I'm not familiar with the old strike but from what I've read it's completely new
I've heard from people claiming that it is but with some parts of it updated.
I didn’t hear too many complaint about the old strike other than the obvious back heavy problems. That said given how the real grade line has updated over time, I don’t think it’s gonna be the same as the aile strike or something worst like the destiny that I’ve heard always had a bad habit of having small pieces fall off.
I saw someone point out the shoulder assembly is similar (if not identical) to that of the RG Force Impulse, so it might be more based on that.
I’m so excited for the MGSD Wing Zero EW. The MGSD line has been amazing and the Wing Zero EW is still my favorite design after all these years and all these kits.
I really like SD lines. The new stuff is amazing in detail and so much fun. Spend way too many hours on them. Now the MGSD line is my new, crack Gundam. Wing is one of my least favorite MG’s and HG’s as for whole package. I can’t lie I loved it started with strike and Barbie is so cool, as pleasant as MG in build and looks better in my opinion. But now, I am going to spend weeks on that MGSD wing, once it in my dirty, glued up, painted and cut up hands, can’t wait!!! Those wings alone will be so pleasing to, nip, sand, tape and paint. I think I just want to watch that paint dry. I so want a Zaku or something like it soon in MGSD.

@@DX16 I am with you. RG hi-nu got me into Gundam. I love to paint, RG’s take weeks. Vs HG which are fun, But the MG, RG and new SD stuff I just can zone so fun painting them. Inner frame, stands, weapons and just zone.

6:36 The promotional images on the show floor emphasize that the Cal-re.A will have its gold parts entirely color-separated, and even in the model kit pics itself you can see the seamlines where the gold meets the white.
Also, the name of the kit is "Black Knight *Squad* Cal-re.A".

I know that the Akatsuki is based on the strike in the MS history. But I sincerely hoped that they used the RG impulse gundam as the base for the inner frame rather than the strike
It will be a new inner frame for this kit, just don't think they can re-use the Impulse frame that's designed to have a core fighter inside, and the Strike frame is really, really dated.
Everyone's hoping.
So dated- this should be getting a new or heavily modified frame
@@Matanumi It's probably gonna be brand new, keeping aspects of the past few frames like the Epyon, High Nu... but still a new frame to fit the proportions of the Akatsuki.

The Zeus Silhouette. Glad it's in November atleast. Because I pre ordered for Mighty Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice Type 2.
They also announced the release date for the HGUC Bolinoak Sammahn at Shizuoka. No idea why it wasn’t part of Bandai’s website but some people at the event caught it. November Release for 3,520 Yen. No update on HGUC Psycho MK-II or Figure-Rise Ple Two.
without spoiling the SEED Freedom movie the Akatsuki is also shown to be compatible with the Destiny Spec-II's Zeus Silhouette which makes me wonder if the HG kit is compatible with the RG Akatsuki.

I am looking forward to the akatsuki. I have the old rg freedom, and despite its problems it's one of my favourite builts.
BUT, aside from the freedom, the original series astray, the starblazer (a ms that needs a rg), aegis and maybe the strike, the akatsuki is the only ms from seed i actually like.
I really wished for a new one. Now let's just hope they didn't make the paint a pain again.
The MBF-M1 M1 Astray ? Yeah, they're pretty cool, but I love the Blitz, Buster much more, not only for their design and weapons, but also what they represent with their pilots.
I've looked at pictures of the gold plated runners, and the pics are in low res but you can still see the nubs are hidden away at places where you connect other pieces.
I'm so cut up about that option set, it's going to be like 30 bajillion dollars by the time it comes to Australia I can feel it.

6:58 The "Option Parts Set 13" I'm sorry on how its showing as a 2024 release, when its already been released as HGBC #10 Gunpla Battle Arm Arms (Build Fighters Support Weapon)- and there is video on that support kit from all the way back in 2014. So is it just a rerelease or what?

I love the MGSD line so far and the Wing Gundam Zero Custom will be a great addition. I am guessing future ones will be the 00 Gundam and God Gundam since they seem to be doing the AU Gundams instead of any UC Gundams (at least at the moment). The Akatsuki is looking very cool. I wonder how much of it will be the Strike Gundam on the inside though.
The RG Akatsuki will probably be 100% brand new.
I hope the Zeus silhouette will be a solo kit I want to def put it on the Akatsuki
When they first announced the MGSD line I knew the WZC is going to be one suit they make. The next one will probably be either the Unicorn or the RX-78-2.

Super new to the hobby only kit I have built is my favourite from Gundam Wing - Sandrock (MG)
Going to Japan in a couple of days, wondering if theres anything that I should be on the look out for? Defintely stopping by Gundam Base Tokyo. WIsh I could have made it out in time to see the RX-78 in Yokohama too!

