The canvas tilt on that Series 2 is inside out ! What a howler !! Makes me wonder what else they've got wrong if they can screw up something that simple . By the way, Simon- good for you. Still rocking you'r Christmas jumper ! I noticed it in the last video but forgot to mention it. Really getting you'r money's worth and doing your bit for the environment.
You can charge your battery through those plus/minus terminals. Modified my battery charger to pins and was no need to leave your charger out in the open
Memories! In 1974, I owned one of the 1971 Range Rovers and it was identical to that you showed Simon. One way to tell if genuine, is the absence of a rear wiper blade. Thanks for your non hysteric historics . Cheers 🙈🙏🦘
sorry to correct you Simon but the Rover V8 started in the Rover P5b in 1967 one of which I owned , mine was a coupe which was as close to that lovely Bentley that I got, also had a 71 RRC but it had been fitted with a York 6 cylinder diesel.
Hello Simon…I’m doing this as you go through the cars! That Series 1 is a bit of a mess..surely it has the wrong springs as it is miles too high and the whole.e rear quarters look the wrong shape….then we get a questionable registration number as XVW dates from June 1961 and even then would be XVW 123…not reversed. The Mini would appear to be a 1961/62 car to have the steel window catches and has been resprayed in the 1961 colour of Speedwell Blue…yes that boot has been sprayed because the petrol tank should be black and it is missing the fibreboard battery cover and loose fit ribbed rubber mat of the early cars. Then…it has the speedometer instrument binnacle of a later 1963 car and why is the bottom roll of the dashboard frame covered in vinyl which arrived in late 1963 for1964 models. The roof lining looks correct and the seats are indeed 1963 but don’t tie up with the window catches. I think we again have a car that has been fiddled with over the years to look older than it is…OR…it is a very, very late 1961/62 version with some of the later 1963 upgrades factory fitted as production changed over to the later specification?? Chassis numbers and build date might help! Back to the film!!!!🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️😃😃😃
I’m sure that the MG Metro I took delivery of on launch day had alloy wheels as standard but stand to be corrected. Weird that there were what looked like a couple of Jaguar I-Paces in the background in a couple of shots - 2018 cars now rated as “historic”?

@@L663Argghh…I owned his Vauxhall Omega 3.0 L Elite Estate….but it in 2002 nobody was that interested!! I sold it to a friend who kept it for about ten years then scrapped it!🫣🫣😵💫
Very interesting video - I was surprised that several of those excellent cars did not sell. I did laugh a bit as you standing by those original minis made them look like toy cars. 🤣 But that Bentley Continental at the end did bring back memories as I was with Bentley in Geneva when they first launched the vehicle, so I saw it before any of the public did.
Hi John - we were using the new DJI Mic 2 on this video - they seemed to cope really well with the wind and the speaker - let me know your thoughts as a sound pro !
Well I liked the Mini Cooper 1275 S although it needs period correct number plates with raised silver characters. I think you should go mad and buy the Maserati but be ready to rebuild the engine…and rust!….the P38 is good but I didn’t like them to drive as they feel very top heavy….and the CGT Supersport would be entertaining…I like those but it is a super expensive engine out job to replace the starter ( a regular job!) and watch the plastic fuel lines for decay….and they eat batteries!! I like your bursting enthusiasm Simon…so nice to see but old cars can be hard taskmasters! I think you need an early Range Rover with all the mad modifications on them….im sure you recall them well!!!🤭🤭🤭😃😃😃😃
Yes i still fancy that crazy Glenfrome engineering type Range Rover i saw back at the Gaydon show...just got the RR Classic re insured and need to sort a couple of things out on that then we can go for a day out to Kingsley cars !
GM from jamaica love the video u was looking at that white police car door after u TRIED TO close it u thought it was soft close door lol lmao simon i think that was funny

Who the F fitted that canvas? 😅

George, I still have one of those fittings sans the car 🙁. I ran a 12v thermostat to heat up a mug of tea with it.

Yes and no heated rear screen !
Liked seeing that MGB/GT. I had a 1969 MGC/GT with the (I think) 2912cc engine. Always loved the bump in the bonnet for the second carburetor.

Yes I think you may be correct about the v8

@@L663No you said 1963 and it is registered in January 1963 but it has parts from a 1960/62 car….it s a bit of a mixture! 🤔🫢🫣😃😃😊
Thanks for coming down 👋
Such a great event - relaxed atmosphere - lots of interesting people looking at cars who were happy to chat ! See you at the next event !
Some real good value cars

Hoping you’d bought the 59 mini. Make a nice project for Destiny et al to restore in their lunch hour😂
That was too much of a project.... no purchases this time... soon... just need to finish the new garage...
I'd have bid on the Bentley. Timeless style.
So true ! but big $$ at £68K
