This is such a new feeling for me as a Patriots fan. I never gave a crap about the draft. Now I understand why Fan gets so excited about it. I have been watching videos on the top three quarterbacks every day for like the past two months. It’s addicting lol. For the past 22 years, I never cared about the draft at all.

It was hard to get excited for the draft when Bill was drafting guards in the first round from some school you never heard of or two kickers or another offensive weapon draft bust. I love Bill the coach but as a GM not so much.

It's different levels as a fan. I played sports my whole life, not football, so my fandom has been a way to satisfy my brain with something I enjoy doing already. Analyzing tactics, scouting, roster building, and all the stuff they do behind the scenes is part of what I enjoy with sports in general.
I welcome you all to the obsession now that you have a reason to be interested yourselves. It isn't even about being right or wrong in terms of predicting picks it just helps you separate the positions from the results and understand the small things that make a WR/QB/whoever "good".
On that topic for all the good Mac did with his arm he was never going to overcome his lack of fundamental footwork that pocket QBs need, and our scouts missed that in the draft.

Great coaches at all sports have an innate ability to force an athlete to dig down deep and commit mentally physically and emotionally to perform at the peak of their skill level . They will risk alienating athletes to acheive their objectives. Belichick seems to be the master of being obtuse to motivate his players. At the end of many athletes career, many will reflect and say," That Coach drew out the best one had to give in their respective athletic endeavor.Having been fortunate to witness and vividly recall the first great Super Bowl dynasty in the 60s, Vince Lombardi had those same innate skills. Certainly he is deserving of being the namesake on the SB trophy. Coach Belichick's duration of excellence is what is so fascinating and surreal. Great work on this documentary. Drew was an above-average, good QB, but he was NOT a QB who could carry a team.
When he had Curtis Matin at running back, Drew didn't have to carry the team. Martins 23 TDs made Defenses play for the run game rather than blitz Drew. That took pressure off Drew and he threw 24 TD and got to the Super Bowl.
When Martin left for the Jets with Parcells, Drew had no running back to force defense to play for the running game and his output fell, 19 TD to 21 interceptions in the first year post Martin, and 17 TDs in the second year.
When Bill arrives in year 3 after Martin's departure, Drew was declining. He couldn't keep the team in the game without a good running back, and he didn't have one.
Teams need balance, and NE had none after Martin left. That was more the HC fault, but Drew and the Offensive Coordinator needed to shift Drews game to a 3-step fast release to stop the blitz, and they didn't.

BB had no loyalty for Bledsoe, can't blame him for behing unhappy at being usurped. BB was never graceful, and despite nearly dying from his on-field injury, and despite Brady's weak arm (yes weak - he was one of the few QB's who's arm got stronger as his career went on), I don't think BB ever showed Drew any genuine recognition for the player he was. Look at career stats of Bledsoe and HOF'er Elway - they are very similar.

Bradys arm wasn't weak. Even in scouting reports the gave him average to above average arm strength very accurate and despite not the strongest of arms could still make every throw on the field get your facts straight bruh. Watch Lloyd Carr interview at Michigan Brady had a good arm. Not great. Not a cannon. But good enough. And yes you're right it got stronger as his career went dude was posting videos in off-season at 43 yrs old showing velocity at same speed of Mahomes velocity around 66 67 mph and throws to wr in drills where ball traveled 60 plus yds in air so no armstrength was a misnomer. Dude worked tirelessly to improve any weakness he had and even his best attributes his knowledge n mind n feel for the game by studying endless days upon days of film.

"The greatest dynasty, especially over a compressed period, in the history of American sports.".??? Is this man really this ignorant?? That's not even true of BOSTON sports history! Is he unaware that the Celtics won 11 NBA titles in 13 seasons from 1957-1969? As for a longer time period, the hated New York Yankees won 20 World Series titles in a 40-year period from 1923-1962. What the Patriots did is amazing, winning 33% of the Super Bowls in an 18-year period, and playing in 50% of them. But those Celtics won a lot more titles in less time, and the Yankees won 50% of the World Series over 40 years (and played in 66% of them from 1921-1964). No need to make outlandish statements that are simply not true.

I have NO IDEA where things would have gone after that, but I'm certain Bledsoe beats the living CRAP out of the Rams and the Super Bowl had he got the start.
People forget the offensive line only came togather as the unit it would be around week ten.
Drew NEVER saw that kind of protection in his entire career in New England.
The idea of Drew was cooked is RIDICULOUS.
