Slap here is some tips! Go into neutral at the start and when the light turns green you shift up and gives you a monster launch.
(Here is my gear setup for 1/4 mile)
1: 3.53
2: 2.63
3: 2.03
4: 1.77
5: 1.53
6: 1.34
Final Drive: 2.43
Average time with a decent car 6.6 secs but can get 5.9-6.0 secs, again depends on car though. some cars will always be faster than others

hey slap just your regular here if you are in the need of money in the game max out all of your gears except for second and put 2nd gear at 0.77 then you can glitch the game in tournament modes for mad money. have fun ;)

I have conducted some tests, *ahem* according to my calculations my time on going to netrual and then shifting up on green was a pretty good lunch,race type:1/4 miles, time finished:8.559, reaction:0.067, the one with the clutch where you hold down then let go on green gives you a tremendous amount of boost, race type:1/4, time finished:8.194,reaction:0.026, I would rather personally choose the clutch one 🙂 with the same setup as slap
1.)You NEED to tune the gears(or search the tune on google)
2.)when you launch you need to shift in to neutral!!

For gearing, in order to modify it, you must first use the dyno and find out where your max torque and max horsepower's RPM, then modify the gears so that when you shift, they land right on the max RPM (The max RPM you got from the Dyno)

Slap here's my technique to launch and win----
1) Instead of putting the car on a gear, put the car into neutral and rev the shit out of it. When the light turns green, put the car into gear and you will haul
2) Don't early shit like Letty.
There will be a shift indicator, which has a red colour, shift when it comes up

basically some ultra rare crate items does boost it unless you add in the total output added by the NOS

Hey slap! If you're doing a launch, after heating the tires, put the gear in neutral (N) and rev. (You can still put some tire heat if you rev up high while in neutral while pressing brakes)
When the light goes green, then immidiately press the gear up button together with the N2O. Btw, I'm using a Mazda Miata with max performance specs (engine swap with the rb26) I hope that tip works bro!
slap here are a few tips, pratice on freerun before going to tournament
to launch your car ignore the launch control, just heat your tires and when it says ready put gear in Neutral, rev to max and upshift just before greenlight. I'm level 120 so you can trust me. And if you want to go on 200k tournament you will need the f1x and the vw ghia (the car before the lotus) and a preety good tune you can get one at the forums. Good luck
Ricardo Batalha I use a custom tune for my car and I use an Evo X or Lotus Exige (both have my own tunes) you don't need a specific car just something generally light and ok grip and also a good tune... I am like level 120 also so trust me
that's cool, what is your average time?
Ricardo Batalha yep follow his tips. i'm on level 160, droves vr38 engined r32 gtr (used to drive vw karmann ghia but grip point sucks) and gives 6 second bracket on tournaments.
do a burnout (awd requires brakes and clutch pressed at same time), put on neutral gear, rev it to redline, use nitrous before green light is on, when it's green, upshift them.
hoppefully, there isn't one "best" build so we just need to tune every car we want with a decent amount of power and gearing.
im running a vr38 in a mini lol, the best a got it to go was 6.145

Good launch technique:
Heat your tires unless if you are in a all wheel drive
Shift down into neutral
When the countdown gets to 1.00 - 0.90 seconds use your nitro
When the light gets to green shift into 1st gear
This might take a few times to get used to because it launches you straight off the line really quick.

i did it with r32 with vr38 swap (rated x), and evo 5. also did it with all motor civic hatch with k20 swap at easy class.
tips:
Don't use launch control.
Shift to neutral after burnout, hold the gas, when it says go, upshift it.
4WD+VR38 is advised.
Decrease the class rating by lowering the boost pressure, not by removal of parts.
Also I has won 25 tournaments.
put it in neutral at the start and red line it till green and nos instantly when light is green.... it's weird but the best way to start off the line in the game

Slap. if you wanna beat the tournament. buy the fr9 and make the gears a tad bit shorter. when you start to race. heat up your tyres till they go dark orange. go in neutral and rev up the car till it bounces off the rev limiter and tap the nos button, when the countdown goes to one, once the light goes green shift up and you should pass the other racers. hopefully this works for you.

some tips to get you racing on the tournament good:
-launch on Neutral
-trigger nitro once the first staging lamp has lit.
-launch control is pointless in this game since people's exceed themselves with redline revving in this game
-the new EU cars are VW Karmann Ghia T14, Lotus Elise M117, and BMW M5 V10(E60).
-practice first on freerun mode. then compare your average time to the tournament's average time.

I put the 2 step full and rev complete and put it in neutral and when it hits green hit the shift and keep the rev up and you should be able to start off with an unstoppable launch

Tips to launch in pcr
1.if your cars are RWD, FWD, or AWD its fine
2.when on start RWD burnout put your gear on N (NEUTRAL) wait for the countdown or stage to start

If you have launch control, it won't activate if you start in neutral and then go to first.
Go in first, depress the clutch and accelerate
When light goes green, let the clutch go and continue, nitrous works best in 2 and 3 gear
Find the max power at rpm on the dyno, that's when you should set your launch control at.

i Recomend AWD cars
and do the "Neutral to 1st" method in drag racing
it does the job pretty well

Use nitrous before the counter starts, and don't use 2 step at all. The wheel spin in that game basically doesn't do anything and you launch a lot faster. And instead of using the clutch use the neutral gear, I find it easier.
I tuned it on 8500 rpm and also makes anti-lag
also no tuning on the gearing max psi on turbo (logiclly) nvm what turbo and I am with 240 sx

