I remember first getting this game, I played it until I was finished. Broke night and finished the game at daylight. I don't know why so many people dislike fear 3, probably because of the new creators I guess
mainly because of how the game plays, feels like it took influence from COD. cover system was broken sometimes, Ai was dumb, and came in waves instead of squads, and some were just plain annoying. It just didnt feel like fear anymore.
I already have my copy reserved...it's been that way for months now. lol. I absolutely love the story line that the FEAR franchise has. If you don't understand it, or didn't pay attention to it, that's your problem. This is probably one of my favorite games of all time. Can't wait.
Bit of a random-ass question here, but... How long do you guys think Point Man was meditating in that position at 0:32 for? I tried doing the same thing, but my shins started hurting five minutes in :l
@kira4830 It was told in the FEAR companion (that was given when FEAR 2 came out) that they had never met before the events of FEAR. Point Man (the older of the brothers) was born and quickly whisked off (I just wish they gave him an actual name). Paxton had occurances with his mother and they were able to conversate and syncronize thoughts throughout his life. It's why Paxton ended up the way he was and Point Man didn't.

She was left to die, and did, but her psychic signature refused to die; her body is dead, but her mind is alive. @BullpwhoTV The creepy atmosphere and genuinely scary antagonist of the games are what set them apart. There are umpteen-bajillion other paramilitary combat FPS's out there, so it's not exactly the gameplay that's the biggest selling point.
The new F.E.A.R 3 is all about body swapping ability and the new homicidal guy you can play as. Not like the other F.E.A.R from what I have seen so far that also focuses on creating a dynamic atmospheric storyline.
@WeeJNumberone FYI F.E.A.R. 1 WAS a paranormal FPS. I recall 90% of the game's enemies only consisting of soldiers with a little NPC girl watching you from around the corner.

I havnt played this one yet, but ive beaten the first two. Heres what i get out of the story: FEAR recruited the point man (Paxon's Brother) because of his reflex abilities most likely knowing of his true origins (where this game comes in) as the first son of Alma, a ghost girl who can be seen as a little girl (probably from when she was first tested on) and as a young adult (from when she gave birth to point man and Paxton Fettel). Fuck the haters. I loved the first two, I will love this one.

But it's not her fault, she was made like that, abused since she was a little child, used in experiments, tortured, submitted to unimaginable psychological and physical suffering. She had two children forcibly, and those were taken away from her as soon as they were born. So, yeah, she's evil because of what she does, she hates and has lots of resentment for the world. But I wouldn't say she is evil by herself.

Wow I would HATE to be a game developer these days. They spend 2 years making a game they hope people will like, and have a blast playing. And yes and no for you're question, Paxton was a ghost after his own brother shot his head. Even though Pointman wasn't sure that he shot and killed his own brother. And this happends in fear2 dlc now this.

God no, this game was trash. It's not strategic or hard like previous fear games. This was them trying to make their own Call of Duty like everyone else and it failed horribly

Is it because Fear 3 acquired modern gameplay mechanics like sliding, aiming down the sights, and sprint? "Making their own Call of Duty" is quite irrational to criticize a game that has a history from previous entries of having broken mechanics, don't you think? And actually, it is strategic and quite more tactical, as you can attack your opponent's in many ways to advance to the next level, either by utilizing aggressive means, taking cover-offenses, as well as utilizing psychic powers. While this game was more easy than previous Fear games, this game was fun, especially playing co-op splitscreen, and was a well crafted Fear game in gameplay mechanics. Also, it had a good story. Just because a video game is less harder than its previous entries doesn't mean it's trash.

One inconsistancy though, if that's supposed to be Point Man and Paxton when they were younger, I call BS. Point Man had no knowledge of who he was or whom he was born to. He had never met his mother or his brother for that matter. He only became aware of them during the events of the first FEAR. So them playing together would have NEVER happened.
