Swansong doesn't "fizzle". It still resolves as normal, just fails to counter the spell. Dequan should've still gotten a 2/2 bird, since getting it isn't tied to the targeted spell being countered.
Interesting interaction. The more you know :)
Yes, it does fizzle because it has no legal targets. Granting a spell or a permanent hexproof makes it an illegal target for spells and abilities. So Swan Song fizzles.
@@dimitriosdoulgeris4659 The spell doesn't have hexproof
It just can't be countered
Swansong just requires the target be a spell
Ruling is Swan Song can target a spell that can't be countered. That spell won't be countered when Swan Song resolves, but its controller will get a Bird token.
@@Dylan-vs6sf
Yes, you're right. It gives permanents and the player hexproof.
So the bird should be put onto the battlefield.
Ryan never fails to say Kraumbat.
This is why we love PwP.
Also, we learned during that game that the exile zone is a public zone. So had I grabbed squee out of his deck, he could have still cast it and done the food chain loop. It was interesting.
When "Rocco x is 3" resolves, with Opposition Agent on the battlefield, Rocco "may search" ability triggers. Alan may choose to search but he may also choose not to search.
In choosing not to search, Opposition Agent does not replace Alan's action and nothing will happen.
What's up with the color dot stickers on the cards?
Dequans opening hand in that first game was so good you guys should put a nut allergy warning on the video. Jokes aside, fantastic games all round and really enjoyable to watch!
knowing what was in dequan's hand and watching zach exile mental misstep to chrome mox .. me: "oof they in trouble now"
@@zimsterzimster when he did that after entomb, i was like why, why would you do this, you just KNOW he has reanimate
I really like how Katherine and Dequan is organising her decks with the sticker! Good job!
"The team had a lot of fun so they decided to go again." *starts a new game with only one person from the previous game*
THANK YOU
Alan punted a bit G1… Rocco’s ability is a *may*
He actually realized that a few turns after I cast the Opp agent.
love the fist bump when dequan cast the opposition agent
10:05 "He moves to Kraum-bat" LMAO okay that me really laugh~
Loved that first game! I could feel that devious delight from Dequan 😂😂
I noted in G2 that Alan could have continued the Chain for Chain of Vapor to bounce his own dockside extortionist, and then recast it for 2/7 treasures, and then gain 7 more for a total count of 13 as a result, before recasting Korvold and attempting to go off from there. Granted he was playing into Travis and his open mana, but it could have won him the game that turn had he been able to pull it off. At worst, he would have been in the same situation as before, but down a land yet still able to Demonic Tutor and Ad Nause off the remaining treasures.
what is the purpose of the dots on the sides of the cards in Katherine and Dequan's decks? Is it to help find tutor targets faster?
I was wondering the same thing
I would also like to know this answer
IDK for sure, but I thought they might/or could be markers for different decks. Pull all the yellow dots, you have 100 of them, and then you have your yellow deck from a box of cards. Pull the blues, different deck. That is just my thought, or an idea I might try since I have like 20+ deck designs. Yet, I play in a proxy friendly environment, so I have a few basic lands (/s) with the appropriate markings on them.
@@RyanBetz this was my second guess
@@RyanBetz even if it isn't that's low-key genius and I'm going to start doing that now
DeQuan is already one of my favourite players you've had on the channel, you can just feel the "All according to keikaku..." energy.
G2. Why didn't the Rograkh/Thrasios player flashback their Turn the Earth during their upkeep? Wouldn't this win them the game?
Was going to say as well, if blue farm had no interaction, this should've been the line.
Guess I should've scrolled down a bit before asking the same question...
I appreciate that yall started telling us what the name of the sleeves everyone uses. Makes it way easier to add to cart for my own collection.
What's with the stickers on Katherine and Dequan's cards?
The little meme pop ups were kind of distracting but they were solid games. (Flashback Turn the Earth anyone?)
@4:44 Since Rocco’s search ability is a ‘may’ couldn’t Alan have chosen not to search his library for a creature card, making the Opposition Agent less effective?