If you want to go fast you need a all wheel drive car and start in neutral. All wheel drive has a big lead if its done right. Also you should want your gears to be in a way that makes your last gear be maxed out at the finish. My gearing is
1st 2.51
2nd 1.90
3rd 1.53
4th 1.28
5th 1.10
6th 0.93
Final Drive You can keep it stock but if its not an all wheel drive than rear wheel can be almost stock but you can make it longer and on front wheel same its more if you want to start in neutral or not some engines might bang on the rpm limit on this setup you should use engines that can go up to 10.000 rpm (F1X, VR38, RB26, K20, 1JZ, SR20) on other engines as I said you might want to longer the gears. And of course you need to activate your Nos somewhere on second yellow light.
+ With this setup I got 6.282 on 1/4 mile with all the best parts

On dyno with Nos up to 3235 HP 1587 TQ, without Nos up to 3012 HP 1485 TQ
With 31 psi Supercharger up to 2838 HP on stats
On dyno up to 3181 HP 1567 TQ with Nos, without Nos up to 2959 HP 1453 TQ
But that kind of ride will cost you not much just 20 Mil. with tournaments that is easy I would suggest to start with Nissan Gtr r35 because it already has a VR38 engine which is second best.

In Semi Pro King and Pro league tournaments there mainly will be cars with all wheel drive and your chance to win in a rear wheel drive car are very slick, not like hating the rear wheel drive but that is how it works.
If you want to know the average times are 6.7 - 6.8 on the Pro league, and 7.3 - 7.4 on Semi Pro King
+ If you want to lover your Class you can just lover your Boost

Also, like what everyone said, there is a MUCH easier way of launching your car. Put your gear in neutral, then redline it and put it on first gear when the green light shows up.

slap go into neutral and redline it until the light turns green, when the light turns green shift into first while still holding down the throttle. if you have nitrous hit it before the light turns green while still redlining it (usually when it says .8 seconds for me)
Hey Slap it's easier to win if you use an AWD car for the tournament specially if you launch it correctly. First put it on neutral and rev it all the way up and as soon as the light goes green, shift to the first gear and tap the NOS button at the same time.
(I have'nt won using a RWD or FWD car, yet in the tournament)
BTW you can Google different gearing/tune for cars
at the start, shift down to neutral, and hold gas, only upshift on the green and keep going. Tournament mode is impossible in an RWD car, with an AWD, they don't rev at the start and you can launch much better. I run 6.2's and you always want to use a turbocharger, Also use the NOS, before you launch.
P.S. The f1x is not a ferrari engine, its a tuned v8

The variety of cars
I launch my car like this:
•Heat up tyres,
•Put car in neutral,
•Max rev and don't let go,
•When it's go put car into gear not letting go of accelerator.
pete tune your gear ratios before going into the tournament. put your car in N and push the noss button when the timer in the top left hits 0 then up shift right when it turns green obviously with full throttle
At least we see more pixels pop up on the channel
Slap, to win these races you must tune the gearing of your car to make it better for the quarter mile. Tuning it well will most likely bring down your time by around 0.3 seconds. Plus I like your Challenger =].
Try the Evo. It will help you win those races, I got 1 million just from racing with the Evo in the tournament mode (Semi Pro Kings). The Evo is just 12K, they do have multiple versions of the Evo in the game, including the older ones and new ones.
That body kit that is 5.5 it drags you down... put the 5in lowering on it and you will see a massive difference
Do a neutral drop! Rev all the way while in neutral then keep holding the throttle but all u need to do is upshift as soon as the light turns green and you accelerate like a beast especially in awd cars!!!
Slap, the tune that I run on my VW Beetle is unreal pushing over 3000hp and it's maxed out. But dude to launch a powerful car what I do is Manual but manual without the clutch. What I do is heat the tires up nearly all the way, put the car in neutral hold rev limiter and once the tree starts going down hit the nos and shift to 1st gear on green and go
Also my best reaction time is .003 with that method
Go into neutral, rev it up, and then bang it into 1st when the light turns green and you will get the best launch. Although it will spin it is still faster.

Tune the 2 step to the rev that gets the most power out of and get the neutral before start and you'll get better

Maybe its because of the suspension drag you use.Once you bringing it up,it won't change anything.Use a normal suspension(Not the stock) ;)
the camaro was lit, you should have get rid of the 350z, Slap before the drag start dont use clutch, just the car on N then activate the nos and when the light goes green, hit the 1 gear.
slap u absolutely need a tune to win this..my tuned skyline got me first in every race and i got the money to buy the new engine and also After Heating the Tires, you need to go on N and when the light turns green, Press Nitrous and go into the 1st gear!
How to launch: all wheel drive=best launch then when in a race drop it into neutral hold break and rev to warm your tires when it says get ready drop your nitros still in neutral rev to the max and your launch button is the shift up it basically skips second gear so get ready to shift fast @TheSLAPtrain
Additional note The only risk I take is false starting lol my reactions are all under 0.010 best being 0.001

You should put the final gear a little bit higher and when u launch go into neutral and rev until full boost and when its green shift up and gas really fast while the boost is all the way up. This works for me all the time. I have like 38.5m dollars in this game i have some experience
you need to make a perfect gearing tune that makes the car max out right before the finishing line to win at tournament mode, it's though man
