For those who are yet to play sekiro, get mikiri counter early, and use deflect more than dodge and you’re all set. Also purchasing spirit emblems early is good because they get more expensive late game
Sekiro is the kind of game that you quit at the final boss, come back 6 months later starting fresh, and then beat the game with relative ease. It is like coming back to a boss after leveling up a few times, except in real life.
I think it's the sleep, I can't describe how many times I've been frustrated with a game at the end of the night only to wake up the next morning and beat it with relative ease. Like your brain has to sort some of the new challenges and adapts .
Finished the game today and oh man... this combat system is unmatched. The level of satisfaction of winning a fight, especially the bosses, is just unreal. Overall, Elden Ring is still my favourite but Sekiro is so so close. It's easily one of the best games ever made. I understand it's not for everyone, as it requires a lot of patience to master the combat system. But once you learn it, there's nothing quite like it.
Sekiro is awesome, 1 mistake half ur life gone or 100% gone, it's hard but once u go in that zone it's like an high, just defeated guardian ape no spear 💯💯
After Sekiro, I’m thinking about giving Elden Ring a go in the near future. I’d like to checkout some of the Dark Souls games too. I wish Bloodborne was on PC or I’d try that one next.
@@MrHoodieJones Play it now Sekiro is harder then any other souls game I think elden ring might be the most fun in terms of the great open world dark souls is also great ds2 kinda mid and the elden ring dlc is a great rival for difficulty to sekiro but you will not be doing much parrying and just about no blocking
I finally beat Sword Saint after a few years of playing this game. It's great... though there are a few design choices I'd like to see changed. 1: refilling your resurrection power. All of your resurrection pips should refill upon resting. Requiring the player to grind out some kills because they used a resurrection is tedium for no reason. 2: Multi phase bosses with no check points. The game wants you to practice and learn move sets but requires you to play through bosses and phases that you've already beaten. I get that it's to limit your resources (firecrackers are really good and having them for each phase of a boss would trivialize the game), but this seems an issue with the over-utility of the Shinobi tools that the devs solved by making bosses tedious to practice. A better solution would have been to have a second type of checkpoint where you start the particular boss or phase with the same resources you came in with and can choose to restart the encounter or awaken at the idol. Another solution would be to have any boss encountered open to be challenged from the idol. Some sort of Meditations on Victory. You could practice a particular boss or mini boss via the idol and then challenge the boss for real.
I think they do an amazing job on not making it a complete open world it's way more fun to play on a linear camping then huge open worlds in my eyes the other game that does this perfect would be god of war..
Thank you for the non-spoiler approach. I bought this game many months ago and i have just found time to play it now. I'm kinda nervous, but it looks super cool and Elden Ring was pretty manageable so i'm positive.

I’m not into all the blood in gore tho but I like the genre and I got lies of P to hold me over until stellar blade! Hopefully they make some souls like games without all the gore! Cheers great vid
Bought this game last year and played it for awhile, but stopped it. Because I was playing it like souls games, depending on Dodges which is punishable in Sekiro. Then finally picked up again from the start and Completed it. Dude this game ruined Dark Souls for me now, how can I go from deflecting to them Dodge rolls again 😅
i don't know what's up with every video title like this, but imo ...a good game is a good game, even if you decided to play it again after 20 years later ... it doesn't matter unless you're one of those old graphics phobia gamers 😅
It seems to work and I started the series of “Is It worth playing” a few years ago. So for the sake of continuity I keep it going. But people for the most part are generally curious if they missed out or not…on playing a game for the 1st time. Typically a massive amount of games come out year after year and there is only so much time to play…so some titles do get by people at first.
hey i noticed u said its ur first souls like and i just wanna say, the combat looks very similar to Lies of P which is on of my favourite souls likes, as apposed to elden ring. elden ring leans more towards rolls and dodges, whereas this game and lies of p lean towards parries and perfectly timed blocks which is way more fun imo. u should check it out sometime
Sekiro is finally on sale. Just downloaded. I’ve managed to beat all the souls, Elden ring, bloodbourne, and lies of p. So stoked to finally play this. Is it really that much harder? From what I hear you’re better off beating this first and then beating the ladder lol
At first, it will feel the hardest (you'll die a lorlt 😅) but once you understand the combat system, it's not that hard. For me, it's the most satisfying and fun souls game.
Sorry I haven’t played the others to give you a legit comparison. But this combat is elite and has some good things going for it. Good luck on your choice.
@@mac1bc ahh yes, bloodborne.. thats what started my soulsborne obsession at the moment.. played it YEARS ago, and i loved it.. but i was horrible at it.. like really bad. Elden ring is a different beast, one of my best gaming experiences ever. Get yourself some free time and dive into it for a day and you’ll be glued to it for a long time.
I haven't played those to give you my own comparisons. But from what others have told me here in the comments; the combat sticks out-- by being better and different from those games. This game is very difficult, the most difficult I’ve played.
I have 95% elden ring im bored now so im thinking about buying sekiro and i watched the video but i mostly care about 1 thing elden ring didnt have are u gona relay on the parry system heavily and is it satisfaying and hard to learn to time
Parrying attacks is much needed in this game. You will need to learn enemy patterns especially in boss fights. Timing is everything. It is a bit tricky to learn at first and can take some time. But when you do get it, yes it’s extremely satisfying.
The combat is much better than the souls games. Also buy it on PC because once you learn the game, mods will give you the extra challenge and some have tons of content
Sekiro doesn’t give you the option to lvl up and it’s much less open so you’ll have to fight your way through the challenges at the time instead of getting stronger and coming back
Not for me. Lies of P guard mechanic is better. I didnt even use it as much. Sekiro is guard souls. Your katana is so weak. Love the world and storyline but being forced to guard every boss isn't for me. Its boring imo. 100% every other From Soft game. ER DLC included.
Ps I think when guardian ape battle miyazaki fools people with the text and audio prompt that tells you you won an it took days or hours for people to get to that point then in my playthrough I was running away and turned the camera to pan backwards and like a movie I caught it perfectky picking up it’s head my mind was blown and I became teffigies of spending another billion attempts on a boss I think it’s the best modern fromsoft game imo
