Under the new rule AR-15 uppers will not be required to be serialized. The rule grandfathers in prior ATF determinations that the lower receiver only needs to be serialized. The rule also includes diagrams and pictures indicating that. However, future firearm designs could require multiple serial numbers.
Make it really difficult for them, serialise them in binary, encrypted by a key stamped somewhere hidden very well in an undisclosed location on the gun. You're not breaking the law just because you make their job hard work.
Imagine listening to the government though. 😅 If they want to ban handguns, might as well ignore all restrictions at this point. Our 2nd amendment has been raped enough.

Besides that, UK's knife crime is crazy high. I have been in law enforcement for nearly 15 years, and I have never heard of a firearm being found at the scene of a crime, where the perpetrator was caught because the firearm had a series of letters and/ or numbers engraved into it. Crimes involving shots fired are solved by being caught with the gun, and witness testimony. The only thing a serial number tells local law enforcement is if the gun was stolen. If it wasn't reported stolen, it sits in a property room until trial, or for 30- 60 days until it is destroyed. In some cases a detective might contact ATF to see if they could trace it back to the original FFL dealer. Why would local police pursue a TRACE on a firearm that wasn't reported stolen yet. Some police departments feel that a recovered firearm is "off the streets", and it is not the responsibility of the police department to notify the rightful owner that his gun was recovered. Only to run the risk of the owner not realizing his gun is missing again. A chunk of plastic or metal is NOT a firearm until it can fire a cartridge. Therefore the ATF has zero authority to call something that is mechanically NOT a firearm..... an actual firearm. This move by the Biden administration will not withstand constitutional scrutiny!

I now an ex Vietnam veteran that came back home after the war, and worked as a street cop in Detroit (this was in the 70's), and this man was a tunnel rat for the Army. He would get kicked out of a helicopter, and his escort would tell him, "if your captured, we don't know you" (they had to cross into Cambodia and Laos which was a violation of the Geneva Conventions). This dude has seen and done some pretty bad ass stuff, but he said working as a cop in Detroit was the icing on the cake. He never tried to be a cop again after a few months on the force in D-Town. Try Canada. I've been waiting for over a year. First the classes were full for like 5 months in a row, then I had to wait a month to get my passed-class paper mailed to me, then had to apply for a loicense with the mounties and been waiting for over half a year for them to review application.

It's heartbreaking when I get recommended coverage of violent crimes. I've been suggested a few about victims who were able to defend themselves with a firearm. When you know it's their firearm ringing out, I feel relief. You know they're gonna be okay, an innocent life isn't lost. The friends and relatives of the criminal are their victims as well. Whatever reason they had to go out and end a life was no good one.
I think that if he wants to ban the parts, he should first show how "easy" it is to build one of these "ghost" guns, by attempting to put one together from parts. With no instructions. Itd be hilarious to watch.

Brandon, I live in Romania, the most gun controlled country in Europe (which I'm sure you know, is quite saying something) You have been one of the people who opened my eyes on the importance of firearm ownership and self defense rights for average citizens. Now, with the Ukraine war being a mere four hour drive away from where I live and us still having absolutely no gun rights, I feel the need for those rights more than ever. And I have decided that after I finish my studies, I'll try to emigrate to America, preferably Texas, Arizona or any other sane state I know you're already doing this, Brandon, but I beg of you: Do not let the other Brandon take away your rights. As a 20 year old it is very disappointing to see how my country treats myself and others in the 18-20 age group. The leaders of the country I love think I am old enough to vote in major politics, but not old enough to buy a drink. That I am old enough to die in a war that's been going on longer than my life , but not old enough to purchase or carry a firearm to protect my life and the lives of my loved ones. That I'm old enough to go into serious debt for a college degree ,but not old enough to get a hotel for a night so I don't have to sleep in my car alone on a road trip. (Deadass I had to sleep in a Walmart parking lot in Memphis on a trip from Florida to Kansas, pretty inconvenient time to find out I had to be 21 for a room.) At 18 were told our voice matters and our vote counts but we are not treated like the adults they expect us to be until 21. They already started working around this problem. What good are firearms if you can't buy the ammo? This is the reason I started loading my own ammo. And now, at this point in time, primers are impossible to get. Which means once my stockpile of primers is depleted I'll have to start making those myself.

