I've said it before and I'll say it again Batman Beyond should not have worked, but it did. It proves you can have an outlandish and wild concept but with good writing and execution can make it work.
I actually think it's more consistent than any of the og batman shows, they had good episodes but a lot of highs and lows, while beyond has hit after hit, wouldn't be here without those other shows, but straight up bests the old shows with just how it feels more adult and has stakes, fantastic!!!!
I love the show and have great memories of it. My best friend and late brother was a big fan of it just like me. One of the best shows to come from a premiere on The WB Sunday Night and kick butt on Kids’ WB!
Idk why Warner bros don’t realize it’s 2024 we want a new Batman specifically beyond they need to learn from marvel and update like they did with Spider-Man
Batman Beyond is the best Batman show ever IMHO. The arcing storyline with Bruce having to surrender the mantle of Batman to Terry, yet struggling to preserve his legacy while learning to give Terry the freedom to grow and Terry trying to not only live up to the legacy of the original Batman but also trying to carve out his own identity was very compelling and entertaining. I really hope we get a live action BB with Michael Keaton as Bruce.
I still want to see Michael Keaton return as an old Bruce Wayne helping Terry in the future. Can't you see Keaton driving a Batman mech suit? They could do what they did in the Iron Man movies... only Batman style. Light his eyes and mouth. Keep the rest of Bruce's face in the dark.
“the villains aren’t memorable” is more of a critique on your own memory than the actual show. If your brain is not over saturated with Batman content, then they are perfectly memorable. That’s the trick 🤣🤣
“What next Batman” It’s crazy to think I never watched this show in my life. Might get to it one day. I’m watching the animated series first, then I might check out new adventures of Batman, then maybe see this after I finish the first the caped crusader new series.
I prefer beyond over the animated series when it comes to better pacing. My main problem with Batman beyond is that it was more focus on being an action show than dedicating episodes to develop the characters with their relationships or personalities. Which is what the animated series did, there were episodes that were not focusing on action, but understanding the villains more or understanding the mindset of Bruce. We get small glimpses of Terry and Bruce’s relationship, but they really don’t last long at all. Terry’s relationship with his girlfriend had no development and it was the same back-and-forth every time we got with them. I just wish there was more focus on personal character growth, then action more. I still prefer Batman beyond more as a watchable series than the original Batman animated series, regardless of my flaws. 🦇
The only about Batman Beyond that I Don’t understand….was how is this Live Action movie not been made. We’ll likely see a Spider-Man 2099 before it now. *I then thought to self “well DC can’t even make solid movies for their main heroes…but it’d be a great thing to see
Thank you so much for videos like this it's so amazing to see someone put in good effort and I hope that your an amazing creator pls continue to upload you make amazing videos
terry's relationship is cool because we see a more human side to bruce. he actually cracks jokes with terry in their banter. something he never really did with the robins or babs.
I highly recommend Batman Beyond 2.0. Its a rehashing of the series in comic form but fills in a lot more context especially with his relationships and continues the story as well.
My favorite Batman animated series of all time! This show still rules and I remember we had JUST gotten our own The WB and Kids’ WB! Network on January 1st, 1999. The first new show I watched that wasn’t a rerun was Batman Beyond on January 10th, 1999. I fell in love with it from the first second. I remember Starlog Magazine talking about this show and it got me even more hyped. I watched that Sunday night premiere and it became my favorite Kids’ WB! show ever, only dethroned by Pokemon when that premiered and got my attention later that year. Still is my second favorite and my favorite non anime Kids’ WB! show of all time. Ty lots for doing this content Vee! My late brother and best friend and I are huge fans of the show and I know whenever I watch it that he’s watching with me. You bring back great memories and I appreciate it a lot. Keep the fantastic stuff coming please and, btw, I remember a different clip show opening that night of January 10th before the show itself started. Unfortunately, it’s apparently lost media.
Batman Beyond was a fantastic show. It would've been interesting if Terry & Maxine ended up as a couple. Just saying she knew about Terry being the new Batman & Bruce having been OG Batman. Maxine knew Terry had a lot going on & knew why he was often late. She even could've become a new Batgirl
Earthmover is the most memorable episode in my opinion, and a wonderful call back to the BTAS Universal Studios Classic Monsters ' inspirational roots. ( From Batman Beyond Season 2)
Batman beyond has always been in the same vein as amazing spider man to me, the precursors were more mature adults that I admired as a kid but Terry as Batman and Andrew as Spidey were both much more relatable characters (and are probably 95% of the reason my sarcasm has stayed at such a high level as an adult)
I remember being a mix of hyped and unsure when the promos for this show dropped. But I was a big Batman fan and I wanted to give it a chance. took a bit of warming up but I grew to love this show as much as Batman TAS. I'm still annoyed that we haven't gotten a live action Beyond movie.
Given they killed off the most compelling of Terry's rouges gallery, in the first season (Blight), I wouldn't exactly call Batman Beyond "perfect". That said, it's damn well close to perfection.
The only thing I disagree with is the “different person” thing. I think they have a lot in common and not just because he was revealed to be Bruce’s son .
I think if Batman as we knew it before wasn't already as hugely popular as it was batman beyond could have gone further. I love OG Bruce as batman but I love Terry's spin on batman more. Since I saw this show as a teenager I could somewhat relate to Terry because I was about his age. I felt it would have been great to grow up with a new take on batman instead of the original story of batman.
Sad Kevin convoy I met Jim you forgot my favourite enemy shriek. A sound engineer powers hires to make Bruce insane and during a fight is rendered deaf comes back so. He has a vendetta he’s my favourite charater
What next Batman? But seriously though Batman Beyond slaps. This show was my first exposure to the Batman mythos beforehand I only heard about Batman through comedy shows. It also made me pause and think in a lot of its episodes like “Heroes” and “April Moon”, wondering whatever happened to so and so, and only to put the pieces together and find out that they are dead at the end of the episode. Sure the show had its problems but it was a fun show to watch and still is to this day.
I just finished watching this show a few days ago and was watching old Batman videos of yours and you put this out the next day. Crazy coincidence no one else will care about but me. Edit: What's next, Batman?
An we’ll never see this show or shows like it again. Because “modern” Batman lore seems incapable of the SUBTLE complexity of the BTAS and Batman Beyond pantheon. Those 2 shows are the best example of the value of censorship.
One of things that I've come to like is that HEAVY SPOILERS - - - - - - - Terry was secretly Bruce son. He was setup to become Batman, but when the setup failed, he became the vigilante by his own choice.
Not gonna never like this interpretation of Batman or Terry McGinnis he feels like a edgy Dick Grayson and we already have the best next Batman. Need more Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake love here.
The show had a great concept but looking back it doesnt have many memorable episodes. The writing was very Saturday morning cartoon and lacked the pathos or elevated character work from BTAS.
We will never get a pass the torch series this good ever again. These days a show like this would make Bruce look pathetic and get replaced by a genderless checkbox calling him a Fascist.
I've said it before and I'll say it again Batman Beyond should not have worked, but it did. It proves you can have an outlandish and wild concept but with good writing and execution can make it work.
that's right you said it
Why shouldn't it work? The idea of Spider-Man was out for over 30 years at the time
You're absolutely right.
Batman Beyond is GOATED, recently rewatched it couple months ago and it still holds up 🔥
Only good memories with this show
I actually think it's more consistent than any of the og batman shows, they had good episodes but a lot of highs and lows, while beyond has hit after hit, wouldn't be here without those other shows, but straight up bests the old shows with just how it feels more adult and has stakes, fantastic!!!!

