Knowing your sarcasm, specially about Mercedes cars i would rate this a solid 4/10 for fit and finish, its a shame how much rattle one can get in a 100.000€ car. Looks like the last well build cars from Mercedes are the a-class and the convertibles, tested a 2018 e-class in the last month, and it was mostly rock solid. I also dont like the interior looks of all new Mercedes, applying Screen everywhere to keep the chinese happy😂
He did a W213 E-class and it creaked more than this. He just presses very hard, especially on Mercedes models to make them noisy. Even then he’ll lie about how many squeaks there are (W206 C-class video😂).

Having extensive experience with the big 3, ( Maybach, Bentley, and RR) Maybach IS overall a better buy than both. RR had the best materials and softest drive. Bentley was the most sportiest with good materials. Maybach sits in the middle of both and does everything as a whole better than both brands. Maybach had more creature comforts then both combined. Where the other 2 shine is simplicity. It's more of a pick your poison type of thing, but once you're at a point where you're looking a RR, Bentley, and Maybach as a potential buy surely you've won at life.
@@BeastModeYTClips had a drive in S580 Maybach with 19" and ABC, comparing that to the Flying Spur and Ghost, easily the Ghost wins this one, the comfort of RR is clearly unbeatable, the Maybach on the other hand with ABC doesn't feel as soft as i thought it would, Flying Spur does feel the sportiest because Bentley is suppose to mix sportiness and luxury together. the only thing that the Maybach wins is the price, that's all and neither of any big bosses i knew drive a Maybach

I've owned multiple Mercedes all my life and me personally, they're built solid, there's some few bad apples here and there but at least 90% of Mercedes are built like a rock, and that's for new ones too.

I have a W221 S600 - which you literally can NOT get it to creak anywhere, the rear A/C vents are surrounded in like a solid wood / aluminium backed casing... I guess the new modern high gloss piano black is fundamentally plastic so it creaks -but my S600 is quiet as... However - the W223 is a cool / modern car!

@@thatmatty231guy Yes I have. And I've owned a w126 and a c126. The pre-facelift w220 was really bad. The facelift better. The dash and gauge cluster in the w221 is not perfect. Feels "thinner" than in the old ones before the w220. But the w221 is surely better than the new ones... I dont dispute that. Doesnt matter what engine is put into them though. Interior is same structure.

Besides the universally despised Tesla tablet failing every Mercedes across the lineup, there's a special place in hell for engineers of flimsy plastic electronic gear shifters. How was this deemed superior to a classic wood and leather gated shifter in decades of Mercedes? Are your cupholders really more sacred than a solid intuitive gear shifter? The contrast between fit and finish scores and materials is shocking. Your own 2008 CLS has a better executed interior in every way than this S580. I need my wood and leather shifter in the console and my small shrouded navigation screen mounted deep in dash, never to be defiled with fingerprints.
The s580 will definitely be my next car. I initially preferred the more interesting design language (and buttons) of the W222 but I just drove one of these in July and was immediately smitten. I will say I'll probably wait until the midlife facelift to see if they get rid of the piano black trim which is the bane of my existence. I still think I'd be okay with the W222, but the (not not perfect) better build quality and tech is the deciding factor. I'll wait for a low-mileage one with the exclusive leather package for better interior materials + the high end Burmester.
I think it’s better to stick to your w222, my w221 and w222 is built way better than the w223, safe to say the G70 7 series is the benchmark of the segment now for a reason

The 7 series is definitely more solid but it’s not the benchmark for anything. I haven’t driven one but most reviews seem to prefer the s class. Also, the prior version of that car also had better materials and build quality - it just wasn’t as “interesting” as the new 7 series. I think the COVID supply chain issues affected the interior quality of all MB and BMW.
@@tool8337 the reviews that claim the S class is better than the 7 series is just Throttle house and Sam CarLegion, which those reviews are 100% paid by Mercedes Benz, and the S class sales have been falling badly ever since 2022=12% down,2023=24% and this year alone 37% down, the 7 series however climbed 6% in 2023 and 12% this year compared to s class, sales number determine which one is doing successful, the worse news is s class wouldn’t get a new generation due to blunder sales of the w223, and the 7 series is redeeming for a new gen in 2030

I believe Matt Watson preferred the S class (off memory) and Thomas from Autogefuhl stated he personally prefers the 7 series because you can get vegan leather interior options but get whichever you like more because they trade blows. Overall, the reviews also take into account that the 7 Series offers similar benefits for less money, not just which is better. Secondly, I know the S class has seen a decline while the 7 series has seen an unusual increase in sales. The S class still outsold the 7 series in 2023 (10k v. 11k sales). But 2024 is looking like the 7 series will sell more. However, I would argue the electric 7 series puffs BMW’s numbers considering the EQS is so awful. People who want electric tend to switch brands and get the 7 series instead of the EQS or the S class. I personally like the current 7 series but would not say it’s the new “benchmark” considering in a 1v1 the cars are so closely matched yet the S class still has the heritage and prestige. Finally, I don’t believe you are correct that Mercedes is ending the S class model. There are no credible rumors that it is the case and it wouldn’t make sense. this does NOT sound like a 11/10. almost every panel you touched made a noice or was moving around like crazy. ive driven more than one s-class and every single one had the same issues. its way better than the c-class but still. considering you could spec this car for up to 280k (in europe, prob even more expensive in other parts of the world) this is a no go. although i have to say it feels very nice to drive and to sit in.
@ImanSengupta2102 i get what youre saying but it doesnt justify the creaks. From my experience the door and the centre console are just bad in every new mercedes. When you press the buttons to adjust the seat or unlock the car its creaks 50% of the times you press it. When you drive fast around corners the entire center consoler creaks cuz you get pushed against it. A-class, c-class, e-class or s-class. All have the same design and all have the same creaks when you touch it.
I My Honda Jazz has 150k on it and doesn't have these issues. How pathetic that it is vastly inferior to an economy car. Also my Jazz has matte sheen plastic... not awful piano black
