Rule 2: Take that stupid scimitar away from Tris and give him a crossbow. He won't hit anything, but it'll keep him in back where he can do his one job - healing the party.
That rule for Tris is gonna save a lot of people. I learned the hard way and it didn't matter how early the tank pulled aggro everyone would jump on tris when he joined the fray.
I've actually used him as a finisher several times lol. For some reason the enemies LOVE to attack my OC fighter or Amiri. They attacked Linzi a lot at first but mostly lost interest now.

Yeah the Inspect facility and the fact that your characters get to know more and more about the monsters the more they encounter them (through the various Knowledge and Lore checks for different types of monsters) - that's HUGE. (Cool tip: in the Turn-Based mod you can Right-click on enemy names in the list and it brings up their inspect panel.) Particularly, it's huge for tailoring the kinds of spells you use against an enemy - for example an enemy that has low Will saves compared to Fort, use a spell that has a Will check instead of a spell that has a Fort check. Just generally, while playing Pathfinder, you can get a lot of a sense of how the game works just by occasionally reviewing the combat panel bottom right, to see exactly what's been going on when your character has hit or fired off a spell - you can see in detail how all the buffs accumulate to push a roll just over the edge against something with high AC, for example. It can get quite interesting, and you understand the game better and better. Great channel man, keep up the good work!
Those teleport circles/mage towers are a major time saver, and reminded me that when I set up new villages in my domain to really try and spread them out, so I save the maximum time by teleporting.
The biggest tip I wish I had known before playing is haste. That spell is utterly broken, made every fight so much easier. I had to bump the difficulty from challenging to hard when I started casting it before every fight.
Really broken was it Nwn1/d&d3.0 where you get perma-haste-items and everything above level 20 enemies got haste to .. counter the haste you as player can get.
Genuinely broken in pathfinder. First spell cast every fight. Including bull stregnth. Played kingmaker tabletop and had part with 3 fighters 1 wizard and cleric and it broke the whole party composition
As a sidenote: there is a mod that changes the fightmode to a round base system. Like a tabletop round. EDIT/UPDATE: Since a few patches ago the option to play with the round base system is already in the game, you don't need a mod anymore!!. You can toggle it with the little hourglass symbol near the bottom of the screen (should be on the left side). Personally I suggest to alter the speed the characters move and act because it is very clunky and sluggish on default setting in my opinion.
Turn based mod is A M A Z I N G!! I literally couldn’t play before and was very sad. I just couldn’t get the hang of the pause system etc., so the turn based mod made it playable to me and I’ve been playing all weekend since finding it on Weds or so. :)
swarms are probably the biggest thing I hated as a new player, literally unkillable with normal attacks, and me with 0 aoe had to sit there spamming flasks to kill them.
@@mayoluck I wish i had known this at my first playthrough....i used all my alchemist fire in bokkens quest and couldn't kill the last swarm. And somewhere in midgame, when you have enough magic weapons to hit the swarms with, i got a tool tip in the loading screen about the torches. I'm still angry about this.
The thing I hate the most in the game is every monster has either displacement or blur on them. Just to prolong fights uselessly, but not giving more XPs for the same monsters.
Eh. I haven't played kingmaker, but on the tabletop it is not super important. What you want to do is to focus on one or two strategies and use different builds to break the game. For example, you could make a dex based fighter with a reach weapon, enlarge person them, and then they use crowd control with the trip feat tree.
Kyle Miller I ASSURE you, its all-important in kingmaker. Its not like pillars of eternity where there are more than one way to make your character hard to kill. If you wanna survive in this game, you need AC.
Yes and No. It is just about impossible to get a great ac, touch ac and flat-footed ac. You can invest all you like but you only need your tank to have a high ac and a boost to flat-footed/touch.
Gordon McInnes well, a sword saint / monk / aldori defender / duelist will have ridiculously, STUPIDLY high ac and touch ac, and depending on your preferences you can pop into bard or barb to get that uncanny dodge. Congrats, nobody’s hitting you ever again. There are all sorts of variations with dragon disciple and vivisectionist as well, but the short of it is - you can utterly trivialize the game by stacking ac skyhigh. Theres not a single other stat you can stack to a degree where it makes the game easy as piss.
Set Kingdom Management setting to effortless if you don't like it being a pain in the ass. It doesn't change the difficulty to custom either, it stays normal, hard or whatever you got it at. Don't set it to automatic, it removes any ability for you to make choices with your Kingdom.
