Ridged forehead Klingons? Mr. Cawley claims to love and respect TOS, yet he starts changing it around to suit his whims the first chance he gets. Thanks, but no thanks.""]]
I just tried to reply, but it wouldn't take it ((""Comment failed to post."" LOL!!)) - not sure if it was the links in my reply - or, if, instead, one of the Klingon-language words in my response was deemed a cussword in the GMail/Google/TH-cam filers, so here's the short answer, and I'll try to follow up with a more-detailed answer: Our race (I'm part Klingon) got infected by a virus, and some of our people lost their ridges, as it affected the genetics of those infected, and it was inherited by their children. etc. - OK, let me see if this thing will let me post a more-detailed answer...
Our race (I'm part Klingon) had a virus that infected us, and some of us are not ridged, as the saying goes. The Klingon augment virus was a modified form of Levodian flu that threatened to wipe out the Klingon race in the mid-22nd century. It was inadvertently created by Klingon researchers who were attempting to bio-engineer enhanced warriors using DNA from genetically-modified Human embryos left over from Earth's Eugenics Wars. The "Augments" (e.g., several Augment embryos which we from a hijacked Bird-of-Prey destroyed in orbit of Qu'Vat colony ), which we created, did indeed develop enhanced strength and intelligence, but they also began to show Human characteristics, from the blatant to the subtle. These included personality alterations and loss of the characteristic forehead ridges.

Vic Mignogna and Michele Specht are my new favorite actors. Finding you guys in this has made my day. Keep up the great work you two.
I'm very happy to see how Star Trek inspires people like you to keep the legacy alive and burning bright.
These are great, true Trekkers will love and appreciate it. Shucks I'm oldish LOL I've been a fan since the beginning and these, though literally brand new to me, take me right back to Kirk and his crew from the original early 1970s series. Good stuff.
Without that pilot series to sort of prep us for the giant budgeted space films of today that we now get from Hollywood, I honestly think "space" as an entertainment platform might not have 'took quite like it did'. We have a lot to be thankful for us Trekkies and Star Wars fans alike.
May Peace and Prosperity come to all who are true of heart.
(y) I agree., George Thanks for the trip down memory lane
My first time seeing this. I'm amazed at how accurately the bridge has been produced. Excellent job also with the classic background music and sound clips. Interesting how in some scenes small tidbits from the original series are done, like Chekov repeatedly punching a big Klingon in the gut with no effect (as in "The Trouble with Tribbles) and Kirk's shirt being cut open by a blade (as in Amok time). A Star Trek movie tidbit at 57:37 was Kirk being picked up from the collar by a Klingon (ST-III Search for Spock). Also so neat seeing Gil Gerard "Buck Rogers" in his role as the Admiral. Regardless of the critcs, this was WELL DONE with creative and talented pros!
An excellent episode. James Cawley and team really know how to bring back the feel of original Trek.
Vic Mignogna and Michele Specht have a wonderful rapport in this!
I Love this Work of Art!
STC? You mean Star Trek: Continues? If there was any discord (I hope there as not), I was not aware of it. But, all of us being human - and ESPECIALLY the various fan films (New Voyages, Continues, etc.) being unpaid, all make things difficult at times. -- I, for one, wish all parties that best.
I love this show ! A perfect mix of all the shows. I want more!
Excellent!! Loved the ship's play joke! Thanks!!
Thank you for the kind words, Glenn. -- What was the joke you liked, if I may ask. (I think they tried to squeeze in lots of humour, here & there.) Thx.
"Oh, did you play Ka Les in the ship's play Spok?"
You all did an absolutely amazing job with all that you have done!!!
I enjoy watching so much!!
Thank you!
Vic Mignogna is one bad ass Klingon !!! Loved this show!As a Star Trek fan since the early 70s, I commend you all !
Well Done ! I enjoyed watching it. Thank you.
The bad wigs are killing me!!! haha
im impressed, for the 1st time. good set up, grate grafix
as a Star Trek fan speaking , this was really well made ! , very nice , keep on the good work !
This is the first episode of Phase II I have watched and I am so impressed! I will definitely be watching more.
Great job guys!! Very impressed...the old series still has the STUFF!!!
Excellent, all of it. the acting, sets, s"special effects" etc. it was great. I hope somebody with money finds these people and funds them to continue as long as they want to do it. But i also would hope that nobody messes with their own way of doing things. They have the right recipe. There is a certain freshness about the way these people do things that makes it that much better. its like the difference between home made cookies and store bought ones wrapped in plastic and filled with preservatives. i'll take the home made ones any day.
