I just want to thank you! Even though I just subscribed to your channel a little over a week ago, I've been watching many of your video's for a little over 8 months now. My family and I decided get some 4 wheelers and go out riding as a family and it's been great. Knowing I would be working on them and maintaining them I decided to get all the same make, Polaris. I got the wife a 2015 sportsman 570, My son a 2015 200 phoenix, My doughtier a 2012 90 outlaw with I didn't know at the time that it wasn't American made and for me a 2003 sportsman 500 ho. It was a project bike with a lot of little things wrong but the motor was sound and has a lot of torque left in it. Other then getting into the motor I've basically touch almost everything and I'm still going. Your videos have been great and very informative. There is some crazy stuff out there but I've learned I can trust you. Again, I THANK YOU.
Ty 4 the video my landlords son in law did a top end rebuild on their sportsman 500 h.o. it ran a while then died. I looked at it battery was toast. Put in new battery today looks like they will need either a new fuel pump or something is plugged, fuel line is not dispersing fuel atm
I have an 02 sportsman 500 that I just purchased.. I always have a heck of a time starting… once warm it reved up nice.. took it for a spin ran nice and clean for a few min then just completely died… get it running and when you ask for more throttle it spits a spudders then dies… took off carb and cleaned it spotless.. started back up and does the same thing.. doesn’t wanna take fuel
Your vids are a wealth of knowledge. Wanted to thank you for all your help. I’m experiencing fuel in the oil during last oil change. Please help! I’m not sure what is causing this. 2005 Polaris ATP 500
I have a polaris scrambler 500 and I can't find one problem, it is that when I turn the engine off and go check the oil level it starts to let air out from the dip stick hole, but I did an engine rebuild and I'm 💯% sure I did it right, but i can't find the area where the air is released. Please help me out.
My 97 Scrambler didnt have a fuel pump when i bought it. Someone made it gravity feed but it doesnt like to start. I can manually choke it by covering the air tube and it runs decent but spitters at mid throttle at times Im guessing this is why. I just bouggt a pump for it to try and fix it. I replaced everything to do with air, spark , and fuel. Thats how i noticed the pump was missing. They are so cheap why wouldnt someone just replace it, lol. People are strange.
I have a 2002 polaris scrambler 500 my recoil blow apart and smashed the ln pulse coil so I replaced in and now it well only run if I hold the throttle wide open and at that it will just stay running won't idle or rev up..if you could help me out with some things to look for would be get thank you..ken
I have 2 questions 1 have you ever worked on a 1997 Polaris xpress 2x4 2 stroke and are the carburetors on the xplores the same as the express’s thank you for your time
I’m in the middle of rebuilding a 2009 Sportsman 500HO EFI 4x4 and have several questions. Is there a best way to email/text/communicate with you? Happy to compensate you for your time and help! TIA!!
The timing chain broke on my 500 scrambler after a rebuild I think maybe I had chain tensioner too tight? Also I have to change the camshaft sprocket with the little spanner but.. so they make a tool to take it off?
The camshaft sprocket is bolted on with 3 bolts. not sure how the chain tensioner would have got tight? Its spring loaded. I've had that happen once. I found a loose bolt by the stator. locked up the chain and snapped.
love your vids... thank you for sharing your knowledge! I was watching this latest and the light bulb went off in my head. I have searched all over for answer to something and I thought, " he will know!" I have a 99 Sportsman 500 (A99CH50AA) and I purchased aftermarket (Eastlake) front struts polaris 7041761. They do not fit. I mic'd them at 1.635" for the diameter and the OEM ones measured 1.603". I can not get them in the strut housing. I contacted Quad logic and they were gracious enough to measure theirs ans they were also 1.635" When looking at the parts for the 99 they call two different options for the struts (7041761 and 7041755). Have you run into this problem? Is the 7041755 a smaller diameter? Thanks in advance for any insight you have and please keep posting. Great content.
Me and a friend of mine, he parts them out always joke about how Polaris was designed. It was like they had an engineer on the east coast designing one one way and an engineer on the west coast designing the same year another way. Same year....different part numbers. Different parts. I haven't ran into your problem. I almost wonder if someone replaced them with a different year.
Kinda late to the party but hopefully you can provide a little guidance. I'm finishing putting together a 2001 Scrambler 500 and am having an issue trying to figure out the line routing from the tank to the pump and pump to the carb. Any insite?
Theres nothing to it. Replace the cam and the carb w/intake boot. I've done it. Not much difference except a little more snappy off the line. It really didnt go any faster.
I am rebuilding the topend on my 03 ranger 500 and I was trying to pull the cylinder coolant elbow and didn't have enough heat and I broke the elbow. Where would I get a replacement?? Do you have any spare ones hanging around I could buy? Apparently they are discontinued at the dealers. :(
@@TitaniummanGarage The new jug I ordered didn't come with it. Which I thought was strange. It is a polaris jug not aftermarket but was from rev6 which re does them and sends out the whole thing piston and all. I just need the elbow now.
Thats a common thing with the CV carbs. I haven't narrowed it down to one thing. It could be the diaphragm, The choke might need adjustment or the air/fuel mixture screw at the bottom might need adjustment. Also check to make sure your airbox is sealed tight and your carb intake boot isn't cracked.
Can a scrambler/sportsman 500 jump time? I have a '02 scrambler 500 that will run one minute just fine, then won't even attempt to start the next. Has spark and new pump and fuel lines. Bought it from someone who's left it sitting outside for many years, so replacing a lot of things on it.
My guess would be wiring issues seeing it was sitting outside. Check the grounds, cdi box anything electrical even the run/ stop/ kill switch as they get corroded. Yes the timing chain can jump. I would start by checking the timing and valve lash. Then the electrical. I just finished one that had the switch act up on me.
@@TitaniummanGarage just relashed the valves. They were pretty tight. Started right up, but had to shut it off to put things back on. Now it won't start again. Must be a wire
@@mid-misage3416 did you take the plastics off? If so check the adjustment on the throttle kill switch. Pop the cover and see if the 2 points are touching. Adjust cable to move them apart.
@@mid-misage3416 sometimes when the plastics are off, things move around like wires and cables. It throws adjustments off. I learned that the hard way. Hours of trouble shooting when it was just something as simple as the throttle kill switch or cdi wire. Good luck.

Could you do a video for the right way to route a throttle cable plz . I would appreciate it if you could.
The p line goes to the carb left or the right side, and the middle one goes to the carb right side. Thanks 😑
Whats the difference between HO and non HO? How would i find out what my 6 wheeler is? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