Especially when it comes to all the feats. If you don't know what you're doing, that giant list is daunting. It's also very difficult to know what feat branches are viable, and what character builds they're useful for.
I've only played AD&D original and a little of version 2. However, I've played a LOT of CRPGs over the decades. It certainly took some time (I spent the first night just figuring out how to make my character!) but I figured it out. Eventually. It's supposed to take 40 hours to get your kingdom, right? ;)
I never did and im getting into pathfinder kingmaker now, it is indeed a lot to take in and it feels like every 20 mins I am googling what this means or what that stat means etc (Not putting Heavy armor on my melee cleric for fear of the arcane fail which i later realised does not effect divine skills was a face palm moment for me lol) but The more I learn the more I love, I think I might be as hyped for wrath of the righteous as much as I am for baldurs gate 3 at this point in time :D Fantastic game so far.
@@Terron29 It is very a daunting game to learn and stick with for a lot of people. But once the rules become clear and how everything works, its like no other CRPG out there. Im on my second play thru as an evil ruler and Im having as much fun as I did with my LN/LG play thru. Im super impressed that Owlcat had such a grasp of not only the Pathfinder 1.0 rule set, but also the understanding of game design and replayablity, and of gamers in general. In the fact that there are evil and morally-grey NPC's we can chose to bring in our party (if we so chose to play as evil rulers).
a few things about the unfair difficulty, it is almost broken: Enemies will kill(not going unconscious) in one hit if they ever crit and dropping(going unconscious) your character in two hits if they don't. Early on there will be enemies that have ac and attack bonus so high that you can't hit them without getting a 20 and they won't miss you unless they roll 1. good thing, the game now has coup de grace(something that I didn't have when I started playing it) that makes the early game incredibly easier by putting enemies to sleep or prone and then using coup de grace on them + proccing a lot of attacks of opportunity, very rarely I don't play on the hardest difficulty and if you are like me prepare to reload a lot and be extremely frustrated early on by the encounters but it gets easier the more levels you get. Currently I don't know if it is possible to do last azlanti(only 1 save) + unfair because of the high amount of luck that you need to have on the encounters early on, the only way I did get past the early game was with mods(the most important one is turn based, that helps a lot because you can play optimally it is really good especially with caster classes that can do almost anything in their turn).
If you make valerie a monk with crane style early on and a vissectimist alchemist she can have alot of AC and generate great damage. She's easily a tier 1 character. Amiri turned into an inquisitor with Gorrum as her patron and Smilodon as an animal companion is insane. She easily the hardest hitter in the game.
What difficulty would you recommend for a challenge? I finished poe2 on hard and regretted not starting it on path of the damned but is it the same difficulty wise?
Some things I like to add. If you want to do a player made party without mods here's how. When you get to Oleg's at the very beginning of chapter 2 DO NOT level your main character to level 2. After you you fight the Bandit raid off and sell off all of the trash loot. you can hire 5 mercenaries and outfit them if you like. That way you can devote you companions skill points into what ever advisor roles you assign them. IMO this gives you a better party overall as well as more effective advisors. Edit: I also highly suggest a Charisma centric ability score class for the main charactor as your persuasion skill will make parts of the game go much easier. IE Cleric Pali Bard Magus ect ect.
@@psevmonim No, it actually is quite cheaper because it's 2000gp when you are level 2. It's 500 gp if you are lvl 1. That's why don't level up till AFTER you done hiring your new party. Now you will have 5 lvl 1 characters and 1 2nd level main character with about a 2250 exp difference in level. Which is seems huge in the beginning . Said difference becomes drastically smaller as you level. BTW Mercenaries get more expensive as you level so by waiting to level you can get a party on the cheap because of course level 1 mercenaries are the cheapest.
@@ericevans9186 Its bug. It say mercenary cost 500gp but in reality it lower your cash just by 100gp. Very nice bug :) BTW this is best advise what someone can tell you about PF. If you can kick all trashy companies in the asses on lvl 1 then game is much much better.
@@jakubkonecny7369 Cool, what I do is start as Asmimar Aldori Swordlord then switch to a Crusader Cleric of Erastil. Then I hire a Asimar Divine Guardian Pali, A Tiefling Flame Warden Ranger, A Dwarven 2 Handed Fighter , A 1/2 Elf Aldor Sword who switches to a straight Rogue, and another Aldori Swordlord that switches to a sage Sorcerer thats a Tiefling..

