    Excellent video and thank you for sharing! I just picked up the Mokwheel Obsidian and while I only, so far, drive on sidewalks and to a lesser extent the bike lane the rear shock is a must have especially if you're an older driver with any back issues. I'm 60 and haven't been on a bike for over 40 years. Now I'm addicted 😊
    My only complaint is the handlebars that I wish were a little bit more adjustable for a more upright riding position. I ended up with a slight case of carpal tunnel in my right hand so hopefully the adjustments to the seat height and the grips being twisted a little bit more upwards will solve the problem. Obviously I ride with gloves so I was a little surprised to have the bikers palsy. Worst case, I'll buy a different set of handlebars. That is if something is available.

    Just have to say once again how much I appreciate how through, and how well planned out, your reviews are Cap'n, especially when it comes to ebikes. We have an older Emmo currently, but I'm interested in making the jump soon to something more like this, so your reviews are fantastic in both building my knowledge and giving me info to make the best decision. Great job as always!

    Hi, I just viewed your video. I got the same bike last month and I live in Colorado with lots of hills (steep). I noticed you did not go up on steep hills. I have tested here and it did not do well on steep hill even with PAS 5 and gear #1. I have two other ebikes Himiway and BeeCool both did well on steep hills. I did contact the company in CA and they could not help me with that issue. However other than the steep hills, it works great. Also, Mokwheel Basalt ST is a Torque sensor (not Cadence sensor). So I am selling my Mokwheel which has only 49 miles on it. Since 2021 I have rode over 5,000 miles.

    I am a bit confused on what an All terrain bike handes vs a E mtb.... Can you do more on an all terrain bike if you go over really rough stuff and also sand, mud . Where as an e mtb would handle mtb trails but not as good in sand, mud and other riding. All Terrain seems would be better on the above and pavement. Would like to find one with 27.5 tires and wider handle bars.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you buy an EXPENSIVE non-electric bike, you then have a pile of bike categories. For example if you will ONLY ride on pavement you then have several categories of high end cycle bikes all with different construction materials, pedals, gearing, frame, riding position, etc. Electric bikes that cost $3000 or less are your average everyday bike. They do not have as many categories as they are all heavy which means thick strong frames. Inexpensive ($3000 or less) electric bikes have simple categories like FAT BIKE ( which means all terrain, summer & winter), or FOLDABLE (which means commuters for work, pleasure). STREET only electric bikes are not usually good due to weight and electronics unless you can find a $6000 and up one. A MOUNTAIN BIKE (electric bike) is simply an ALL TERRAIN mountain bike with springs in the front forks. Again, the bike is heavy and would not do well on rough mountain bike trails and would require adjustment after each ride. But if the trail is not too rough, the an all terrain bike/mountain bike would do ok at a leisurely pace… just wear protective gear because wiping out on a heavy electric bike can really hurt.

    Great video! the best I have seen so far. one question, what is the coldest temperature outside that you can ride ebike without damaging the battery? thank you.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Most companies would say -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit), is the lowest storage temp. Riding/working temp can be lower as seen in many videos on TH-cam of people riding electric bikes in extreme cold weather.

  • @nrnoble
    @nrnoble ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video. What I remain wondering about is the real range of the ebike on a single charge. Also, given the 100s of eBikes available, what were the deciding factor that made you chose this one (I am assuming the ebike is not a freebee or a special review discount)? I would say my overall concern about purchasing any eBike is the durability over 2-5 years. I would be disappointed in getting an eBike that starts having problems that are not easily corrected without investing a chunk of money, such as breaks start to fail, wheels start rubbing against frame, battery life quickly reduces, and overall performance becomes worse after just a few hundred miles of typical riding.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can tell you the following… I consider myself a cyclist, mainly because I invested thousands of dollars into pedal road and fat bikes (not electric). Each bike cost many thousands of dollars and each of those bikes required a tune up after 3 months of riding (brakes, gears, derailleur). Electric bikes are the same. A $2000 electric bike is considered inexpensive as the good ones are $6000 and up… but those are for cyclists. So the bike I reviewed in this video is a bike expected to be ridden by a non-cyclist with occasional or commuting riding. Like on every bike, the gears will need adjustment after the first year as cables stretch. Brakes usually only need adjustment if they are wearing out (all minor common items). You can do adjustments yourself or take it to a bike shop. Flat tires are another common maintenance & they are repaired the same way as on a regular bike. So far I have had 4 electric bikes come my way (all given to family members) and none have had electrical issues, just the minor maintenance any bike owner would have.

      Have the same doubts
      You can buy a new gas scooter 50cc to 150cc for $1,000
      You can ride an ebike of the sidewalk but not a scooter, guess it depends on what kind of an area you are riding.
      In a city I think the ebike is better, longer trips the scooter makes more sense
      THEN another concern I have is how to keep it from being stolen while you park it outside in public. NO amount of chains etc can stop the right thief from getting it.
      Seems more like something used to go somewhere (secure), not public, like going to a friends house.
      The funny thing is ; I can buy an older Toyota Corolla for less than $2000 !

    No security system?
    Would be nice if it had an audible car alarm style security device or a mode to put it in where the tires are locked. But to be honost i expected it to be more expensive so heck yeah to that !

      Electric transportation is everywhere now. If people pedal, then excellent health exercise, but if the bike does all the work, then it’s almost as bad as sitting on the couch watching TV. I used to think electric bikes were for lazy people or out of shape people, but now that I’ve owned 5 different models, and ridden them as a cyclist, I can say that I still get a great enjoyable workout.
