adaptor but you can get 18V/15v headroom. hope this can help

    Great demo, Mike. Unfortunately, it's sold out at their website. There's a few on Ebay for $148 and up. I'm not entirely sure if that's what they were charging on their website for it. They're not listing a price. I haven't seen it on Reverb, yet.

    Is this genuine BBD analog technic or another "emulated analog" pedal?
    Great presentation as usual Mike!
    Edit:
    I found out it's a real analog circuit based on a MN3005 BBD chip.

      @@popintothechemist NOS?

    • @TheNocturnalEvil
      @TheNocturnalEvil 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a genuine bucket brigade delay but instead of NOS Panasonic MN3005 bucket brigade chips it uses cheaper XVive MN3005 bucket brigade chips. The new XVive MN3005 bucket brigade chips have this tendency to roll off the high end with each successive repeats.

    • @strong-cup-o-coffee
      @strong-cup-o-coffee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      TheNocturnalEvil Apparently Xvive and Howard Davis reverse engineered these chips based on chips used in vintage DMM units and, even more surprising, these Xvive chips are the very same ones CBA used the Tonal Recall.

    • @TheNocturnalEvil
      @TheNocturnalEvil 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@strong-cup-o-coffee That explains why the Chase Bliss Tonal Recall sounds so dark.
      Sounds like they either they didn't clone the old MN3005 accurately or this tonal variation was intentional.
      Compared to old big box EHX Memory Man pedals this pedal and Tonal Recall sound a lot darker.

    • @jasonlopez8410
      @jasonlopez8410 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, a tap tempo would require the use of digital components to make it work. So a lot of analog purists won’t use one because of that slight compromise of signal integrity