Then swith to force bombs :D Bye bye wildhunt monarchs :D get bombed!
Difficulty : as many have noted on the Internet, and as you do also but more vaguely, Challenging is the closest to the core PF rules and I recommend it for those with experience or who like to play slowly or tactical. Of course, it depends how much time and suffering you are willing to invest in the game :P, but being close to the core rules means the game will be more balanced, but Normal difficulty is fine and can speed up the playthrough a bit. nb: One thing I do not want from the core rules though are the Critical Hits: they do waaaay too much damage, making luck/bad luck too extreme (though they require more than just a 20). So I would suggest Challenging, but toning down Critical Hits.
Build Churches. Seriously. You can gain boosts in almost every kingdom stat by solving the kingdom quests... but for some reason, it's not very easy to get enough piety to branch off to the arcane.
You can also just turn spell snapping off in the controls options (under the mouse controls header). As far as I can tell, there is zero downside to that, unless your ocd requires you put that fireball spell dead center between the eyes of your enemy, that is :D
Having a good party layout is more than just OCD, because some enemy units have AoE spells and abilities... so if your party stands close together, that is bad.
1) After Pathfinder: Kingmaker AND Divinity: Original Sin 2 I will NEVER AGAIN play a CRPG without watching first a "Things I wish I knew before playing..." video on TH-cam! Screwed those two games just by not knowing some basic stuff. 2) Your channel has the best name and the best logo of any RPG channel. Congrats!
So Valerie is a character type i like to call the "Spook n' Smash" Melee build. she's based around using intimidate in combat to demoralize foes and give them a -2 to many important stats, or outright cause them to flee. it's a good beginner build which can (with some feats on the actual tabletop) be made to be incredibly useful.
@@Traumatree no prob! another thing to keep in mind is that she's tanky, but slow so draw aggro with her as much as you can and put her in places where foes have to go through to get to your squishy peeps in the back. also, give her a composite bow as soon as you can, it's an excellent answer for her slow speed. the last thing she shouldn't be without is a way to damage swarms, as they are her kryptonite, it's almost impossible for her to damage them with her sword, so stuff like alchemist fire or acid will make her way more well rounded. that's what i love about fighters, even if you build them a certain way, you can give them a couple of pieces of extra gear to make them useful in any situation. you'd never think to give valerie a bow, and yet she's half decent with a good composite longbow. not nearly good enough to replace your casters or the ranger you get later, but she's a decent backup.
Great video! I found this one at random and I like it! Gonna see if you have any more video's on pathfinder...I would like to see your build on Valerie. And maybe on some other standard chars.. All I find are total respecs and that is something I do not like
I just got the game, I loved playing both Divinity Orginal Sin games...But this just seems like a whole different beast. I'm curious how it will play, any solid build names I should research ?
Well your in for a treat this is a great game, but a very long one. One playthrough can easily take 200 hours. So i would say take a good look at the class selection and pick something that intrests you personally (for me it was a rogue), because your gunna be stuck with it for a long time. There are alot of strong builds out there. Knifemaster rouge, arcane trickster, scaledfist monks, fighters, sylvan sorcerer summoners, rangers, kineticist's are some of the class's that jump out to me as some of the most powerfull.

