    The one quote I remember best from your Channel and which has guided me through my martial arts life since I heard it is: Block rather than hurt, hurt rather than Maim, Maim rather than kill. I wouldn't go for the Gun because I wouldn't like to pull the Trigger, i'd Defend with the staff.

    use your hands to grab the bo staff fight your way to the gun use it until it's out of ammo revert to the bo staff until it breaks then your hands. and don't stop until victory.

    • @aidenfurry471
      @aidenfurry471 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +Chameleon T.S use the bo-staff then when it breaks use the two halves (ex. nightwings escrima sticks) until they break then throw the parts at your opponents and use your opponents momentum against them (at this point you'd be wondering why haven't they picked up the gun yet(this is that part) you were working your way over to it while fighting) when your opponent picks up the gun use a tactic not normally in martial arts (i honestly don't know if it is please correct me if i'm wrong) when they point the gun at you quickly push it out of the way and keep pushing till you're back to back (at this point you would have the gun) hit their back and lock arms then flip them (you can see an example of this in the tv show Arrow) from there it's just a matter of shooting till you run out of ammo and then purely using your hands after throwing the gun

    I'm getting a bo staff in 5 day or 3 or 2

  • @DerHerrSal
    @DerHerrSal 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Always depends on the situation. If you can reach the gun its helpful. if you can get the staff and know how to use it also nice, but if you have no chance to reach something helpful its good to know how use your own body to fight...

    • @dennismadigan2023
      @dennismadigan2023 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      DerHerrSal first don't get into a fight with an attacker. Go for kill spots. If your attacker can't see they can't fight(if you drive your fingers deep into their eyes not only will it blind them but it can cause death), if they can't breath they can't fight, if they can't stand or walk they can't fight. So, do whatever ever needs to be done to rip their eyes out, crush their throat(death) and or destroy their nuts and take out their feet and knees. Don't get into a fight with an attacker. Immobilize your attacker.

    What's better for self defense?
    The Glock (I prefer 1911's, so it's now a 1911) is 20ft away
    The bo staff is within arm's reach
    And your fists are (of course) where fists are supposed to be.....
    What's better? METT-TC.
    Personally, I'm gonna try for the 1911... Not only is a one-sided firefight the LAST thing an assailant wants to engage in, but I'm also well-versed with firearms; I've trained fairly extensively and even took a trip to AFG to do doorkicking things with my friends....
    HOWEVER, that may not be an option... If the 6ft stick is closer, it may be required to smack the assailant upside the head or across the knee to gain some time to get to the 1911 (that is, if the successful deployment of the bo didn't already stop the confrontation), because bigger and badder is always better...
    HOWEVER, that also may not be an option... If we're squared-up and they're coming at me, a solid punch to the face can either end the confrontation or again buy me the time to get to the 1911 because again, bigger and badder is always better...
    So, there's your answer: METT-TC. It's situationally dependent. :)

    • @waaagh3203
      @waaagh3203 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hate the 1911's safety system. I hate having the hammer cocked all the time, but I hate having to cock the hammer or mess with the hammer safety. I like the 1911 for aesthetics, but I am way more comfortable having my striker fire with one in the pipe ready to go whenever I squeeze the trigger.

    • @samr1556
      @samr1556 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1911's are outdated relics. They're an aesthetic piece only. Single stack mags are shit. Dont be one of those dipshits.

      If anything, you use a gun and then when your enemy run out of ammo, don’t bring a gun if you don’t have UNLIMITED AMMO.
      Your enemy will have to use his hands and that’s where you use the staff

      And when you ran out of ammo?
      You use the staff until it breaks.
      When it breaks, you become Nightwing. When that breaks, you throw them at your enemy. When they are stunned, you use your close quarter fighting expertise until your arms and legs develop lactic acid.

    unarmed combat 1st.... I've got more years of training it it
    Bokken 2rd sorry I just like Bokken style more and it feels nicer in my hands I HAVE to mix in some punches elbows knees kicks and throws too though.
    Gun no never..... a gun even in a zombie out break would be the last weapon I'd use on my list of weapons........... too much sound and people seem to forget there are two MASSIVE weaknesses with all guns.... what you want to know what the weaknesses are... okay...... weakness 1........... AMMO!..... ammo runs out, melee weapons and unarmed combat does really run out of ammo weakness 2........ guns aren't made with the idea of being up close....... picture yourself in a zombie out break you NEVER carry any weapon other than your favorite gun and in this hypothetical zombie out break you have 0 fighting training..... you just ran out of ammo... more zombies are coming... you can't hide there is nowhere to hide.... how useful is that gun now?

    Hi I'm Aaron I learned about 46 techniques from you. I'm only 9 but please do more videos about jump attacks. Anyway I think a bo staff is a good weapon because if you use your hands they will have the first strike. I'm only using a walking stick so it fits me. Have a happy New year:)

    I live in south Florida, I carry a bo staff when out walking, but I also have a S&W .357 magnum in my pocket (a 360 Pd model) with laser sight.

    Hi jake, I'm your huge fan and also a beginner to bo staff. I'm right handed,but I'm used to holding the staff with my left palm up and right palm down. My front spin is however clockwise from my view, as I learned it from you. Is it normal and do I need to change my way of holding? Thank you!
