I left Uni at 160 pounds fit as a fiddle, after a few years of work I ballooned to about 230 pounds. At Uni, I walked, cycled everywhere, couldn't afford fast food, had two part time jobs that were mostly on my feet as well as belonging to a cross country running team for the Uni team, then after graduation to a 9-to-5 job, where I drove into the office car park, sat all day, got drive through meals and when I got home, sat on a couch watching TV until bed, so looking back it was no surprise the weight piled on. That was hard to reverse the damage but I managed to get back down to 175 pounds, I took up hiking as well as a diet & daily exercise regime. I think James Bond was a massive influence on that journey.
I’m 56 and when I’m out on a ride ( I cycle almost every day) in the rain or sunshine I think of all those guys my age stretched out on their sofas eating pizza vegetating on game shows or ice road truckers! And give myself a little smile! Fitness keeps your mind happy as well as your body. I’m always happy to take my shirt off on a beach knowing that I ‘don’t’ look like Daniel Craig, but I’m as fit as I can be! And happy. Love your honesty.
Iam 37 rite now, but lots of people always tell me that the real life for a man starts at 50, if ill b able to look like you when i'll reach that age i'am pretty sure that that advice was a real thing, keep the great work David 🍗🍗🍗🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪
70 year old woman here & my fitness became a real priority for me after 2 children and in my 40's. Still a great priority ... you look great @ 55 David and will be for as long as you have the joy in it !
Thank you David! I'm 52 and in recent months I have noticed quickness in muscle loss and I also have high blood pressure. I know there are a number of things to do, but I get despondent because of the age I am and I not in shape as I used to be many years ago. You have inspired that it is possible to feel, look and be better, and more energised. Many thanks!
Bond aspirational living is a great scaffolding to build oneself. Far from a frivolous endeavour, Bond provides a creative male with the benchmark to visualise ultimate masculine success.
The most amazing fact is that David gets all his Bond and fitness material done in just his free time. He is the President of a company in a completely different field.
This was a great video, thank you David. I can only aspire to look like you do at 55! I love your goal setting beyond just the physical and finding balance with everything else. Definitely some pearls of wisdom along the way too. I'm motivated!
I’m 65 in March and like you I’ve been climbing all the time. I’ve just retired and hove the physical aesthetic you showed us of you 2 years ago. I used Daniel Craig as my goal and I appreciate this video.
First and foremost, THANK YOU for this video! I am your senior by 2 weeks...my birthday is January 17th ,1968. It is extremely inspiring to see another 55 year old male in shape, doing well, and loving life in a HEALTHY manner! I am a physician, as well as a Bond fanatic, and I too was very driven by Daniel Craig to be the best version of myself. If he could do it, so could I. Another inspiration and fellow 55 year old is Jason Statham, who is in phenomenal shape, who also reminded me that being in the mid 50's does NOT mean that we're at the start of the "end". I also exercise daily, I eat very clean, and I have found that life is way more enjoyable when health and fitness are a priority. I feel better now than I ever have! Love your channel!!!!
Happy Birthday my fellow Aquarius. Love the channel. We have very similar interests pertaining to Bond- style, Luxury and just having your own way of doing EVERYTHING. 🥂
Happy birthday David, nice video, today 1st Feb is my birthday, my wife bought me the N. Peal 007 Henley, which I think has some nicer detail than the movie Rag & Bone version. 👍 Keep up the good work.
Happy birthday David! Love this video, I found it very motivational. It's good every so often to take the time to reflect in life on where you are and where you want to be.
Happy birthday! You don’t look near it. I’m 53 and my closest to Bond (apart from talking on phone to Sir Roger Moore in 1989) was when I lived on Lake Como in my little house in 2006 driving along the lake in my Almera(!) listening to ‘You Know My Name’ on my MP3 player 😆
Like your inspiration was and will always be Bond I've gotta say and i think i can speak in behalf of many people that follow you that you are an inspiration for us. Seeing a man in his 50s having so much care with how he looks and ages after all inspires me(a teen) to also try to be the best version of myself and take the best care of myself.( Clothing, style , physical form and just the way i carry myself) Thank you David!
You look great David! Don’t apologize for flexing up and being proud of what you’ve achieved physically. You have planted these ideas - this motivation in so many of us to push ourselves towards our best selves for where we are in life. Thank you and continued good health in all aspects of life and wellbeing!
Happy birthday David. thanks for the channel its fun! right now my lady has me in shape enough to hike ~10 miles, ideally every day. i do like to bring the champagne and proper glasses, cause James Bond... previously its when i worked at two yoga studios at the same time.
I love this ! Maxing out life in all areas that matter -especially through the guiding lens of Bond -is the whole reason we are here ! We are out here to grow and expand -it makes one feel better to do so ! Cheers to your new year of life -excited to see your continued growth into the future !
Happy birthday David. I too am on a mission to get fit for 50, it’s not going well 😢. But your video has me back on track 👍 Thanks and keep up the good work!