My character is a gish build from D&D. Paladin/Monk/Sorcerer. The AC and saves get ridiculously high. You can either be a tank or sit back and sling spells.
On my first playthrough I choosed hard, after I beat somoothly through lvl 1 crazy ass looking armoured assassins in intro, my whole gang got mauled by lvl 3 deer I accidentally attacked (shouldnt do that) :D But amazing game though. One of the best iso RPGs I ever played
The biggest tip of all. Avoid "Hard" and "Unfair" at all costs. The developers think that making the same mobs have 2.5x the AC and damage rolls, makes the game "harder". They are wrong. So is anyone who agrees with them. They could of changed the mob densities, or changed the mobs that spawn in particular areas to higher CR mobs. Instead they just think adding blanket buffs to all the numbers of all the mobs makes it difficult. They are wrong, it just makes it IMPOSSIBLE to play without save scumming. Stick to normal, you won't miss out on anything.
@Hauke Holst There is only so much min-maxing you can do before you have to use exploits or extreme meta builds, that have little to do with roleplaying a character. Just the tutorial area alone is pretty much impossible to get through on harder difficulties than normal. Say you have a well-skilled rogue, +4 or +5 modifier on attack rolls from clever attribute and trait picking (which is really really good at level 1), well guess what... You will still miss ALL your attacks because the very first enemies have an AC of 20-22 (melee fighters) and 17-19 (wizards / sorcerers / bowmen). Meaning that you will have to constantly roll 17+ in order to hit every attack. But because this is one of THOSE games you will be rolling below 10 plenty of times. That alone is already difficult, but your enemies also deal more damage and land their own attacks more frequently since attack rolls are also boosted (also +4 or +5 or something, definitely really whacky). You can have a pretty damn good AC with 18 and still get hit every other attack. Add the fact that you are level 1, when your HP pool often barely scratches the two digit numbers and you're left with a situation where you constantly get one-shot and have no meaningful options of preparing against it. OP is right, the game's difficulty is absolute non-sense - Typical "our game is soooo hard it's special" snowflake difficulty, no real thought behind it or maybe they ran out of time so used it as a bandaid solution, but either way - The developers messed up big time. It always is a telltale sign of bad game development when higher difficulty means raw base stat buffs. Contrary to that it's a sign of good game development when encounters continue to be handcrafted but are mixed up, with artifical intelligence increased or new options for engagements for the enemy factions enabled. The higher difficulties here were simply phoned in and it's not like you have time later in the game to balance it out with extra grind. The game puts you on a constant clock and if you make the horrible mistake of taking your time and enjoying the gameplay, then you get the game over screen. You may even brick a save file if you don't watch it. Very disappointing, because the game otherwise is fun, especially with the turn-based mod.
I just barely started, and Ive spent way more timr creating my character and three npcs lol first time playing a dnd style gamd like this and man I'm having a blast
This is such a hard game if you’re a noob like me. Level 2 and everything team wipes lol. This is gonna take a while to figure out 😅. Thanks for the great tips.
And here I am playing on Normal with heavier enemy damage, getting my ass kicked... Thanks for this video, I find none of the important shit is ever covered in walkthough or tutorial sections.
I had no troubles running my party on Normal without cleric 80% of the time (the other 20 were either for sale of damaging undead or RP reasons too). The game throws enough money, healing potions and spell scrolls, plus opportunities to rest
Clerics are freaking crazy. I have tanky cleric with positive channeling. And another negative channel cleric who does nothing but summon monsters and undead. I'm actually considering an all cleric party
I’m a D&D 5e player and haven’t really ever been a fan of the real time with pause combat but this game has gripped me! Learning the 3.5 system is still a work in progress but I’m really enjoying the challenge and building my party. Just took down the Stag Lord last night! Thanks for the helpful tips!!
If you're not a fan of real time with pause, then you'll be happy to know that this game has a mod that makes combat play out in rounds like the tabletop game. Just search for it on the nexus, it's very good.
4:35 I actually tried a run with an almost full cleric party xD (2paladins and 4 crusaders, you get what I'm trying to do here). the survivability is ridiculous with that party comp and I rest way less often. I didn't finish the game with this party yet I had 2 previous run so I'm currently on another game but I'll definitively get back to it to see if I can manage to finish the game with that comp.

