I think the coalition is gonna pull wintersoldier on Sofia. Reindoctrinated to be "COG" or used by the COG fringe to cover up secrets.
She could've been at any of the Outsider settlements during Gears 4-5, but they didn't show.
Simple the writers wrote her off forever because they couldn’t think of anything else.😅
Honestly i always thought she was being kidnaped by locusts, and that Paduc shot her as a way of mercy killing her, so she wouldnt be tortured. And when he said to Baird "he droped this", he was being sarcastic as it was her dogtags.
Never really crossed my mind that rouge COG Gears kidnapped Sofia, I just assumed the COG tags where hers and it was simply grubs.

I was almost positive Paduk shot her cause grubs captured her. "I could only take one shot. I made sure I didn't miss"

@@jmsgridiron5628 that's exactly how i interpreted it too. It makes sense if paduk didn't want sofia to be tortured by then but idk how much anyone knew about the locusts' human tortures at the time.
Same, I always assumed that Locust captured her and planned to torture her later like they did Maria Santiago, Doms' wife. The only other female cog soldier I'm aware being killed visually was Felicia from Shadow of Raam. But given Sophia is/was an extremely attractive redhead, it would make sense that male humans would try raping her regardless of who she or they were connected with. Either way, she was spared a fate worse than death.
My Cousin and I like to joke around and say that those men were apart of Epic games and they stole Sofia because she is the only Onyx guard that actually did something useful (besides Keegan as of now)

I'm not sure about that. I'd be in favor of a collectible referencing her, perhaps her COG tags.

It may not be the Medic way. But it is Onyx Guard way.
I would love it if she made a comeback I'm gears 6, say like kait, baird Cole and whoever jd or del, are getting ambushed by the swarm and a unknown person give em a hand ( there wearing a mask ) and the voice is female and turns out to be the one and only Sofia, where she has scars from what happened when paduk seen her get dragged away and is partially traumatised of the event and doesn't want to talk about it, but at the end off the chapter she explains.
It very unlikely that she will ever make a comeback and her fate is unknown but it would make me hella gobsmacked if she did.

If it's possible they could bring her back in gears 6 since paddick made his return in gears 5,and also I hope we get to see jace in the next gears game he deserves a comeback just like the grub killer did and several other characters did.

When Alicia valera came to gears 5. I was hoping that Sofia would show later in a update. Just wondering how they would update her looks just like they did for Alicia
I hope she is alive and comes back older and with more grit
she is alive according to one of the writers but we still don't know where she is at or why they took her. Maybe had to do something with her being an onyx guard or her knowledge of classified information back in her cadet days.
I definitely do not think they would ever kill off an important character like Sophia "off screen" where the reader/player can't see it. If memory serves, they have never done that for any important character in the series up to this point, and so I believe that's she *well maybe not in present day* is out there somewhere.
Okay well they did it with Anya stroud lol as long as the coalition have their hands on the franchise it won’t end so well

@@Ikea-sw3gnI think its more of, players liked the older theme and characters, its hard to say goodbye to them and seeing them old and die off maybe one by one is just sad, they shouldve had their happy ending after gears 3, now what the Coalition shouldve done qas make a UIR perspective of perhaps the Pendalum wars, E day or even the UIR Cival war and the regret or how they survived in their low numbers like on ships or outposts, like a gears 3 theme of how the CoG were living on ships or outposts
We hope GEARS 6 wil alow Sofia hendrik to make a come back in the future! Someone send a message to the Coalition studios and the developer for them to bring back Sofia!

i thought the onyx guard got her because she had information and their wasn't many onyx guard left. even as a cadet she would have been privy to classified information (secret locations and stuff) but that's best case scenario, worst case... Birthing Creche similar to what happened to Alexandra Brand might still be going on, (onyx guard may still want to rebuild in secret think enclave fallout series).
Gotta hold out hope she'll be back in some way. One of my favourite supporting characters!
Male Gears of war: Bulky, Muscular, and looks like nerfed space marine with no armor.

Part me feels like it's always gonna he a mystery I see people saying she could come back or killed her attacks but look at gears 5 and how old paduk is. It's clear she's still missing to that day and unfortunately she's most likely dead
The third game implies her kidnapping was the same purpose as Adam Fenix being abducted for the COG's contigency plan of taking elites to Azura.
I have always wondered what happened to her after judgment as well
I belivie she was taken to azura and was later killed when locust took over the Island.

I think that would be a great episode, for the Gears animated series.The episode should play between Gears 3 and 4 Baird should than got the equiptment to find out from who the cog-tags are and who his friend are. Padruk that got the know how to locate the persons than.
Once again Kilo-squad assambles. But after that I think somethink happend because she isn't in Gears 5 and with Padruk.