Happy Birthday David! As a fellow 1968 baby, I really appreciate your inspiring journey video sharing your experiences, tips, and above all passion for life as well as Bond. Wishing you many more years of health and happiness!
I'm Bond at 25 years old, I love flirting with women and working out to be fit like Craig's Bond. I always employ pick-up lines from James Bond, it feels great to be a single yohng guy obsessed with the 007 life.
A wonderful video, David. As a (now) 62 year old Bond fan, it's a great way to recommit myself to all the things that you mentioned! Fitness is timeless, style is timeless!
Great Video!! I am only three years behind you myself. And I really need to start a workout routine again. I loved the dancing around, because I will do that from time to time as a feel good thing. It kind of reminds me of Jack Lemmon. In almost all his movies he would do some kind of self dancing thing, goofing around, but just a feel good thing to do. It does make you feel good to just be a little quirky and not care. At our age I don't think it can be said enough!!! STRETCHING!! Stretch and stretch some more. I started throwing my back out a few years ago, and the stretching makes all the difference in the world.
Happy Birthday David. I’m a few years behind you but have fallen off of the fitness and healthy wagon recently and gotten comfortable too. I need to buck up and you’re the man to help me.
I can't even begin to tell you how refreshing it is to see someone with a personal gym that doesn't include a bench, barbells or machines. I'm a lean guy and with my genetics it's nearly impossible for me to put on a lot of weight. Friends say that I'm blessed, but when I was young I wanted the big shoulders and big chest almost like Schwarzenegger. All the guys I know who used bench presses and machines to become like that are now out of shape with man boobs. You put too much weight on eventually as you get older everything will eventually stretch or sag. None of us can beat the clock. I'll be 50 next year and I'm happy to be lean and what's kept me physically fit for so long are pushing and pulling exercises mostly involving my own body weight. I still use a chin up bar that my dad bought me 40 years ago. I still have the old Dan Lurie plated dumbbells he left me. I follow a similar diet thanks to my parents who started me out very young and also never drank around me which is perhaps why I've stayed away from alcohol having only 3 to 4 drinks a year. Great video man, thanks for being so open and candid. Keep up the good work. Not sure Bond would approve of you cutting down your drinking though. P S. There's a great interview out there with 70-year-old actor Stephen Lang who revealed that after bulking up for the first AVATAR, his body was surprisingly brittle. He's slimmer now but claims he's more fit than before thanks to Bikram Yoga. Something to consider trying as we all get older. I know I am.
What a fantastic video David. It perfectly captures various aspects of my life and the thoughts (and fears) that it appears, we all have. I thought it was only me that had a Bond dance/walk too…. 😁 👍
Happy 55th 😃 and thank you for this video. I’m also on a «journey» my self. Wasn’t happy with my physical and mental state a Year ago. I started working out again and eating Healthier. This has got me About 20 kg lighter and more content with myself and I Will continue forward. Thank you again for Your inspiration.
Happy Birthday to you David, 👍....I'll be 54 in July. /007 for life ‼️Long time Sub here of the channel and I will always be tuned in from Columbus GA.
1st and foremost, Happy Birthday brother, the discipline paid off. Mental Health plays so much more into Physical Health than most realize. Having a support system and surrounding yourself with good people that truly have the best intentions for you is a wonderful start. Love that Bowflex set, I just picked up a Kettle Bell recently and thats been a hug help for me. Great Video man, thank you for the tour.
Happy Birthday, David! I’m a few years older than you (ok, a dozen) and still work hard at fitness. I’m not as successful anymore, but any success is worth the effort! Cheers JR Seeger Old warrior/new novelist
I'm 42 as of Feb 9th working on a key look should be every man's goal, Ladies take care of themselves, so Being like Bond is being aware that there's always room for improvement.
Happy Birthday! Always great to be reminded of the sentiment "its the journey not the destination". Ill be hitting 50 this summer and its a bit surreal but knowing you hit the best shape of your life at 53 gives hope.
Sounds "Operation Pinnacle" was a complete success! Congratulations David, that was some wonderfully solid observations and insights. It's not the destination it's the journey and it matters how you feel, not how you look that is true measure of fitness. Much happiness and success on your continued journey and happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, David! This may just be your best video yet! Very inspiring and thought-provoking. I'm also glad I'm not the only schmuck doing a walk-dance around the house for exercise, lol. I'll be 63 in March and try to get a balance of cardio, planks, and, believe it or not, the old Bullworker from the 70s. I'm just trying to stay healthy and eat well so i'll be around a long time for my daughter. Funny you showed the Yasso bars. That's my occasional treat. I have weight to lose, but I'm headed in the right direction. Anyway, thanks for sharing your journey. I found it fascinating and inspiring.
