I agree. I have the new Crisis Core and although it does fill in a lot of gaps with Zach and Sephiroth, it's not mandatory. It's also still old and kind of cheesy and hard to play after playing Remake. It's an old game with just the graphics updated. I think it's still using the same game engine too just updated for the new graphics. I know I didn't finish it because it just got boring. I got pretty far but just lost interest. I instead watched a playthrough to get the rest of the story. If anything that's what I would recommend rather than playing it... just watch someone else that edited out all the nonsense. Can get it done in one day and be fully up to date with the story. edit: on second thought I would not do Crisis Core because I forgot about the fact that it might spoil you. I have known the story for so long I forget that others don't.
@@Juice_Tortuga either play OG or wait until after part 3 to play Crisis Core. Honestly Crisis core is pretty mid until you get to the spoiler part of the game. Or just watch the ending cutscene of Zack in Crisis Core (since it won't spoil the plot twist) so remakes ending will confuse you even more XD.
1:00:45 Hats off to you for noticing that. Sephiroth (as well as most other bosses) will always target whoever you’re currently controlling. Using this to your advantage makes these fights much more manageable-especially on hard mode.
Oh and also, Punisher mode can’t guard against projectiles. It’s only able to counter melee strikes. There are some attacks that neither Operator nor Punisher mode can guard against, though. Those are denoted by a “/!\” symbol next to the name of your enemy’s attack, which is displayed just above their head before attacking.
It has been so awesome watching you experience this for the first time! The remake games have been some of my most favorite video games I’ve ever played and I’m so excited to see you continue to discover the story! All this to say, I’ve become a fan, and I’ve happily subscribed!
"This is pure art." That sums up something I've given a lot of thought to - video games are the highest form of art. Nothing else can combine the narrative depth of a book, the cinematography of a movie, the music of the greatest composers, art of the greatest painters/animators, and the character connection built by a long journey... all for an experience greater than the sum of its parts. And few games reach that potential to the extent of FF7. That's not to say I don't have some quibbles with it, but it truly deserves its place as a legend.
There are so many anime-inspired JRPGs, and some have even more epic stories, but in truth I'm not sure any can match the sheer production value and spectacle of FF7R. Here are some other legends though: Xenogears/Xenosaga (Most epic story ever attempted) Persona (Sheer style) Suikoden (Remasters coming - Experience your home base and army grow!) Star Ocean (Sci-fi meets fantasy - Usually high-tech char stranded on medieval planet) Valkyrie Profile (Best take on Norse mythology) Lunar (Remasters coming - Lighter but classic heartwarming anime experience) Grandia (Feel the wonder of exploration - like playing Ghibly/Laputa) Final Fantasy (And of course the rest of the series! All up to 10 amazed me)
Oh, and can't forget Chrono Trigger! Sadly the "remaster" was just a year or two before HD2D really hit its stride so there's not really a good modern version, but it's available on Steam... a fairly short, accessible RPG with multiple endings that is almost universally loved. And may be the "best" overall from that perspective.
It is incredibly interesting seeing someone reacting to Zack for the first time having no idea who he is with the way they present him in this game lmaooo Ignore anything anyone tries to tell you about Zack until you at least finish Rebirth (that is, if you plan on playing it). The story there will be mega confusing for you to wrap your head around right away. It’s usually one of the more difficult parts of the story to present to new players. Just enjoy the ride lol

Play Intermission and move on to Rebirth.

Someone in a live chat recently said that your party at the Sephiroth battle is determined by who does the fatal blows in the battles with the arbiters of fate/destiny. Not sure if this is true, I had never heard of this.
I would advise to hold off on Crisis Core because that game will spoil the plot twist that was saved for the original game, which won't happen until Part 3 of the remake trilogy. But if you're curious about Zack then you should be good because the story in Rebirth will still get you absolutely at the edge of your seat because of what changes might happen.

Ff7 is my favorite rpg of all time. Story hasn’t even got its legs yet. Play rebirth the voice actor performances go even harder. It’s like this game just upgraded in every way.

