Im 55 yo and really tired of chasing "trends" so I am all in for classic timeless styles! Thanks for saving us $ with new stylish brand websites ! Leopard will never go out of style. I keep it simple-belt and flats worn separately.
I’m 20 and I feel the same way, I have a leopard bag I don’t wear it too much but in an all neutral outfit it makes its pop, wouldn’t wear leopard clothes but the bag is my nod to the trend, even better I bought it over 7 years ago. Timeless dressing for the win whatever that means to anyone’s wardrobe 🤍
Started wearing red in 1980 as a personal brand that made it easy to find me at airports on business trips. Red luggage, coats, shoes, sweaters and hats always classic complements to classic neutral suiting. It was also very affordable to stay with that formula over the years. Now that I am retired, I have been incorporating more different colors in fun and casuals ways. In the last two years I've expanded a collection of fun colors of sneakers and flipflops. Great for working out, beach days and casual dresses. Dresses are "the new shorts" on my 66 YO body, especially with cute sneaks and flops. I'd really fit into Florida casual style. Have blazer, will air condition... ❤️😜❤️
I think capri pants that are more slim with a higher waist , the retro kind (my mom always has called them pedal pushers) can possibly be flattering when styled right. Think pinup style ? Maybe styled more modern….
What's wrong with loud and obnoxious logos/prints? I am not someone who has ever liked loud prints or logos in general. My style has always been classic or what people now call "quiet luxury" (also hated that word since it came out). However, some monograms like the gucci monogram or LV canvas are iconic and people do enjoy them. Some people do it intentionally especially as part of a "street style" or "over the top" aesthetic. Its not about being obnoxious for them, its just their personal preference. There is a reason why those prints are iconic and I would actually argue it takes a lot of genius on the part of a designer to create an iconic print that will stand the test of time and people will love and recognize all over the world. I think that deserves some respect whether its your personal style or not.
@@SummeRain783 Its more the full head to toe logomania thing vs simply a logo bag. While some folks might be able to carry this off, most people can't.
I agree about all your NOs, except that I’m keeping my Lily Silk “cargo joggers”, they’re 100% mulberry silk and I love them. I don’t wear “satin”, which is really a type of weave, but brands use it for 100% polyester. They’re always trying to make plastic sound better, like “microfiber” or “technical fabric”. One can call quartz a “diamond”, but it doesn’t make it so.
😂😂. About a year ago they were saying animal prints were out, along with ballet flats. Styles trend in an out with an ever increasing rapidity. There are even fashion influences now who recommend just putting favorites in the back of the closet. At one time this would have been impractical advice as it used to take years before items trended again, but not anymore.
Omg I had no idea it was out and now it's back again. My eyes are just drawn to it in the stores and I have to stop myself from buying it because I have too much. 😅
@@littlemom2070 Thats always been good advice. Obviously there are macro trends that change slowly, but there aer also faster cycling trends. Like shoes being round toe or pointy.

I think you should keep with the trends as much as you can , at least a few of them. Staying classic all the time ages you really quick, keep up with the times .As a middle aged woman, being fashion forward is awesome ,don’t blend in and disappear.
I wore capris in the 90’s when I met my husband. I put some on the other day for the first time in years and he commented that they are his favorite on me…must have had just the right pair😅
Capri pants…….fine as long as you don’t have the beginning of varicose veins. Watch that one, they can happen on the back of your legs, you don’t know and no one will tell you.
Anna, You just have a wonderful ability to see items with amazing energy. You really call them! Personally, I love vests but not without a blouse under them. I freeze and the look hits me as "half dressed". I remember matched sets trying to come in 30 years ago, and they STILL look like pajamas. I agree with no socks (unless with tennis shoes) or bras showing, or tennis shoes with skirts (I get that Europe has uneven streets.). I have no issue with a pant hem 3-4 inches above the ankle. These shorter "capris" are actually the old "clam digger" of decades past, but women will cover thighs. Thank you for all you do!❤
Yay! I look forward to wearing my red linen 2 piece suit again! (And my green and blue! I love the 2 piece matching suits)… and hauling out my classic leopard suit and cashmere! And kind of dying to find army green satin cargo pants.