A great video as everyone has mentioned. People may disagree with little things with respect to your approach, but as you alluded to, different things work for different people. What I do appreciate about you most is your honest and sincerity with humility and minimal ego (we all have and do need a bit of ego after all). You are genuine in your approach and it is so refreshing amidst a day and age when people are both literally and figuratively "flexing". You are doing great and you truly are an inspiration of a well lived life! Admittedly, it is probably far more balanced and successful than Bond's life has ever been! Just look at your wife after all! Congratulations and keep seeking the next mountain, but focusing on climbing them... not climbing them perfectly with 6 pack abs. I believe the side cuts you were talking about are your "serratus anterior" muscles... but don't look them up, cause then you will go back to trying to get them which is unnecessary cause you are already dominating life!
Hey David, a belated happy birthday to You. And thanks for this inspirational video. I'm about 10 years younger than You, but also under the impression, that I'm not the best version of myself. And have a hard time with that. Frankly said, I'm struggling hard with myself to get started and acquire some self discipline.... So it was quite interesting to get a look into someones elses mind who seems to have the same thoughts about himself (and got it going the way he wanted). Thanks again..
Congratulations David, celebrating same day as its also my wife's birthday today. Side-note, we got married on Global James Bond day too....spooky how many connections the Bond community have together. Anyway, thanks for all your hard work, love the videos and thanks to them, my credit card loves the use its getting, topping up my wardrobe. Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳
Happy delayed birthday David. That video was spot on. Hit 40 myself this year and everything you spoke about I could relate to. Keep up the great work. Always makes me smile.
Trust me David, you don’t need professional trainers or to obsess too much over diet. I am 66 years old and have trained as far back as I can remember - not long sessions - but enough to keep me fairly ripped and still building muscle even my age. So, fear not, at 55 I still considered myself a relatively young man and at 66 I can still bang out 80 slow and deep press-ups and 95 slow and deep press-up using raised bars all within an hour after doing strength exercises in the morning. If I have any advice to give, it is to be consistent in training regularly. Once you have reached a good level it is much easier to keep fit than it is to get fit from scratch.
I think James Bond was a massive influence on that journey.
Happy birthday. M.
Work is a killer. Well done for fighting back!
Craig brought his " A " game coming out of the water and inspired men all over the world.
I’m 56 and when I’m out on a ride ( I cycle almost every day) in the rain or sunshine I think of all those guys my age stretched out on their sofas eating pizza vegetating on game shows or ice road truckers! Every second of that was just open, honest and brilliant. That's very rare . Thanks David .
Bond aspirational living is a great scaffolding to build oneself. Far from a frivolous endeavour, Bond provides a creative male with the benchmark to visualise ultimate masculine success.
Happy Birthday Mr. Bond from germany!
55? More like 45, David. You look amazing!💪 great video as always. Also Happy (late) Birthday
The most amazing fact is that David gets all his Bond and fitness material done in just his free time. He is the President of a company in a completely different field.
24:53 - 25:15 is the exact reason I enjoy this channel so much!
Happy Belated Birthday David! Always an inspiration!
This was a great video, thank you David. I can only aspire to look like you do at 55! I love your goal setting beyond just the physical and finding balance with everything else. Definitely some pearls of wisdom along the way too. I'm motivated!
Hi David, happy birthday- I’m 60 and still on the Bond journey (and fitter than 40!)
Hi David, Great post I was 55 too just over a month ago so welcome to the club! Thanks for the inspiring words!
I’m 65 in March and like you I’ve been climbing all the time. I’ve just retired and hove the physical aesthetic you showed us of you 2 years ago. I used Daniel Craig as my goal and I appreciate this video.

Happy birthday David! Love this video, I found it very motivational. It's good every so often to take the time to reflect in life on where you are and where you want to be.
Happy birthday David! 55 is the new 45, if you can harness all of your wisdom and experience, but still be useful, not immature!
Happy birthday David! The work you’ve been doing for this community is amazing.

I've had a similar ab roller for 20 years, one of the best little workout tools there is!
Happy birthday David. I too am on a mission to get fit for 50, it’s not going well 😢. But your video has me back on track 👍 Thanks and keep up the good work!

Belated birthday wishes David! Wonderful video
What a fantastic video David.
It perfectly captures various aspects of my life and the thoughts (and fears) that it appears, we all have.
I thought it was only me that had a Bond dance/walk too…. 😁
👍
You are an inspiration, I am going to work on myself for the next 6 months and see what happens on my Birthday. Keep up the great work.
Happy birthday!! Thank you for this video. And Tang! Love it. Had that a bit when I was a kid. Thanks for the info on your diet as well.
Goes to show that the journey is never perfectly linear. Peaks and valleys all the way. But if you persist, those valleys get a little shallower.
Happy birthday! David! Great video as always!
Nice one David. As a PT just be mindful about using ab roller ensure your core is engaged and tilt pelvis before using…….protect that back!! 😊👍
I'm in a bit of a slump and this video got me off the couch. Thank you
Eat a healthy meal today.