There’s been an increase of these guns being recovered from crime scenes for one reason . They changed the way they report these types of weapons. If the serial number has been removed from a gun and recovered at a crime scene they count that as a ghost gun or an 80%. This is the only reason we’ve seen an increase of these guns being recovered at crimes.
Also how much they have been blasting it all over the place in the last year!!!!80% have been around for awhile now and yes there is a large market for it now but they haven’t been doing anything but advertising for them!! They will make whole news reports explains where to buy them, where to learn about how to build them, how to troubleshoot them!!! They are advertising to the whole world how a criminal can get them in their hands, step by step! They want the wrong people to have them so they can push more and more gun control
I'm from Canada, firearms have always been a big part of my life. Talking about a death of a million pin pricks is a great way to recap how gun control regulation here has crept up, besides the 2012 exception (when stephen harper repealed the long gun registry.) I know gun owners in Canada are still fighting for the shreds of rights (or privileges as the government would rather call them) we still have left. I signed up for YAL at my school campus, and even the campus email system is censoring them saying the sender is "unsafe". I think the issue of this upper and lower confusion started gaining momentum when Safety Harbor firearms and other manufacturers started making the 50 bmg uppers. It wasn't long after hitting the market that these manufacturers started receiving notices that the uppers were now required to be regulated and sent to FFL dealers. Where as before, you could buy one of these uppers and have it delivered to your home just like any other AR upper. There was much outrage and confusion because these 50 bmg uppers are considered firearms but, in order to function, they need to be attached to an AR lower which is also a firearm. That means these things have 2 serial numbers. The whole thing is stupid. I agree reclassification of the upper will help but only marginally. Thr real issue isn't the ignorance of the functions of firearms and the classification of their components. The real issue is those making these calls and changes don't want us to have guns, period.

This May I will officially finish my first year as a gunsmithing student at Pine Technical and Community College. So far I have taken machining fundamentals, nearly failed CAD, launched a Mauser firing pin directly into the ceiling tile, and accidentally turned a Remington 7400 into a full auto rifle. Sadly my instructor made me fix that last one. It is my goal to open my own shop, make my own 80% lowers and give a big middle finger to anyone who wants to take away our constitutional freedom. Repeal the NFA, abolish the ATF and let us be free again

Under the new rule AR-15 uppers will not be required to be serialized. The rule grandfathers in prior ATF determinations that the lower receiver only needs to be serialized. The rule also includes diagrams and pictures indicating that. However, future firearm designs could require multiple serial numbers.
Make it really difficult for them, serialise them in binary, encrypted by a key stamped somewhere hidden very well in an undisclosed location on the gun.
You're not breaking the law just because you make their job hard work.

Quick note on buying/owning a cannon. YES YOU CAN, live around 40 min drive from South Bend Cannon Co. They sell and refurbish cannons for museums and public use. Check them out, even have catalog of their products.
I have been in law enforcement for nearly 15 years, and I have never heard of a firearm being found at the scene of a crime, where the perpetrator was caught because the firearm had a series of letters and/ or numbers engraved into it. Crimes involving shots fired are solved by being caught with the gun, and witness testimony. The only thing a serial number tells local law enforcement is if the gun was stolen. If it wasn't reported stolen, it sits in a property room until trial, or for 30- 60 days until it is destroyed. In some cases a detective might contact ATF to see if they could trace it back to the original FFL dealer. Why would local police pursue a TRACE on a firearm that wasn't reported stolen yet. Some police departments feel that a recovered firearm is "off the streets", and it is not the responsibility of the police department to notify the rightful owner that his gun was recovered. Only to run the risk of the owner not realizing his gun is missing again.
A chunk of plastic or metal is NOT a firearm until it can fire a cartridge. Therefore the ATF has zero authority to call something that is mechanically NOT a firearm..... an actual firearm. This move by the Biden administration will not withstand constitutional scrutiny!

I now an ex Vietnam veteran that came back home after the war, and worked as a street cop in Detroit (this was in the 70's), and this man was a tunnel rat for the Army. He would get kicked out of a helicopter, and his escort would tell him, "if your captured, we don't know you" (they had to cross into Cambodia and Laos which was a violation of the Geneva Conventions). This dude has seen and done some pretty bad ass stuff, but he said working as a cop in Detroit was the icing on the cake. He never tried to be a cop again after a few months on the force in D-Town. Try Canada. I've been waiting for over a year. First the classes were full for like 5 months in a row, then I had to wait a month to get my passed-class paper mailed to me, then had to apply for a loicense with the mounties and been waiting for over half a year for them to review application.

It's heartbreaking when I get recommended coverage of violent crimes. I've been suggested a few about victims who were able to defend themselves with a firearm. When you know it's their firearm ringing out, I feel relief. You know they're gonna be okay, an innocent life isn't lost. The friends and relatives of the criminal are their victims as well. Whatever reason they had to go out and end a life was no good one.