This was great. I love your videos anyways. I agree it’s just classic dressing. And those jackets they were just adorable and best. Thanks for sharing.
I have an old pair of black, just over the knee capris, that I will dig out this season! They're slim fit, not baggy which I think are totally unflattering.
Personally, I think leopard is a classic print that is timeless - that's why it always "comes back" cyclically, decade after decade. 😊 I love your videos, Anna - your sense of humor keeps me coming back for more, and you always look fabulous! ❤

Hi Anna. What’s your opinion on a vest over a top? (Specifically, that wool cream vest that you linked.) I like the vest-as-a-top look, but my work has a no sleeveless policy. If top + vest would work with this trend, I’d love to see you style some outfits in a video/short. If it would look off, please let me know. Lol.
So I agree with all of these but I do like the socks with flats. I feel like to make it look good though you have to dress a little eccentric. But I have had some fun with that one. Enjoy your videos!
Peep toe boots can actually be a thing if you live in a place where winter climate is mild, like Arizona, for instance. I actually heard someone from there say that the peep toe boot is sometimes called the desert winter boot!
Agreed! I'm in NC where the winter is on-again, off-again intermittently cold and warm. The peep toe boot is perfect for our mixed winter weather. It's a cute statement that says, if mother nature can't make up her mind, neither can I, LOL😅
I’ve avoided capris( we called them clam diggers) for about a decade. I’m ready to give them a try. I’m in Texas. It’s so hot here for so long that I’m hoping to lean into the coastal grandma look for a change. No leopard and no bras showing. Socks with ballet flats is weird. Love your channel. I’ve been binge watching all afternoon.
Luckily I've never been one to chase trends, but the flip side to that is not really being aware of what's current / modern. A timeless look can be created from trends & timeless happens to be my style.. It's taken me a long time to learn this.
I love capris, specifically ones that are fitted and hit just below the knee. But I'm 5'10 and self conscious about my thighs. I hate flared cropped pants though and those have been popular for the last 8 years. So to each their own.
I used to be a huge Capri pant lover. But I totally believe cropped pants and shorts look so much better, esthetically, than capris. And I can't wear socks with ballet flats, way to baby doll and juvenile to me! Lol
I just thrifted a pair of wool capris that look absolutely horrible on me. The length is atrocious! They fit well everywhere else so I’m going to cut them into Bermuda shorts and wear as a suit set. I have a great eye on how to recreate things. I also have a pair of nice fitting, distressed at the knee jeans. I’m going to cut those as well. No need to throw away or donate items. Repurpose them!
I might thrift the Chanel style jacket which I would style more edgy. I love your Rocker hair! I think that it is important to take pieces from trends and make it work towards your own unique look. I do like aspects of Mob wife because that has always been a bit of my fashion- LOL.
I hate and I know its a strong word, but I Hate cargo pants, and to add shine to them is just awful. Fashion seems to change weekly, so I am just going to stay with the classics. Thank you Anna. Logical and sensible advice!!
Thanks Anna! I agree on vests and leopard (in small doses). I wore my navy/white striped cardigan with gold buttons last night to dinner. I wish i could find a lounge set that fits me. They always look sloppy on me. I completely agree on your six trends that are a no. How many years have fashion influencers been telling us ladies that capri pants are the most unflattering pants ever? I will stick with skirts and Bermuda shorts.
Dear Ms Anna, I am always waiting eagerly to see your video(s) of the week! Thank you for the briefing on the 6-no-no trends and the ones we would not regret... OMG, I agree with you 100% ; just to mention that I have never been on board with the leopard skin design clothes but, hey; it's me! (more for others! tee-hee!) Thank you for reinforcing the notion that....the quintessence of looking beautiful is to feel good and oneself in the clothes we wear! Have a lovely beginning of the week Ms Anna!!! helene :)
3:30 the quality of the vest has nothing to do with the fit. It just means that vest wasn’t patterned for a body similar to yours. That’s why tailors exist. Things you can attribute to quality are fabric, materials, and construction. But fit is never one of them.
