  • Hello everyone and welcome. In this video, you will see how the transportation system for carrying overburden from a new mine to an old, once Europe's largest gold and copper mine, works. The material is transported by a conveyor belt with a capacity of up to 4000 tons per hour. Enjoy the video.

    Walking near a moving conveyor belt isn't the smartest idea. But the view is beautiful, great video!

    Those conveyor belts must be a nightmare to maintain but so efficient. Thank you for sharing this very interesting process.

      Trust me, it is a nightmare. The company has announced that the reconstruction of the entire transportation system will begin in 6 months. Thanks for the comment pal.

      If they maintained it better it would last longer, they just let the filth build up, that guy didn't even wash the windows of his cab, talk about lazy.
      The first thing I would do get a big tow behind compressor, and hire two guys and start blowing all the dirt off of everything.

    This mine really needs the be running water and dozers to compact the overburden so it has layed compaction and will be safer when the mine is closed out.

    I guess its Veliki Krivelj mine dumping its overburden into Serbia Zijin Bor Copper.

    Computers watch over those belts just like computers can detect a bad potato chip in a fraction of a second and remove it from the good chips.

    • @HeavyMiningEquipment
      @HeavyMiningEquipment  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Well, this isn't potato chips, it's overburden 😀But you're right, there's a cable along the entire belt, and when it's touched or pulled, the entire conveyor system stops.

    Always have cracks unless you introduce water and compaction methods. Don’t plan on using that filled area for 100 years.

    Thanks and I'd sure rather be running your grader than stuck in that dog house watching that belt all day. That's a good way to move stuff but if MSHA was there all those belts would have to be guarded. They wore the ones on the crusher out guarding them so they'd pass inspections. 10/4 on the cracks. We had a place where we dumped brush and stumps off in a hole close to 200 feet deep in a ravine. The outfit had a D6C to push with and since I did the hauling, I pushed it all over. We get LOTS of rain here and it fell a flood one night and the next day all the stuff was GONE! Right down in the hole and I'd been all over it with the 6. And I like that grader. The old knuckle buster #12's, 120's and 118 Galions were as big as there is here. Smaller A/C's are common for driveways. So Thanks again and that's some setup you work in. CHEERS!

      I must admit I was scared when passing so close to those rollers. A few years ago, everything collapsed here due to heavy rain, mate I have to say rain is nasty stuff here 🤣 just kidding. Thank you for the comment and sharing your experience, cheers! 🍻

      @@HeavyMiningEquipment A lot of rain can do too much. We're in the hills and it all riuns down here but it builds up and washes away things. Thanks for your videos! I've done what you do, just on a smaller scale CHEERS Backatchee!

      @@HeavyMiningEquipment Remember all those Fatalgrams about those folks getting wound up in those rollers and belts! I'd say you get them too. We sure did and I read every one.There was a short return belt to a cone that had to be shoveled off if the power blinked. I'd stick a 5-foot bar in the tail pulley and the operator would tap the start button and I'd reef on the bar and help the belt to empty out and not have to be shoveled. That was when the boss was gone. Stay safe, Pal!

      @@lewiemcneely9143 My friend lost his arm while cleaning the conveyor belt with a shovel. But he made a rookie mistake, he was cleaning while the conveyor belt was running. The shovel got caught between the rollers and the belt, pulling him in, and he lost his arm up to the shoulder. Those rollers are a nasty stuff.

      @@HeavyMiningEquipment It'll happen. Me and the other boulder hauler had to clean out from all the belts at quitting time but we always made sure we were away from them and threw the material AT the belt and never got close. They will GET you and FAST! Sorry about your pal. Just glad they didn't get a Fatalgram with his name on it!

    So theres cracks forming that clearly show its settling, and yet still no layered compaction?? Are they hoping for a disasterous headline? Not to mention the increased capacity if compacted.

      @@chadoien4033 You miss the point. If they aren't compacting or hydro settling it, it will never settle, and be dangerous for hundreds of years as it constantly is moving like a never ending sinkhole.

    Why is the conveyor belt empty?

    • @HeavyMiningEquipment
      @HeavyMiningEquipment  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Because the material is still in the crusher at the new mine and hasn't yet reached the old mine since the conveyor belt is 3 kilometers long.

    • @WolfHeathen
      @WolfHeathen 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It's only empty in between loads. The belt needs to run when a new load gets dumped onto it or you'll clog the whole thing.