So if we understood what paduk said. He either mercy kills Sofia bcs maybe grubs would torture her, reminds me of Boone and his wife he had to take his shot and ended his wife's life so that those monsters won't be able to do anything about it.

probaly onyx guards getting back rogue members or at worst her getting sent to a fertility camp, its not some random dudes cuz then she would kill them all same with paddock on the sniper

Chances are she was forced into one of the CoG's breeding camps, which is potentially the worst-case scenario for Sofia... Or any woman in the Gears universe.
I think by the time of Gears 5 Baird and Paduk did find and rescue Sofia because said he didn’t want to see Baird again yet in Gears 5 they’re still in touch. Either Sofia was away at the time of the game or died from natural causes
A theory I've always had was that Sofia was kidnapped by incognito Onyx Guards (Pun intended), sent from Azura to make sure she wasn't a security breach of the sort. I know she was a cadet, but she was still a promising Onyx and knew how they operated. She might have stumbled on to something she shouldn't have and her "fate" was the result of it.
Oh well... Only time will tell.
I hope it's just an undercover group of onyx guards getting all their rouge people back in line.
Well notice the Cog tags are black so she was kidnapped by Onyx guard. I imagine she probably ended up being folded back into service in Azura

I somehow wound up with a head canon where the gears nabbed Sofia cuz they needed her for some covert mission and they succeeded in the mission but everyone involved died off.

Man sofia was my favorite character in gears of war 😢😢 i kinda hoped they added her in gears 5 as a playable character
I think she was recruited permission either willingly or forcefully perhaps something along lines of do this or wipe out Halvo Bay. Would make for a great book or gears game perhaps she even dies at the end.
Let’s “PRESUME” she escaped. The odds of survival are low. You already have to know her onyx guard armor is gone. She may only have at most a handgun, and a knife. Little to no food or water. Plus distance from where they took her to halvo bay. If not another camp or group of survivors or stranded. Now add the savage, the lambent, awol troops, and stranded that would do lord knows what to her? Unless Onyx guard troops are the equivalent of the most elite special forces in our world. The odds are slime. Talking on the 50/50 scale 25/75 survived, to not making it. But they better not do what they did to Anya and kill her off without some take.
I loved the story of this game.
Sofia can return as an Onyx general in Gears 6 for a reunion with Paduk. Maybe.
I use play as her in survival mode and multiplayer i always wondered what happened to her since never made any apperance after judgement only paduk made his appearance in aftermath and paduk saw them through his scope and killed one of them is there some evil cog unit because in multiplayer we fought same characters cog vs cog blue vs red maybe there is red evil cog faction that kidnapped Sofia.
Locust also had their lambent counterparts and there was human enemies UIR so maybe they will have evil red cog faction

Seems like they were way too vague with what happened to her. Kinda lame tbh because I thought Paduk shot her to keep her from being processed. Thought it was way more beautifully tragic.

So I'm currently going through Judgement's campaign and before anyone says that I've spoilt myself, I already watched this video maybe about a year ago and I've just been going through each of the Gears games due to E-Day.
But the reason why I'm making this comment is because I've just unlocked the Aftermath campaign in Judgement and I thought it was Gears of War 3's DLC, so I'm curious as to why the writers did this to Sofia as I'm guessing Aftermath was already attached to Judgement and wasn't post-launch content, so I'm wondering if they did this for the actual conflict between Paduk and Baird as if the main campaign and Aftermath were created at the same time, Sofia's voice actress would likely have been available which was partly why I was wondering why she wasn't in Aftermath, incase she was written out of it due to her being unavailable to reprise her role or something like that.
I haven't finished Judgement's main campaign but I've liked most of the characters in the Gears series and I feel it could be cool for Sofia to return at some point as I'm a firm believer in if you don't see a body or if the death isn't shown on screen, then there's a chance they might not be dead and she could be a cool character to see return in Gears 6 or whatever game comes after E-day as its unlikely we'll see her in that game and due to the recent E-day trailer, I reckon a lot of people like myself will be playing through the Gears of War games and perhaps Sofia will become a favourite of theirs.

I hate to say this but I think she is gone now she was Onyx Cadet and valuable asset reason why she was abducted by COG and likely made prison or soldier in Azura and we all know how Onyx were wiped out by Locust.

@@krypt2k it would likely be a cameo. I imagine her first combat assignment was in Judgement and was likely made to do so because the city was under siege. Likely a total war situation