I like your opinions however, I will not be following your advice on my logo LV bags! 😊 I love them! I agree with you on most of the other points. I do wear the animal prints in the tan/black colors. I also wear capri jeans and pants but they go past my calf. I don't mind them. Love the duo outfits! Thanks Anna! ❤
LV used their logo to create an overall texture on their products for over 100 years; safe to call that a quiet classic. I think the current logo objection is more against tops with one giant screaming logo plastered across our boobs.
Please enjoy your logo LV bags. I have always been a classic or "quiet luxury" (hate that term since it came out btw) dresser most of my life. The only monogram designer bag I own is my speedy. The only other very recognizable prints I have are two Burberry outerwear and one Versace summer dress. Otherwise, my closet is very understated. However, I never understood this concept of trying to rid of all these iconic prints completely with this weird "quiet luxury" concept. At the end of the day, those prints are iconic for a reason and some people genuinely love to wear them regularly even from head to toe. If that is their style then I find them bold compared to my more "boring" aesthetic lol. Putting down these iconic prints or those who enjoy them more often than those who don't is the opposite of classy which apparently is supposed to be a trait of this "quiet luxury" trend lol.
Anna, this is a super good video! I agree the logo handbag is getting old. But,,,, I can't get onboard for all these teeny- tiny handbags! If you carry a wallet, sunnies, phone, and a tampon, where are you going to put a lipstick? LOL 😂 I need at least a midsized bag. ❤
Out with the capris together with the split shoulder tops! Leopard done sparingly is always in classic style. Logo anything has become very bougie and almost looks trashy - like you’re trying too hard.
I think I’m late to the party but I just saw mob wife clothing trending. I used to dress like that in my 30s, I wore lotta jewelry, fake fur leopard print. Still wear leopard print I love it I’ll always wear it. I’ve had a scarf from the 80s.
It's hard to remember those pre-social media days, but I had watched Sex In The City for about four years before I read a newspaper article telling me that Carrie Bradshaw was a style icon. I thought she was the worst dressed of the four characters, and the visible bra was a symptom of her "quirkiness" Also totally agree with you on open-toed boots. Why do they even exist?!? The Mary Janes with socks trend is just proof that not every trend is for every age-group. When I was young, that's how girls dressed going to school - it wasn't a trend at all. Let the young have that one; adults should have more sense.
So, questions: short girl here at 4’11! Love the blazer look. Seems like an easy piece I can throw on with almost anything to add a little instant style! If I could get the right blazer that is! Being 4’11, where should my blazer hit on me to slim & enlong to me to the max! Can I choose blazers with a little stretch to them? I want to add in some pieces more stylish & sophisticated than a sweater, but maybe not as stiff feeling as a blazer. This also makes it easier to eliminate the boob to height ratio issue :-) Im gonna get this!! But.. until then, while I play around, any Amazon recommendations? I know, Im sorry!

I think they look great. As you say, the key is a slim fit, and a high was it to elongate the leg.
"Quiet Luxury" is just the positive reduction of "NO MORE LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS LOGOS PLEASE (but make it just as expensive)".

Love all your videos. ❤ Is there a link for the top you are wearing while talking?
I totally agree with you!!!👍👍👍
Anna, this is a super good video!
Agree on all points.
I thought she was the worst dressed of the four characters, and the visible bra was a symptom of her "quirkiness"
Also totally agree with you on open-toed boots. Why do they even exist?!?
The Mary Janes with socks trend is just proof that not every trend is for every age-group. When I was young, that's how girls dressed going to school - it wasn't a trend at all. Let the young have that one; adults should have more sense.
Agreed! My 8 yr old can have at a lot of these.. I’ll just sit on the sidelines for some! lol ❤️❤️
Can’t believe capri pants are “coming back”!! Socks with ballet flats blah.
Bonjour de Paris!🗼🇨🇵
That's a lovely necklace. Is it current? I don't mean trendy, I mean bought in the last 2 years. Thanks!
This also makes it easier to eliminate the boob to height ratio issue :-)
Im gonna get this!! But.. until then, while I play around, any Amazon recommendations? I know, Im sorry!
The bra thing, socks with ballet slippers, capris a firm NO!.. lol
🤣🤣❤️❤️