My man, I'm like you. Being a lifelong Kingdom Hearts fan (which is basically Final Fantasy and Disney rolled into one), I've always viewed Final Fantasy from afar. I never dipped my toes into it, until last year. This game and Rebirth have changed my life with its story and themes, and it's now become one of my all time games! And I've loved watching you notice the little story beats and nuisances the characters have! Those tiny details add so much to the overall arc of the story. If you loved the characters and story in this game, you will fall head over heels with them in Rebirth! Get lost in the sauce with Rebirth, my man! There's so much that game has to offer! Can't wait to continue watching your channel grow!
It’s so refreshing to see someone experiencing the FF7 universe story for the first time. It’s hella confusing at times, so viewing it through an “anime logic” perspective makes it easier to roll with. Glad to see you enjoying it! Def play the Intermission DLC before jumping into Rebirth as it introduces an interesting character and gives you context into their story that’ll help you understand em a bit better when you see them again. Bro you got me hyped for this game all over again. Think I'm gonna start another play then go into Intermission then Rebirth again. I've been here with ya the whole time and absolutely love the reactions from someone that knows nothing about FF7. My knowledge on it is so deep that it's hard for me to understand how people will react that don't know anything about it. And I'll say there were times I was yelling at my screen like "what are you doing?!?". So watching your reactions is a real treat for me and helps me expand my thought process and I thank you for that. Looking forward to Intermission and you can't skip out on Rebirth. Stop saying 'we'll see' about Rebirth. You MUST play it.

Just a warning, it took me 71 hours to complete Rebirth, and that with avoiding most of the side quest. It took me around 30 hours to finish Remake. Theres A LOT more content in this game than Remake.

You definitely need to play Rebirth. It will give you the much needed context of where the characters are going. And what the end game really is. Why Sephiroth is involved, what his motivations are, etc. Keep in mind that Remake story only takes about 3 hours of the actual game that we all played. And no, Biggs, Jessie and Wedge were just NPCs - nobody cared about them after you left Midgar. Rebirth ends at the end of Disc 1 in the original game. So there's a LOT more story left....
Hey lad, for the extra stagger damage it only applies to building the stagger meter up. So the bar just below the health bar prior to being full, if the enemy is pressured they take extra stagger damage and that is when you want to use abilities like focused strike to get enemies into stagger mode faster. When it's full and the enemy is fully staggered, you go all in with abilities like Braver or Infinities edge, do your big damage attacks and don't worry about anymore stagger damage. If your looking to multiply the stagger damage % I think for Remake only Tifa does this. And she does it the best in Rebirth too, other characters in Rebirth will as well, just not as great.

Also, biggs was the lowest down on the tower. It's likely that someone came and rescued him then delivered him to Aerith's mom because she takes care of people or had a second room available ect. That's my thoughts on it though. There are many people in avalanche if you recall back to that cool dude on the bike, that time when other avalanche people came and bailed you guys out early on.
Persona 5 is a long game then rebirth rebirth is around 50 hours to beat at least that what it took me then person5 ia almost a 100 hours game it took me a little over 91 hours to beat the story that with out getting sidetracked

Some of the cut scenes are in game while others are FMV. The ones that look extra animated are FMV..basically what a movie quality would look like, it looks even better than advent children. They reserve those for the big scenes

I can´t wait to see you play Intermission and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth! Although, Rebirth is a very long game, it´s also much better than Remake. You might want to take a break with other games before going to Rebirth, or you could even play Rebirth until you don´t want to anymore and jump to another game for a break until you feel like returning to Rebirth; of course it is your decision, it depends on how you want to experience these games and how comfortable you are playing through more than 1 game at a time. It´s possible you don´t get fatigue and you want to play Rebirth all the way through too without a break, but I don´t know what you would prefer. Regardless of whatever you decide, I´m excited to see you play Intermission, Rebirth, and other games you´re interested in too, in whatever order you choose! Regarding the story, yes, you are right in thinking that the thing with Zack is another timeline. If you noticed the back that fluttered by Zack that had Stamp on it, Stamp is a different breed to the Stamp Cloud and everyone knew earlier in Remake (when Cloud, Barret, and Tifa were trying to get to the Sector 5 reactor on the inter-plate railroad tracks). However, you´re in a very unique position as you get to experience these games without any prior knowledge of the OG or the Compilation, which is really cool, and I don´t want to ruin that for you. I don´t want to spoil it for you, so I won´t say anything else other than that you are right that what´s happening with Zack is in another timeline. In response to a question from an earlier video you posted, the games are Japanese made, as you no doubt surmised seeing the names of the writers, directors, programmers, composers, etc. (with exception to the English dub voice cast and any names involved in marketing, localization, etc., that I missed). The conceptual basis for the entire story of the original 1997 game was thought of by Hironobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura, with Sakaguchi in particular wanting to explore the theme of life as he had lost his mother in a housefire while he was working on Final Fantasy 3. Yoshinori Kitase and Kazushige Nojima then wrote the story based on input from Sakaguchi and Nomura. Nobuo Uematsu composed the soundtrack, and Yoshitaka Amano did the art. There are more people involved of course, and I am oversimplifying this a little because my comment is already getting too long and there´s a lot of history here, but for the Remake project, a lot of the original people that worked on the OG FF7 were brought back, such as Nomura, Nojima, Kitase, Uematsu (with I think(?) even Sakaguchi giving unofficial input, but this part I´m unsure of) to create these new modern games. The overall story was already created beforehand, and it was decided that there would be three games, and the story would be finished with the third one. We currently have 2 of the 3 released and we´re waiting on the final installment and praying Square can stick the landing for this final installment.

