Thanks for this. For Oberheim, are the voices panned, but not randomly? If so, is there any way to do that on the DM12? Like half panned left and half right? Not sure I am asking the right question......
On Oberheim synths, you pan the voices manually. Each voice has a pan parameter as this picture shows: greatsynthesizers.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Oberheim-OB8-Synthesizer-19.jpg On the DM12, unfortunately you can't (afaik) get the same level of control. How much left/right panning per voice will be randomized by the DM12.