+Miles Beam - HA hah!! "home made cookies" vs. "store bought ones" - That all reminds me of a sign I once saw - that goes a little somethin' like this: "Apple Pie like Grandma made: 50-cents -- Apple Pie like Grandma *tried* to make, but couldn't: $1.oo" - !! HA hah! (Except, of course, grandma got the last word in your comment, above.) Thx 4 posting. Anyhow, while I hear that the New Voyages production has shut down (these actors have lives to live, and subsided only on donations, as per copyright restrictions on making monies LOL :( ), ...we don't blame them for getting on with their lives. Perhaps, in the future, we will all be able to do more. Nonetheless, their work lives on in reruns here on the Internet. :) (y)
Boy were the sets, costumes, effects terrific. Acting was decent. This was so good.
AWESOME !!!! AWESOME !!!! AWESOME !!!!
Gil Gerard and Andrew Probert in the same episode? That's a lot of awesome all in one place -- lucky for us it didn't cause a rip in the Time-Space-Awesomeness continuum.
This is one of the BEST episodes of any of the fan-made Star Trek shows!
What a great episode! Talk about ambitious! I am sad to see Mr. Cawley go but I am delighted to have shared his journeys so far. There are some moments that I wish they had had time to polish further but given the nature of the enterprise (sorry), it really doesn't matter. Every episode has been a winner and this one has been worth the wait. I always used to think that TOS could not be done without Shatner et al. I was wrong. A couple lines here and there were brilliant. Acting continues to improve. The design was great and the visuals, particularly this time, were simply incredible. A true labor of love and it shows. Thanks, everyone, for a terrific effort. I love these shows!!!!!
27:47 Uhura knows all the weapons!
Great job, this IS Star Trek. I've enjoyed this more than the "rebooted" trek.
Amen, Antwon! - I agree - Notable to that effect is that in some episodes, "original" actors reprise their parts, such as Episode 4.02: "To Serve All My Days" (Starring Walter Koenig as Chekov) and Episode 4.03: "World Enough And Time" (Starring Grace Lee Whitney, Yeoman Rand of the original series, and George Takei as Sulu). Time travel and aging diseases explain why they 'look' older. My fav episode of all time, however, is Episode 4.01: "In Harms Way" (starring William Windom, who starred in Star Trek - The Original Series, Episode 2.06 (Ep.#35), "The Doomsday Machine," and reprises his role as Commodore Decker).
I wouldn’t have recognized Buck Rogers (Gil Gerard) as the Admiral if it wasn’t pointed out for me. But it’s good to know he was still in the game. 👍🏾
Of the several fan-made "extensions" of Star Trek's original series, this is the second best of them. Star Trek Continues most accurately captures the look and feel of the original. The setwork is impeccable, the lighting, perfect. Any other fan-made project crew could stand to learn from the Continues production crew. I suggest that you will stand to gain more by choosing actors for their acting ability rather than their resemblance to the original cast. Get a cast that can act, and they'll make a show that captures the essence of the original. The faces are secondary, the actions and interactions of the characters, primary.
Agree, the productions reached the point where acting and directing were the main detractors. Will we ever see these productions again? The Woke studios tried to kill these off with their lawyers. At first I thought it was because the fan films can't be better than the official production. But after what we have seen with the socio-racial agendas of the studios, I think the circumscription of fan films is more to kill the 20th Century utopic vision of Star Trek as a place that includes Western men.
@@barron8006 We are more Klingon that we suppose! As with the Katumba, we seek the path of honor.
the one admiral is Gil Gerrard (Buck Rogers) from Battle Star Galactica talking face to face with Kirk lol
The Klingon Bird of Prey has to be one of my favorite ships in all of sci-fi
I LOVE IT THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
LOL, did anyone hear the infamous Howard Dean 'Yeaah!" yell at 57:17? Now that was funny and creative!
Gil!! Buck Rogers himself. God I loved that show and the actors back in the day. Still love it now. Miss it.,
He's a great actor, and nailed the part, here, but I am not able to get over how much he's changed down through the years. Am I the only one who feels this way, I wonder?
He actually looks good here. he used to weigh a lot more.
I didn't know that; thx 4 sharing, Daehawk. In any event, it's good Trek, like we know it.
The New Voyages people are having way too much fun making episodes, without me. It makes my ridges itch.
Excellent episode in the style and quality of the original Star Trek.
Excellent episode.