Kingmaker was the game that finally convinced me that alignment was stupid, when my Paladin's alignment shifted for making too many "good" choices and not enough lawful ones.
I love this game. Hard is actually hard. If you don't build your character/s right from level 1 (with knowledge from level 17) you need to restart. You can't respec builds, so hit restart. Your companions aren't min/maxed in a game which requires min/maxing, restart. If you mess up the kingdom management, restart. If you take too long, restart. And I haven't got space for the reload list.
670 hrs. You newb. 😁 This game is so replayable. Back when it came out, I used to play it to the Bloom and park the character. Now that all the problems are sorted, I ended up playing with new characters anyway. Lol. And that's aside from the number of times I got to the end of chapter 1 and said, "You know...I bet *this* would be more fun." Yes, chronic restart syndrome is me.
guys. in spell bar, there are number like 5/6 etc. like magic missile 4. when i use that spell the number goes to 3. what was that mean? and if that number go to 0. i cant use it anymore??
I think it's still there, although the lesser quests/events/projects, aka "everything else" below, don't matter much I think if you set kingdom management to Easy and never fail. An Ancient Curse: Get to the Bald Hilltop! > Main Story Quest > Companion Quests > everything else Maybe get in the habit of mashing the pause button whenever you need time to think, so time does not pass when your party is standing still. Should be plenty of time though.
I have OCD as well and I actually cringed when he said that in the video because it has nothing to do with OCD. It's frustrating to me whenever people mention "OCD" like some weird perfectionist trait, when actually they have no f... idea what is it about. To anyone who is reading it, please understand that OCD is not about keeping stuff clean and organised. It is mental disorder that can be very destructive to your life. If you like to organise your stuff on the desk and keep it clean that doesn't mean you have OCD.
@@Kalbarrr No it does not however OCD is wildly diverse dependent on the individual. It varies from person to person, the mistake people often make is in trying to put it in a box like over washing hands and such. You are correct it is extraordinarily intrusive in ones life, I know this from personal experience.
How about you fuck off and play games that already have the style of gameplay you like instead of wanting to change things that others like. There aren't enough rtwp games out there and we've already lost baldur's gate to the tb crowd.

The thing that what I state does not get along with your likes and beliefs is irrelevant to me and literally to the whole world. Look at pillars eternity 2. They have both systems and so have a bigger target groop and different kind of players are going to enjoy and consume the product (ergo less unemployment on the side)... Why don't you get your joy by your type of games and let others have theirs in their way... You are at least a being incapable of think 1 meter further of his own self!
7:48 I do agree with other points. This one though was kind of vague. Personally i didn't care about this side of the game, but i didn't want to auto-resolve it. Kingdom Resolution mod makes handling your kingdom really easy. I hated spendng weeks to level my advisors so i made it a 3-day task. I set other activitiest at 50% duration and didn't bother with this aspect of the game at all.
That Inspect feature I actually didn't realize till just the other day. LOL I just assumed it was some ability to discover hidden cache or doors..... like most other RPGs. I had no idea that was what it did till I saw someone else's build video and saw that they moused over an enemy and all those stats popped up. I was like "What the Hell is that?! Where is that in the options? Is that a mod?" LMAO Didn't know about the holding CTRL key for aiming.... learning stuff every damn day still.
I was wondering if you could do a companion guide for Tristan? I prefer him over Harrim, although I see your point with Harrim, but other than playing a MC cleric I like Tristan better.
Holding Ctrl is not working for me now. It's driving me nuts! None of the aoe spells, or flasks, will allow it. It's only allowing me to target. I can see the cursor turn upside down, but it won't cast
Another thing to remember is that lawful characters have an edge in kingdom management. They have access to a cheap structure called a Bulletin Board, which gives a bonus to resolving problems in the area. Build one in each new town as soon as you settle them.
5e dnd? sorta applicable. A lot of the spells are named the same and do similar things. But it's based off of 3.5 so the scaling of things is wonky. like in 5e you'd never run into anything over 25 AC but I just fought a boss with 47 AC so y'know. Some elements are kinda similar to 4th too, like the different types of defenses.
Instead of advantage or disadvantage, you need to stack modifiers via math to get big bonuses. That’s why modifiers of the same type DONT stack (to keep it from being completely broken) Also more things are done via feats, like adding DEX to damage. But you get a good supply of them.
There is some story stuff that massively affects the game based on certain choices. There are also certain bugs to avoid. These are flaws to the game, but barring these issues the list you made is pretty good.
This version of Pathfinder Kingmaker, taking it as a Pillars Of Eternity type video game, I like it a lot... but I as a player and game master who was meet the role-playing manuals of this Adventure Path the truth is I was somewhat disappointed by the limitations and simplifications. But, ok. One question: Can the Alchemists here create healing potions? I would like to try to run the campaign without any clergy, and then deal with his absence with an Alchemist. The only thing that worries me is the issue of the death of a character... although that would give more drama and importance or tension to situations. But just in case, can the Druids here resurrect dead allies or reincarnate them? Haha, the Reincarnation spell is my favorite spell of all Pathfinder (followed by Dominate Person and Wish spells).
I remember, some years ago, I was the Gm of a party looking for a wish. By the time they got it, they knew of so much people ruined by wishes, how dangerous was to use them, how many bad people and "other things" where looking for them to take it and the struggle the party was enduring by different views and concerns about the formula, that they wished to never had found it.
Good game but they really need to stream line it more. I understand that they are wanting to adhere to the pen and paper game but the complexity of it is really offputting to causal players. If the bottom line is sales then make the game more accessible to more players.
luckily their bottem line is not sales, but making a true Pathfinder experience on the PC. If that type of game is too complex for somebody there are a million other games they can play. Dumbing down is BAD, there should be a CHOICE of games, from Candy Crush to Eve Online and everything in between.
Persuasion is easy :D I have a half elf sorcerer with skill focus on persuasion and a viper companion (thanks to the Arcane Bloodline). So at level 10 she has a bonus of 24 to persuasion rolls.