I doubt you'd be able to fit it inside like in the movie; especially considering the actual Gundam is getting a separate HGCE release. I think those feet is just molded details.
Now if this was an MG then _maybe_ we might see it. Like they could release an MG ZGMF-X191M2 ∞ Justice Gundam Type II (and also an MG 2.0 of the ZGMF-X19A ∞ Justice Gundam based on the ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam) and in that case we could see (for example) the ZGMF-MM07 Z'Gok be like an outer armor set you can put on.

Destiny Spec 2 is just a reprint recolour of 2019's Destiny Gundam, they still have that old beam rifle..

According to reports, the gold on the white Black Knight will be color separate. Not sure to what extent, but a lot of people confirmed it.
Also, RG Akatsuki will utilise RG Impulse's innerframe.
Yep it’s fully color separated, there’s an image that shows the construction of the arm to demonstrate it. Too bad it’s injection gold though
Where has that Impulse frame been confirmed? It makes no sense that it will when the Impulse has an empty toros and has to transform. The only similarity I've seen is the shoulder joint which most modern RGs also have
@@jaskaranbajwa8443 RG Impulse doesn't have a prebuilt innerframe like past RGs, so it should be possible for Bandai to utilise RG Impulse innerframe for Akatsuki with minimal part swaps.

RG Impluse frame is meant to have a full core fighter inside, so it's gotta be heavily modified for a RG Akatsuki.

Plated plastic is brittle unfortunately.
I feel RG Akatsuki will have this issues
1. Unhidden nubs
2. Finger prints everywhere
Possible same fate like the RG Unicorn Phenex.
The Akatsuki is a modern release specially made for itself, not a recolor of an older kit, so nubs will be hidden. Just look at the plated runners. And for fingerprints.... use gloves XD
@@DX16 You could always try top coating with gloss. If I recall, none of my glossed parts have fingerprints.

@@DX16there are more MG kits this year, but aside from the MG Narrative C-Packs all of them are just recolors and updates of the already released kits, like the MG Sinanju Narrative Ver Ka. So technically C Packs is the only new MG we've got this year.

The RG ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam (Oowashi Unit) is exciting news. ¥8,000 is expensive but I think the chrome gold finish is well done. This only means an RG ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam (Shiranui Unit) is likely to be a P-Bandai release.
What I want is a Master Grade ORB-01 Akatsuki Gundam, and if such a kit is made, maybe we'll get both backpacks included in the box like the No Grade 1/100.
The MGSD XXXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero EW is exciting and even though the price has yet to be unveiled, I would guess it'd be ¥3,900 since that's the price of the others.
The HGCE ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam SpecII & Zeus Silhouette impressive but I will wait for an MG.
The HGCE ZGMF-MM07 Z'Gok is a surprise. The 'feet' is probably just a molded detail since the actual mobile suit is getting a separate release.
I wonder if the actual public Shizuoka Hobby Show will unveil more kits that were not shown to the press.

Wtf? I got that option set years ago. I assumed it was from Buildfighters. I got it along with the hand options.
Bandai is just re-branding the option parts sets they released under 1 name. It's why we haven't seen reprints of them for years.
That's because it is the same kit, but this time they're being re-released under the new "Option Parts Set" brand instead of the "High Grade Build Custom" name. They're basically consolidating all of the previous options sets from different names into one all-encompassing banner.
They really need to step up on its MG kits because other brand becoming more appealing now

On the Japanese market when it comes to mecha it's mostly just Bandai, Kotobukiya and some Good Smile Company (Moderoid line). Wave makes Votoms and Dougram. Aoshima has couple ones Ideon or Gunbuster. Hasegawa makes Macross. You can find a random box or two of Chinese plamo kits like Hemoxian Thor. That's pretty much it. Most plamo shops you go are like 80% Bandai. There's almost no contest so Bandai doesn't feel any pressure at all.

@@HaohmaruHL Sure, if you're talking raw mecha. But Kotobukiya, Goodsmile, Skytube and more have all been making mecha musume kits for years.
Best part of these kits is that they are versatile with how many scenarios you can put them in.

@@DX16 30MM kits are just raw mecha designs. If you wanted a better Bandai comparison, you'd probably use 30MS. But even then, despite being initially designed by Fumikane Shimada who did Strike Witches, Megami Device and Frame Arms Girl, their designs and personalities are a lot more subdued when compared to the competition......

These prices here are always the Japanese Yen prices converted into USD. If you were going to shop while you are in Japan that is the price you'd pay. The prices you have in mind, on the other hand, are for what you are paying if you bought it from a retailer in the US, which needs to increase the price to cover the expensive shipping costs.