Just before Kirk is transported to the Scared Planet of the Klingons, for just a second, Spock looked rather irritated at Bones. LOL He does, after all, have a bit of human blood in him.
bring on some more please!!! very close to original acting is great im a trekkie from hell lmao 45 yrs now!!! love my soap opera in space
Torn shirt Kirk! Great story!
although the Klingon's acting is on point . Great acting ......THUMBS UP for the klingons
its wonderful, because we would be watching reruns!
One of my teenage heroes, Gil Gerard aka Captain William 'Buck' Rogers.
Tuff..Stuff Great work!!!!
53:48 I was waiting to hear Kargh say "Asshole" when he walk towards the Turbolift after Kirk say ".....looks pretty compfortable in your Chair!"
I like "Kitumba" from Phase II, and "Come Not Between Dragons" from Star Trek Continues. Those are my favorites.
Ah, Gil.
I sure do wish they'd have made more Buck Rogers episodes.
That, along with Battlestar Galactica, Six Million Dollar Man, Trek reruns and of course the Krofft Supershow (!) made up a great part of my childhood tv imagination.
Doctor Shrinker, anyone?
Chalwa or even Space 1999.
Its well written at any rate.
this is so well written :-)
Well done!
Awesome!
57:16 I hear that infamous Howard Dean scream from the 2004 elections. "Were taking back Washington! YAAAHHH!"
the ship’s physician is chief strategic counsel during attack. right.
Best fanmade ever xD
The guy you have playing the younger Vulcan Xon looks exactly like David Gautreaux from the 1970's Phase II pictures of him.
"Would you like a cloak to go with that dagger?" #😂
Where was Kirk's signature "fighting moves" (e.g. ear slap, double fist, etc)?
Klingon transmitions in the Klingon system !? no wayyyy
Hah. I love the reference to Star Trek 2009! "I haven't seen driving that bad since I stole a Corvette as a kid!"
Also, Vic Mignogna stole the show, in my opinion. He makes an excellent Klingon!
It appears that this episode took place prior to fitness and weight requirements were implemented.
that was cool. Thank you
And the Star Trek Discovery fans say you can't show TOS style sets and make good stories. Uhm.... Then why is this better than the first 3 episodes of the new series?
Gene Roddenberry would be proud
OMG is that Vic Mignogna playing the Klingon bad guy?!?!?!?!
Yep - doesn't look anything like his StarTrekCONTINUES character, does it? The wonders of makeup artists. And, like most or all actors in the various fan films, I think he's a good actor: "Vic Mignogn (plays) Malkthon" per: www.imdb.com/title/tt1465331/fullcredits
Well Fucking Done!!! i was Riveted. Holy Crap
+TheJudgeraye thx. See my most recent vid, The Holiest Thing, which was just now released: Channel: th-cam.com/users/GordonWayneWatts Video in question: th-cam.com/video/zJx7zJIBibc/w-d-xo.html - I'd click both links, as the 'Thumbnail preview' image is visible in a list of my videos - and it's pretty cool looking if I don't say so myself!
Am I crazy, or was there another version of this episode whose description stated that it explored "what the Klingons were originally envisioned to be?"
I distinctly remembering that this offered a glimpse into the Klingons which stated that the Klingons were not the name of the race itself, but rather referred specifically to the ruling class.
Am I imagining all of that? I also didn't remember the augment virus references.
Not sure - sometimes an episode is updated. You might email Peter, the webmaster of the German mirror, or others. (Or look on the Internet & Google.) Thx 4 the interest, here! (y)
Except for the reference to the JJ verse "stealing a Corvette" it was very good.
The reason us true Trekkers watch this is to avoid the commercial crap that Nu Trek has become so please keep the timelines separate.
Why did he kill the lead baddy at the end after saying he would allow him to live?
Vic Mignogna and Michelle Specht both Klingon's in this episode!!!! OMG lol
The actor who played the Kitumba, did he appear as a rather young Klingon representing the House of Durass in on of the Star Trek spin offs? He seems very familiar.
oh my that was the greatest knockout ever , I mean ok I can buy the Vulcan death grip thing , but who knew we humans had one also !! just a hammer fist to the back of the shoulder !!
Is the actor playing Dr. McCoy related to DeForest Kelly?? Or is that just a coincidence?
I am told that this is a stage name, to honour the late actor by that last name. He's really a doctor, but wants to remain anonymous and uses this stage name, I recall from our forums. So, not a coincidence, but also not his real last name.