Congrats on beating the game man! From here you have a few choices: You've got the DLC which you should 100% play. It's pretty short and you could knock it out in an episode or two. Then after that you could play Crisis Core Reunion which is prequel to FF7 and gives more story on that new Zack character from the ending of this game. It's pretty short too, about 10 hours so you could honestly beat it in a few episodes before Rebirth. Or you could directly jump into FF7 Rebirth which is just like this game but even more massive, crazier combat and more beautiful cinema. Regardless of what you do, I'll be here to support your FF7 videos, it's been awesome to discover your channel from you playing this game for the first time 💚
Do not play Crisis Core unless you want spoilers for Rebirth and Part 3. Idk why people suggest that. If you want to play Crisis Core you should play the OG first or skip it until Part 3 is out. That said Rebirth is 10x the game Remake is and starts getting into the actual story of FF7.

However it was killing me to see you not take advantage of Aerith's magic power…she is the best support character and if set up properly she is great on offense too! She has over 90 MP that was mostly untouched in this final episode…since her magic stats are so high she can do good damage and heal more even with lower level spells. Something to keep in mind for next time, I hope!

Next up is the DLC side story starring YUFFIE!!!😁 Also if you want the full story on ZACK and how he knows Cloud you should play FF7 Crisis Core Reunion!

I would advise to hold off on Crisis Core because that game will spoil the plot twist that was saved for the original game, which won't happen until Part 3 of the remake trilogy. But if you're curious about Zack then you should be good because the story in Rebirth will still get you absolutely at the edge of your seat because of what changes might happen.

Ff7 is my favorite rpg of all time. Story hasn’t even got its legs yet. Play rebirth the voice actor performances go even harder. It’s like this game just upgraded in every way.

My man, I'm like you. Being a lifelong Kingdom Hearts fan (which is basically Final Fantasy and Disney rolled into one), I've always viewed Final Fantasy from afar. I never dipped my toes into it, until last year. This game and Rebirth have changed my life with its story and themes, and it's now become one of my all time games! And I've loved watching you notice the little story beats and nuisances the characters have! Those tiny details add so much to the overall arc of the story. If you loved the characters and story in this game, you will fall head over heels with them in Rebirth! Get lost in the sauce with Rebirth, my man! There's so much that game has to offer! Can't wait to continue watching your channel grow!
It’s so refreshing to see someone experiencing the FF7 universe story for the first time. It’s hella confusing at times, so viewing it through an “anime logic” perspective makes it easier to roll with.

Just a warning, it took me 71 hours to complete Rebirth, and that with avoiding most of the side quest. It took me around 30 hours to finish Remake. Theres A LOT more content in this game than Remake.
At the end of this episode of the game, the game kind of made me sad and crying a bit. It’s so sad and happy. I really hope you get to do the rebirth I would really love it.❤🙏🥺😓👍 love your videos I really hope this continues..

You definitely need to play Rebirth. It will give you the much needed context of where the characters are going. And what the end game really is. Why Sephiroth is involved, what his motivations are, etc. Keep in mind that Remake story only takes about 3 hours of the actual game that we all played. And no, Biggs, Jessie and Wedge were just NPCs - nobody cared about them after you left Midgar. Rebirth ends at the end of Disc 1 in the original game. So there's a LOT more story left....

Hey lad, for the extra stagger damage it only applies to building the stagger meter up. So the bar just below the health bar prior to being full, if the enemy is pressured they take extra stagger damage and that is when you want to use abilities like focused strike to get enemies into stagger mode faster. When it's full and the enemy is fully staggered, you go all in with abilities like Braver or Infinities edge, do your big damage attacks and don't worry about anymore stagger damage. If your looking to multiply the stagger damage % I think for Remake only Tifa does this. And she does it the best in Rebirth too, other characters in Rebirth will as well, just not as great.

