    As soon as I read she bought a "fixer upper" I knew those of us who follow this girl were in for a treat. This girl is a legend and consistently out performs the so called experts you see on TV. Get your popcorn folks the upcoming projects are going to be outstanding. Thanks Stef

    I like that you replaced the garage door seal, too - so many times we forget about basic maintenance in our rush to make things "pretty." Nice job.

    Graco UltraMax. Great for painting and fine finishing. You can pre-pour out those nifty plastic containers, spray from any angle etc. Pricey, but you''ll only need one. With phase 1 of the makeover complete you're off a great start.

    You just gave me the incentive to do my garage floors. But first...clean out everything I do not need, and empty the garage. Now to wait until I see what I am sure will be wonderful storage ideas. Thank you for sharing. 🚗

    Awesome video and amazing garage update! If you ever paint CMU again I would suggest using an acrylic block filler for the initial coat. Concrete block is very porous and this filler base coat is really thick getting into all the pours, cracks, and holes (making final paint coats faster/cheaper/easier). Hope this helps!

    Hi Stefani,
    That is to bad about the sprayer not working right , the old school way may took a little longer but from what I see yet white and the grey paint on the floor sure makes it pop ,
    Fantastic job.

    Hey Stefani - I have the same paint sprayer and and found that thinning out the paint so that it will flow better makes a BIG difference in how it sprays. You can thin out acrylic paint with water and I usually do 7-10% at a minimum and go up from there depending on the paint. I have gotten some great finishes from the Super Finish Max sprayer doing this. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing how the garage turns out!

    Great work! I just painted my garage also. I have cement brick along the bottom and I found using a regular paint brush on the cement joints worked best and used less paint. I used the roller on the rest. It does soak up that paint though!

    Great work so far. I feel your pain with painting cinder block with a roller. I did that some months back and it is very time consuming but gets the job done eventually! Also I just want to give you a fair warning on the Rust-oleum epoxy shield... yes, I can tell you're a Home Depot shopper because that's what I am as well. I bought the Rust-oleum epoxy and it looked fantastic for about a year before it started peeling. However, I do park my car in the garage so I'm sure whatever road debris dripped off my car like road salt, etc, probably didn't help it's longevity. If I do decide to epoxy it again, I'm likely going to go with one of the higher quality online solutions like Leggari Products or I might post a question to the youtuber "Fix This Build That" who recently epoxied his garage and ask him how his floor is holding up.

    What do you use for storage now that you took all the shelves out? I see a lot of people going with a minimal look, but it seems it takes away some of the functionality of a garage.

  • @georgehernandez4195
    @georgehernandez4195 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks great 👍🏻. You need a better paint sprayer. That should have been a whole lot easier. Also get a socket adapter for ur drill. Makes changing out those garage hinges a whole lot quicker than using an adjustable wrench.

    I'm really excited by this because I swear we have the exact same garage and I've been wanting to do this for forever. Thanks very much! It really doesn't look hard and I think I can handle this. Our basement and garage are connected but our floors throughout were used by the previous owners animals as a potty area :( so its been super nasty in spite of the fact I have scrubbed it many times. So the etching/cleaner would remove a lot of those stains do you think? I will have to read about that. My hope is that the paint would cover anything that the etching/cleaner doesn't remove. Thanks! :)

      @@robertgiresi9515 yes that's made for masonry applications. Shes using glidden interior paint and primer... seen at 5:59... will probably be peeling in a few years off those dirty walls

    • @robertgiresi9515
      @robertgiresi9515 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericrobertsER Good catch. I didn't notice that. Yes, she should have used a paint designed for masonry. I remember when I moved into my house, the previous owner went nutty with some cheap interior paint on my cinder block walls to upgrade it cosmetically but had zero lasting value just to pretty it up for sale. You have no idea how many hours I spent angle grinding off the chipped paint as prep work in order to repaint it properly. I agree, shortcuts today equals long hours of hassle later.

  • @pablo2097

    You should mix the epoxy evenly in the bag by cracking one side into the other one and then "paint" the whole garage floor. In this video I did not see that. Could please let us know?
    Thanks!

  • @szgiturbo
    @szgiturbo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Drilling holes on your garage door, you will break the protective barrier on your steel door allowing and expediting for corrosion to occur. You will eventually see rust formation around where you drill your fixtures in.

    Why did you have to say “hurricane season”? I just got my roof redone. Now if they can just get the Pensacola Bay bridge fixed before another barge runs into it that would be great. That’s a great project. I had a garage like that when I lived in Georgia. Excellent work!

  • @Gummy47
    @Gummy47 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Cement blocks suck up paint because you didn't use a proper primer. Prepare your support before painting it! I understand "it's just a garage" but you'll end up saving a lot of paint.