Never forget how fkn baller this show’s soundtrack is
💯%
Still can’t believe they scrapped that Batman Beyond animated film.
Idk why Warner bros don’t realize it’s 2024 we want a new Batman specifically beyond they need to learn from marvel and update like they did with Spider-Man
I’m 100% here for this.
Old man Bruce is so underrated. The Terry/Bruce relationship is one of my favorites.
I agree. "What next, Batman?" was a great call back in that episode.
Still want a live action movie of this
Same. Thoughts on the casting?
Terry McGuiness deserves his own live action movie.
Thoughts on casting?
@@seanmalloy0528 me.
I'm so beyond happy this show is finally getting it's much deserved recognition. I need a movie with Terry so bad
Batman Beyond is the best Batman show ever IMHO. That intro rules
Batman Beyond is an amazing series. Terry is one of my favorite DC characters.
“the villains aren’t memorable” is more of a critique on your own memory than the actual show. If your brain is not over saturated with Batman content, then they are perfectly memorable. That’s the trick 🤣🤣
Fr. I’ll always remember the baddie, 10.
This television show is amazing i can't wait for the Batman part 2 coming in October 2nd
“What next Batman” It’s crazy to think I never watched this show in my life. Might get to it one day. I’m watching the animated series first, then I might check out new adventures of Batman, then maybe see this after I finish the first the caped crusader new series.
Terry is one of my favorite characters in the batman mythology