I know I'm late but torches work on swams as a mele plus burn.
109 hours, 80 of those were probably spent n character creation
Took me 40-50 hours to finish act 1. Where you gain access to your kingdom. This game is MEATY
YES!!! LOL!!
Things I wish I knew:
1. AC IS GOD
2. Boost your AC
3. Keep
4. That
5. AC
6. UP
7. SON
Alchemist (Jubi) is God
Absolute lad, thanks.
Got PF:Kingmaker couple months ago free from the Epic store, good to have people like you handing out QOL stuff like that.
2:15 Holy crap thank you for this! Very helpful video overall, well done.
Set Kingdom Management setting to effortless if you don't like it being a pain in the ass. It doesn't change the difficulty to custom either, it stays normal, hard or whatever you got it at. Don't set it to automatic, it removes any ability for you to make choices with your Kingdom.
Thanks for the CTRL! I was so annoyed by the snap-to!
On 2nd play through. Didn't know either.
isn't there an in-game tip about it? i'm pretty sure i read it in my 2nd run (1st finished after like 20 minutes)
Is there a way to do it on console
I feel bad for people who haven't played 3.5 or pathfinder pen and paper before playing this game. Its just so much to take in.
Eventually. It's supposed to take 40 hours to get your kingdom, right? ;)
Just the "ranks" in skills for some classes will confuse people as they think bonuses count.
In the fact that there are evil and morally-grey NPC's we can chose to bring in our party (if we so chose to play as evil rulers).
a few things about the unfair difficulty, it is almost broken:
Enemies will kill(not going unconscious) in one hit if they ever crit and dropping(going unconscious) your character in two hits if they don't.
Great tips! Especially the one @2:15. Thanks!
OMG that was so annoying i spend a lot of time lining them up lol thanks for tip awesome !!!
For free, you mean?its cost 2000 for creating one companion

Thank you for the tutorial of this interesting game here. I will take what I have learned and use it on the battlefield.

You can gain boosts in almost every kingdom stat by solving the kingdom quests... but for some reason, it's not very easy to get enough piety to branch off to the arcane.
I've been playing for roughly 15 hours and just learning about the inspect key lol. Thank you
I love Your channel name, the concept is brilliant!
CTRL key tip for spells is the best one!
You can also just turn spell snapping off in the controls options (under the mouse controls header). As far as I can tell, there is zero downside to that, unless your ocd requires you put that fireball spell dead center between the eyes of your enemy, that is :D
@ 5:06 Okay fine i hear ya'. Does it *have* to be "Eeyore the specialty Priest of Depression" though?
Having a good party layout is more than just OCD, because some enemy units have AoE spells and abilities... so if your party stands close together, that is bad.
I have owned this game for a while but i am just now about to dive in to it :D ( ima noob tho )
I know I'm late to this video and owning this game. But thank you for this.
Totally hitting like for teaching me how to set up a custom formation and appease my OCD at the same time