Also, biggs was the lowest down on the tower. It's likely that someone came and rescued him then delivered him to Aerith's mom because she takes care of people or had a second room available ect. That's my thoughts on it though. There are many people in avalanche if you recall back to that cool dude on the bike, that time when other avalanche people came and bailed you guys out early on.
Persona 5 is a long game then rebirth rebirth is around 50 hours to beat at least that what it took me then person5 ia almost a 100 hours game it took me a little over 91 hours to beat the story that with out getting sidetracked

Some of the cut scenes are in game while others are FMV. The ones that look extra animated are FMV..basically what a movie quality would look like, it looks even better than advent children. They reserve those for the big scenes

I can´t wait to see you play Intermission and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth! Although, Rebirth is a very long game, it´s also much better than Remake. You might want to take a break with other games before going to Rebirth, or you could even play Rebirth until you don´t want to anymore and jump to another game for a break until you feel like returning to Rebirth; of course it is your decision, it depends on how you want to experience these games and how comfortable you are playing through more than 1 game at a time. It´s possible you don´t get fatigue and you want to play Rebirth all the way through too without a break, but I don´t know what you would prefer. Regardless of whatever you decide, I´m excited to see you play Intermission, Rebirth, and other games you´re interested in too, in whatever order you choose!
Regarding the story, yes, you are right in thinking that the thing with Zack is another timeline. If you noticed the back that fluttered by Zack that had Stamp on it, Stamp is a different breed to the Stamp Cloud and everyone knew earlier in Remake (when Cloud, Barret, and Tifa were trying to get to the Sector 5 reactor on the inter-plate railroad tracks). However, you´re in a very unique position as you get to experience these games without any prior knowledge of the OG or the Compilation, which is really cool, and I don´t want to ruin that for you. I don´t want to spoil it for you, so I won´t say anything else other than that you are right that what´s happening with Zack is in another timeline.
In response to a question from an earlier video you posted, the games are Japanese made, as you no doubt surmised seeing the names of the writers, directors, programmers, composers, etc. (with exception to the English dub voice cast and any names involved in marketing, localization, etc., that I missed). The conceptual basis for the entire story of the original 1997 game was thought of by Hironobu Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Nomura, with Sakaguchi in particular wanting to explore the theme of life as he had lost his mother in a housefire while he was working on Final Fantasy 3. Yoshinori Kitase and Kazushige Nojima then wrote the story based on input from Sakaguchi and Nomura. Nobuo Uematsu composed the soundtrack, and Yoshitaka Amano did the art.
There are more people involved of course, and I am oversimplifying this a little because my comment is already getting too long and there´s a lot of history here, but for the Remake project, a lot of the original people that worked on the OG FF7 were brought back, such as Nomura, Nojima, Kitase, Uematsu (with I think(?) even Sakaguchi giving unofficial input, but this part I´m unsure of) to create these new modern games. The overall story was already created beforehand, and it was decided that there would be three games, and the story would be finished with the third one. We currently have 2 of the 3 released and we´re waiting on the final installment and praying Square can stick the landing for this final installment.

@@ashsites5864 I played the DLC right after the remake and right before the OG and i didn't get spoiled. I was a little confused, but it was never anything spoiler worthy. I just wouldn't recommend Crisis Core if he wants the best expirience with the twists of the game.

Congrats on beating the game man! From here you have a few choices:
You've got the DLC which you should 100% play. It's pretty short and you could knock it out in an episode or two. Then after that you could play Crisis Core Reunion which is prequel to FF7 and gives more story on that new Zack character from the ending of this game. It's pretty short too, about 10 hours so you could honestly beat it in a few episodes before Rebirth. Or you could directly jump into FF7 Rebirth which is just like this game but even more massive, crazier combat and more beautiful cinema. Regardless of what you do, I'll be here to support your FF7 videos, it's been awesome to discover your channel from you playing this game for the first time 💚

Do not play Crisis Core unless you want spoilers for Rebirth and Part 3. Idk why people suggest that. If you want to play Crisis Core you should play the OG first or skip it until Part 3 is out. That said Rebirth is 10x the game Remake is and starts getting into the actual story of FF7.

However it was killing me to see you not take advantage of Aerith's magic power…she is the best support character and if set up properly she is great on offense too! She has over 90 MP that was mostly untouched in this final episode…since her magic stats are so high she can do good damage and heal more even with lower level spells. Something to keep in mind for next time, I hope!

You defeated that arbiter of fate monster destroying those meddling whispers breaking free of destiny in the process and also defeated Sephiroth...at least for now. Anyway Rufus is now the new president, Hojo still has his own agenda, the survivors of Sector 7 are still attempting to rebuild, Biggs is somehow still alive and the group is now going on a journey to find and defeat Sephiroth for good. Next up is the DLC side story starring YUFFIE!!!😁

If you do intend on playing the ff7 original, I am going to let you know now that it is very unforgiving about saves and checkpoints. That is an old game. lol You die, you go back to whenever you saved last. At least that's what I remember. hahaha Early gen games were just like that.