As a 20 year old it is very disappointing to see how my country treats myself and others in the 18-20 age group. The leaders of the country I love think I am old enough to vote in major politics, but not old enough to buy a drink. That I am old enough to die in a war that's been going on longer than my life , but not old enough to purchase or carry a firearm to protect my life and the lives of my loved ones. That I'm old enough to go into serious debt for a college degree ,but not old enough to get a hotel for a night so I don't have to sleep in my car alone on a road trip. (Deadass I had to sleep in a Walmart parking lot in Memphis on a trip from Florida to Kansas, pretty inconvenient time to find out I had to be 21 for a room.) At 18 were told our voice matters and our vote counts but we are not treated like the adults they expect us to be until 21. Please hold the line for the younger generations we aren't all tide pod eaters.

There’s been an increase of these guns being recovered from crime scenes for one reason .
They changed the way they report these types of weapons.
If the serial number has been removed from a gun and recovered at a crime scene they count that as a ghost gun or an 80%. This is the only reason we’ve seen an increase of these guns being recovered at crimes.
Also how much they have been blasting it all over the place in the last year!!!!80% have been around for awhile now and yes there is a large market for it now but they haven’t been doing anything but advertising for them!! They will make whole news reports explains where to buy them, where to learn about how to build them, how to troubleshoot them!!! The second amendment didn't say law abiding people anywhere
Reclassify "upper receiver" as "bolt carrier group housing". There, the AR no longer has a split receiver.
I think the issue of this upper and lower confusion started gaining momentum when Safety Harbor firearms and other manufacturers started making the 50 bmg uppers. It wasn't long after hitting the market that these manufacturers started receiving notices that the uppers were now required to be regulated and sent to FFL dealers. Where as before, you could buy one of these uppers and have it delivered to your home just like any other AR upper. There was much outrage and confusion because these 50 bmg uppers are considered firearms but, in order to function, they need to be attached to an AR lower which is also a firearm. That means these things have 2 serial numbers. The whole thing is stupid. I agree reclassification of the upper will help but only marginally. Thr real issue isn't the ignorance of the functions of firearms and the classification of their components. The real issue is those making these calls and changes don't want us to have guns, period.

I 100% agree I just got my first gun the other week and the red tape a law abiding citizen has to go through is crazy.
As someone with experience as an Army officer, I know it is a legal duty to disobey an unlawful order. Something to consider if the National Guard is weaponized by tyrannical politicians against their people.

For real though I have relatives who are huge 2A fans, and then there's my parents and sibling who are not. So at family reunions when the gun control topic came up I used a lot of what I learned from your video's to argue what I know about the second amendment and what I think it means. I don't think I've ever seen my extended family look so shocked and proud at the same time as my parents looking so annoyed.
Seriously though I learn a lot here and I enjoy your content, keep up the amazing work.

@Joël a mass shooting in America is 4 or more people. And in Norway a man killed 5 people and injured 3 with a bow and arrow and the police had no way to stop him for 30 minutes straight. A fucking bow and arrow.
British people are weak individuals that would roll into the fetal position before ever defending themselves. Even as an adult in these countries, you move out of your parents house just to be subject to a mommy and daddy government. America isn't even in the top 20 countries for mass killings. The only difference is we're allowed to defend ourselves. Your weak government thinks your citizens are too pitiful to take care of themselves.

The only natrual enemy of NATO is Russia, which NATO could fend off without the help of the US. The only other enemy is China, which is only an enemy because the US is a part of NATO. As a Brazilian, we use a comparison of homicides by gunfire and gun control laws, in Brazil is possible to own a gun, but it is extremely hard AND expensive as fuck to buy one (not to mension the monopoly of Taurus and their crappy/cursed knock-offs) and yet we have around 3x more homicides by gunfire here compared to the US... yeah, who would've guessed?
Also, there was a polling around the 2000s to ask the population if we would like to have our right to have a gun taken from us, the answer was no but they did it anyway (well, they couldn't do it so they made the process much more burocratic and injected a shit ton of taxes, so they won anyway)
So turns out politicians do lie to us and do what ever they want, regardless of their side, what a shocker, am I right?

Watching all these ridiculous gun laws being passed since I started taking notice has been like Chinese water torture. First couple of drops are annoying and you live with it, but quickly you cringe at every one. Each physically pains you even if it's miniscule.

Especially since health and mental faculties can rapidly degrade at such an age. Most Founding Fathers were young men at the creation of the nation, with the average age being around 44 at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The youngest two were 26.
This May I will officially finish my first year as a gunsmithing student at Pine Technical and Community College. So far I have taken machining fundamentals, nearly failed CAD, launched a Mauser firing pin directly into the ceiling tile, and accidentally turned a Remington 7400 into a full auto rifle. Sadly my instructor made me fix that last one. It is my goal to open my own shop, make my own 80% lowers and give a big middle finger to anyone who wants to take away our constitutional freedom. Repeal the NFA, abolish the ATF and let us be free again