In g2 t1, why did Alan not use Chrome mox to cast tinder wall? Saves a damage doesn't it
3:16 Swan Song should still resolve, it just isn't able to counter the Reanimate because Dequan's spells can't be countered. They should still create a 2/2 Bird.
How in the hell did you view this 22 hours ago. It just came out 8 seconds ago
@@thehollowseve6749 patreon probably
@@thehollowseve6749 magic
He Doesn't get the bird since he can't target the spell and so there is no "controller" to give the bird to.
@@jorahthecat4518 But Swansong never lost its target. It still resolves as normal, but skipping the part of countering the spell. The player and their permanents get hexproof, not the spells.
What are the little dotted stickers on the cards for?
What's with the dots on dequan and Katherine's sleeves?
I feel like Travis probably should have had that second game, most rog/thras lists are have been on memory's journey from the start, it was recently replaced with turn the earth. He was in prime position to start his own breech line, wasn't he?
Yes, Turn the Earth was their London Mulligan.
Wow, Dequan chose violence the entire game.
what are those "stickers" on katherine and dequan's sleeves?
What are those colores circles on the cards?
I've played with Dequan for years. He really is an evil bastard, but he'll make you laugh the whole time as well.
whats with the dots on the sleeves?
Is the Rocco list the correct one? It has no Foodchain in it.
I am surprised that noone played evelyn so far, it is one of the cedh meta so far on A+ as a worldgorger list.
Game 1 Dequan just straight up living the CEDH dream, absolutely crushing it 🤌🏽
what are the dots on the cards?
11:40 shouldn't Alan have copied chain of vapor targeting his own dockside in order to recast it for more treasures?
He would have had mana for miscast if he did this
Yo Villis out here going Super Saiyan!
Why is blue farm called Blue Farm? Like blood pod makes sense, razakeths makes sense, but I don't get the blue farm reference.
Good question, I could be wrong on all of this, and don't know why it ended up as blue farm. I'd think it was originally bad farm, because it ran low cost cmc creatures and then "farmed" them for value. There was mad farm, sad farm, and now blue farm. Not sure why blue
I took a deep dive on why it was called bomberman a while ago, and the best I came up with was the original deck finished the game with one of the "spellbound" cards after making mana from salvagers/led.
It would be neat if someone did a book on deck name origins.
"Blue Farm is a turbo Ad Nauseam deck that is also able to pivot to a midrange grindy gameplan thanks to its commanders, which provide insane card advantage."
-Moxfield
Let’s gooo vilis posting
I like the bunny on Alan's playmat
I should ask, is Rog/Si really that good? Maybe it's just my selection of media, but it feels like Rog/Si folds to any sort of interaction.
It's a goldfishers deck. Goes really fast when you play by yourself
why do Dequan and Katherine cards have those colored spots on the cards?
It’s the coding system I use to switch in between the 20 decks on the fly. Super simple.
@@dequan426 brilliant
@@dequan426how does the system work exactly if you don’t mind me asking?
@@Trokee My guess is all the cards for a specific deck have the same colour sticker on them, first game dequan was playing the green deck and Katherine was playing the blue deck
Couple of bangers
whats up with Katherine and Dequans sleeves?
Are you talking about the wavy edge on the top? That happens when you've been using the same set of sleeves for a while, especially because dragonshields are a few mm taller than the cards
Oh the colored dots. No idea
My guess is that those stickers are on inner sleeve and indicate which decks those cards go to when they only have one copy of them. So they can easily flip through the deck looking for green dots for their green dot deck and not spend time looking through a deck list.
@@Hammith you’re absolutely correct. It’s my cedh cube
what’s up with all the stickers on their sleeves
Rocco searching is a “may” ability, he should have chose not to search so Opp Agent didn’t get a free card
I liked the memes haha
Why do some of the cards have colored dots on them
What are the stickers on some of the cards
Dequan content on game 1 just left for game 2.
Good games peeps.

I know my comment wont get notice but you should ban tymna thrasios 70% of your videos have the partner pair its just boring at this point
