Just thought I'd say that I love how you use real life examples in your photos, it really helps illustrate things for me:)
Thanks Sierra ❤❤❤
I took your advice and bought a steamer. What a difference. Your videos have helped me tremendously!
So happy to hear Diane! Aren't steamers amazing?!😊
Thank you, great and helpful video.

You're welcome Lorena 😊
Thanks Erica. Great vídeo!
Thanks so much Patricia! 😊
It’s amazing how long the legs look with a high waist as opposed to a lower waist. Great visual. Would you advise a front tuck or an all around tuck for the same effect?
Isn't it!? A high waist can make such a difference. Either a french or full tuck would work to create this effect. It's really what you're feeling that day. 😊
I'm busty so, when I get a button-up shirt to fit across my bust, it's usually too big in the shoulders. I don't mind it being big around the waist because I usually tuck it in.
get a raglan sleeve, am a 38e works great 👍
Thanks for your comment Rose! Do you end up having it tailored in the shoulders?
What type of tops would you recommend for an hourglass body and small bust?
When ist the Torso long, is there a rule for the measurments?
That's a great question. I've never heard of an exact measurement per se. But, most women that have a long torso tend to know by their bottoms resting lower than their belly button.
I found this video that might be helpful th-cam.com/video/lak2QrzStsI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nk_h4CNxDSDXDSQc
Do you wear horizontal stripes?
Me personallay? If yes, stripes in any direction or size have never felt like my personal style. I like solids and small florals.
I feel just the opposite - a belt or tucking in makes me feel consious about my wide waist, so I don't want to accentuate it.
Not every style tip will work for everyBODY. Knowing what does work for you and what makes you feel great is key to having a style you love.
Sorry, no offence but I’m so tired of ‘stylists’ saying wear high waisted pants etc. and then show photos of women who literally are young, tall and VERY THIN. Show me a ‘real’ women who has a tummy or pouch for whatever reason and put a high waisted Jean or pant on them and not have a huge belly bump out.,,I know there are ‘solutions’ but any of them that I’ve heard are not really reasonable or comfortable. For example wear shape wear, or wear a jean that is 100% cotton so super stiff and uncomfortable. If a woman has a belly especially an ‘apron’ type tummy…sinch in the waist and make it go up high on the waist and the pouch will just pop out. Then tuck in the shirt so it’s all on display…
Thanks for your comment Sarah. I have diastasis recti since giving birth 8 years ago which gives me a mom pooch. For me, it feels more comfortable to wear high-waisted pants or jeans. If you find that when you wear high-waisted bottoms your belly spills over the top, you may want to try going up a size and getting jeans that are super high waisted (yes they make those). I find if the waistline goes above the bump it is more comfortable.
The tips I offer here are based on my 16 years of styling every body shape and what I have found to work for most women. But I can only offer general tips here as I'm not working 1-on-1 with you. If these suggestions work for you great, but not everything will work for every person. The most important thing is finding what does work for you.
Very thoughtful response. I have a friend who had a severe diastasis recti after 5 babies. She was able to get physical therapy and it completely closed up!
@@EricaBallStyle sorry if I didn’t explain well. I’m not speaking of any ‘tummy’ spilling over the top of the waistband. I’m so confused, am I the only woman on the planet that has a pooch in the very low stomach area? The belly bumping out that I’m talking about is well below the waist band. That’s what I tried to explain. When the jeans or pants are high waisted and sit on or above the waist then it actually accentuates the low pooch and it bulges out even more. I explained how I have heard some people explain that if one wears thick, and stiff enough denim then the material holds in the pooch to some extent. That is at the cost of any comfort. I don’t know how to explain or describe it any better. My comment is to say I e never heard anyone , let alone a stylist, truly give a helpful, and mostly comfortable solution and yet they all recommend high waisted jeans and pants. So I’m left to conclude most are willing to forgo all sense of comfort for style ( not me) and/ or they just say it or show it for a quick video shot or Instagram post and then go change into leggings.
@@sarahthatcher123 Hi Sarah, that makes sense! There are certain brands of jeans I have found that don't accentuate the pooch and for denim are relatively comfortable. I have my clients try Frame, Good American, and L'Agence and see which works best. They have more stretch than regular jeans while enough structure to not accentuate the pooch.
I’m a pear shape with a large breast. Tops can be hard to find.