2) Your channel has the best name and the best logo of any RPG channel. Congrats!
Thanks for the info. Definitely going to give this game a try.
Omg, alignment to the grid in the custom formation menu...
Blind fight on everyone by level 14. It won't make sense until it does, but it'll save hours of reloading+respec gold.
So Valerie is a character type i like to call the "Spook n' Smash" Melee build. she's based around using intimidate in combat to demoralize foes and give them a -2 to many important stats, or outright cause them to flee. it's a good beginner build which can (with some feats on the actual tabletop) be made to be incredibly useful.
lol I never used intimidate with her. Might try that! Thx
Can't wait for this on PS4 big fan of isometric Western rpg's.... Ever since BG 1-2 on PC back in good ol days of 98'.
Could HAVE. Could "of" is not a word.
@@soggie7157 could have is also not a word
@Hauke Holst
There is only so much min-maxing you can do before you have to use exploits or extreme meta builds, that have little to do with roleplaying a character.

Just took down the Stag Lord last night! Thanks for the helpful tips!!
If you're not a fan of real time with pause, then you'll be happy to know that this game has a mod that makes combat play out in rounds like the tabletop game. Just search for it on the nexus, it's very good.

THis video is nothing to laugh at these are some SUPERB tips for playing this game! +1 sub
And I haven't got space for the reload list.
the undead elf is kinda like a half cleric and i found that have just her is an ok substitute.
The priest spellbook is pretty front-loaded, when it comes to the essential spells that no party should leave town without, it's true.
I'm not getting those yellow and red AOE preview circles at all. How to enable them?
160 hours in game. Y-key whaaaat? 😱
670 hrs. You newb. 😁
This game is so replayable. Back when it came out, I used to play it to the Bloom and park the character. Now that all the problems are sorted, I ended up playing with new characters anyway. Lol. And that's aside from the number of times I got to the end of chapter 1 and said, "You know...I bet *this* would be more fun."
Yes, chronic restart syndrome is me.

I love that its RTWP and not turn base
Great video, thanks man.
It's the time limit really that bad? Or is it patched?
I think it's still there, although the lesser quests/events/projects, aka "everything else" below, don't matter much I think if you set kingdom management to Easy and never fail.
An Ancient Curse: Get to the Bald Hilltop! > Main Story Quest > Companion Quests > everything else
Maybe get in the habit of mashing the pause button whenever you need time to think, so time does not pass when your party is standing still. Should be plenty of time though.
Dude, I have OCD and when you said the hold shift, I said thank you just as you said your welcome all you ocd people. That just made my day.
:)
The thing that what I state does not get along with your likes and beliefs is irrelevant to me and literally to the whole world.
Look at pillars eternity 2. They have both systems and so have a bigger target groop and different kind of players are going to enjoy and consume the product (ergo less unemployment on the side)...

Very Useful Video!!!
I hope you do a let's play I know the game is long but seeing your tips in action would be fantastic
Another thing to remember is that lawful characters have an edge in kingdom management. They have access to a cheap structure called a Bulletin Board, which gives a bonus to resolving problems in the area. Build one in each new town as soon as you settle them.
How transferable are the rules from 5e to this game?
5e dnd? sorta applicable.
That’s why modifiers of the same type DONT stack (to keep it from being completely broken)
Also more things are done via feats, like adding DEX to damage. But you get a good supply of them.
the have turn based mode now, which you can switch in and out anytime ,
Very useful info for have all on it place
love your channel name! lmao
I also would like to see what type of character you would build in your second or third playthrough to maximize checks challenges and persuasion rolls
Persuasion is easy :D I have a half elf sorcerer with skill focus on persuasion and a viper companion (thanks to the Arcane Bloodline). So at level 10 she has a bonus of 24 to persuasion rolls.
- that you csn manage the team for assigning tasks.
The level up was strange for me, why having like 20 columns for dragon disciple if you only get to level 10.