GordonWayneWatts thx
This is far better than anything Trek today. LeftTrek movies were awful. Leftscovery is awful. Leftard is awful.
Wait... Malkthons ridges are clearly those of the House of Duras, and he is called as such in the end.... But Kalis ridges look like those of the House of Mogh..... I'm surprised to see these two houses cooperate once...
And it's nice to see Kruge/Kluge there in the bar.... No wonder he's so pissed at Kirk later on.... xD
55:30 Kirk stole a Corvette as a kid?! Lmao
Where is James Cawley and what has he been up to lately??
Great sets, soundtracks & props from the Original series,...However Id enjoy it more if they didn't try to imitate old actors & stories.....You've given us new actors,..how about new stories.
end this before it's start!
Ridged forehead Klingons? Mr. Cawley claims to love and respect TOS, yet he starts changing it around to suit his whims the first chance he gets. Thanks, but no thanks.
Captain acting skills are good to match the original Jim.
The General Staff need some PT
wouldn't it be bride to captain , not captain to the bridge, unless he was asking for captain to report to the bridge, which wasn't altho eventualy he did go to the bridge ...
Ah, at 15:30 Scotty says just that! Good catch, Michael... I think they were simply caught flat-footed = blooper, he heh.
Wait: Scotty really meant: "Captain... [please some] to the bridge." (Or so I think." I.e., it's not "I'm the captain, calling to the bridge, as it 1st seemed.)
Is the Klingon on the Enterprise supposed to be Gorkon?
The Klingon should look like original Klingons did in the original series. This one looks like it from Next Generation, not consistent with the original show. I still like it though.
The only reason they looked like they did during The Original Series was budgetary. Later in the franchise, Enterprise explained that the Klingons we saw during TOS were the product of experiments with augments. In other words, this IS consistent with Star Trek cannon.
MiniKirk I got it. Yeah Kirk did say at the beginning of this episode when asked if he'd seen a Klingon before, that he'd only seen Klingons that had been genetically modified. Thanks.
:) No problem.
Boa tarde acabei de me inscrever no seu canal gostei muito parabéns
I love to watch klingons with Cher hairdos, and the gay Chekov: superb!
This Kirk is NOT Vic Mignogna
Spock is out of character in this one, so is Kirk. The real Spock wold have digested an alternative to killing a one man vessel. Kirk would have kicked the Klingon off his bridge.
They would have solved the problem by beaming the pilot aboard and then destroying the empty vessel.
This story is based off of John Meredyth Lucas's plot for the what was supposed to be "Phase II" - after TOS. Patty Wright (who did the screenplay) has written a lot of Star Trek stuff. So it's not just some "fan written" episode - - I think they were pretty careful to try and keep everyone in character.
I do think Spock would have tried to have an alternative to killing - - but he didn't really have a lot of choices here. Spock HAS killed before - out of absolute necessity.
I like it... wow!
Is it me or is Michelle Specht even hotter as a Klingon!?!
39:08 Christopher Lloyd/ Kruge?lol
I'm not quite sure - you might look at the credits, or even email the company that puts this out. :)
It looked like Kruge
enough of the arguing... IT'S GOOD!!!
Amen!
12:40 MURDER!
Must be Klingons got a dentist!!!
Excellant episodes just small idiosyncrasies
Starr great the cchild
very well done....but horrible acting
That's part of the fun. I love these episodes. They are not perfectly polished Hollywood blockbusters, but they are still a lot better than about 90% of what is on television these days.
Better acting than any so called 'block buster' these days IMO,I think they captured the spirit of Trek nicely, right down to the dialogue.
Yep, most of the acting is bad (guy that plays Kirk), but the acting of the guest characters is pretty good. BTW, why is Kirk a brunette?
Yes very flat and lifeless. It's like watching stand in's acting.
domjal - Oh, please.
That guy playing spock is great but the guy playing Kirk sucks
Wow. These new adventures are truly terrible. No wonder CBS wanted this crap shut down. Who blackmailed poor old Gil to do this crap? Why is Kirk so confrontational? Has the writing staff never seen Kirk? You know what would have made this better? If Gil had bionic sound effects when he moved.
The sets look good. The costumes and make up are authentic. The special effects are also quite good, but the cast are just wrong. Their poor performances let this down.
While I like James Cawley, (and they really got the look/lighting down,..)
the *Bad Acting* is Turning me Off..
KIRKS trying to hard to be tough . terrible acting
This show really got shity the long time ago I should have
quit watching way before
Why do the Klingon weapons sound like Cylon raiders from the original show?