Love this show I used to watch it on Saturday mornings I think on the discovery channel,I still listen to the theme song to this day
Old Bruce is like Oracle and Alfred to Terry.
Dana gets more depth in the online comics, expanding her backstory and family history. Danas brother gets introduced and becomes a rogue for Terry
terry's relationship is cool because we see a more human side to bruce. he actually cracks jokes with terry in their banter. something he never really did with the robins or babs.
*I always thought Terry's little brother was going to end up being Robin Beyond.......*
My 1st time seeing the Royal Flush Gang was the last season of superfriends.
I highly recommend Batman Beyond 2.0. Its a rehashing of the series in comic form but fills in a lot more context especially with his relationships and continues the story as well.
Is that the series where they bring eyepatch Nightwing in as a sort of mentor to Terry but he's also still quite cold towards Bruce still?
My favorite Batman animated series of all time! This show still rules and I remember we had JUST gotten our own The WB and Kids’ WB! Network on January 1st, 1999. dude, seriously, as much as we all love the original one, i always thought the red suit looked even cooler
What Next Batman!
This show is pretty much "what if Peter Parker was Batman?"
Can't wait to see you cover season 2!
I love this show. It reminds me of Akira.
What next batman
I would prefer if Terry ended up with Royal Flush Gang girl
same
What's next Batman?
This is one of my favorite version of Batman one of my favorite animated cartoons
Earthmover is the most memorable episode in my opinion, and a wonderful call back to the BTAS Universal Studios Classic Monsters ' inspirational roots. ( From Batman Beyond Season 2)

Always happy to see someone put some respect on Batman Beyond’s name. Great video man 🤝
What next, Batman!

Should’ve been called the best Batman future show
I love this show, it's my favorite Batman show.
Batman Beyond most def in my Top 5 cartoons. Up there with Danny Phantom, Men In Black's show and Avatar
peak theme song too
6:39 I mean, Return of the Joker revealed why Bruce took on bein Batman alone and why it affected his social life.
i love Inque, she was such an awesome villain
More Batman Beyond, please!!!!
What Next, Batman? My god i loved batman Beyond, its so nice to see people exploring its impact
This series was fused with the zeta project 🙂
Batman Beyond is my favorite next to BTAS. 'What next Batman?'
I think if Batman as we knew it before wasn't already as hugely popular as it was batman beyond could have gone further.

Great series and it should have been continued
I would love to see You Do season 2 Of this Show I love it❤❤
Jokers made a few appearances in the DCAU.
Bight Derrick Powers is Terry's Norman Osborn Green Goblin
What next Batman?
But seriously though Batman Beyond slaps. This show was my first exposure to the Batman mythos beforehand I only heard about Batman through comedy shows. Rest in peace Kevin Conroy.
the mutant leader would work very well as a batman beyond villain, it would be if his character was brought into main dc continuity one day
I only wish there was an episode Dick Grayson working with Terry and him reuniting with Bruce.
Love this series. I would really like to know ur top ten favorite episodes out of the whole show! or you could do an in depth tier list maybe??
WHAT NEXT BATMANNNNNNN.. i need more😔
I just finished watching this show a few days ago and was watching old Batman videos of yours and you put this out the next day. Crazy coincidence no one else will care about but me.
Edit: What's next, Batman?
What’s next Batman
“What next Batman”
I think Bruce is in his 70s in the beginning of Batman Beyond.
The only thing that hurt the show was the lack memorable villains
How come you’re not doing a video about MAX’s The Penguin? I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Might be time for another rewatch thats if hbo max keeps the show if i get back on
Fans have been asking for a BatMan video game or a BatMan movie for Years now. What is WB doing? This would be *Goldmine.*
What's next Batman.
what next batman?
Too bad we may never get a Batman Beyond movie with Michael Keaton as old Bruce.
An we’ll never see this show or shows like it again. Because “modern” Batman lore seems incapable of the SUBTLE complexity of the BTAS and Batman Beyond pantheon. Those 2 shows are the best example of the value of censorship.
_What next, Batman?_
I wouldnt say no to a live action batman with Michael Keaton as old man bruce wayne and have tom Holland be terry mcgunnis it would be perfect 👌
I think Bruce had some social life before he lost Harvey.
Blyte has no connection to Spellbinder or the Cobra terrorist organization in the series.
Do Season II & III . The Comic Book Version is So - So O.K.
At least a few baddies bit the dust in this show for once.
Including Joker.
Dam I'm early

Who was upset when we got gaslighted by the new Batman logic literally thought it was gonna be Batman beyond only one can dream😂😂😂
WHAT NEXT BATMAN
We will never get a pass the torch series this good ever again.
These days a show like this would make Bruce look pathetic and get replaced by a genderless checkbox calling him a Fascist.
Where’s twisted metal part 2 bro?
DC needs to bring back Terry McGinnis and ditch Damon Wayne
