  • CUSTOM GUITAR PAINTING WITH POSCA PAINT PENS!
    CUSTOMISING WITH JAY D EP.5
    Recently I found my old ACOUSTIC GUITAR that had been sat in darkness for years collecting up dust... So, in todays episode of CUSTOMISING WITH JAY D, I thought it would be a sick idea to dig the old thing out and have a go at CUSTOM GUITAR PAINTING!
    I transform this tired old looking GUITAR and give it a FRESH NEW LOOK! From BORING OLD GUITAR to a BOLD and STRIKING ONE OF A KIND using POSCA PAINT PENS... I bring you along for the entire journey from START TO FINISH so you can see what goes into creating this CUSTOM GUITAR and maybe even learn a few ARTIST TIPS along the way!
    You can also find my own ART and CREATIONS on my website & social media pages here:

    As always, a HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO COMMENTS, LIKES, SUBSCRIBES AND SHARES! It means a lot to me and this channel wouldn't go anywhere without you! :)

    Excellent paintwork - very artsy ! Congrats !
    You should have used an acrylic gloss paint afterwards to cover up the artwork.
    BTW, Posca paints are not the only brand you could have used, but do use permanent markers.

    • @JayDArtworks
      @JayDArtworks  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I actually varnished it with a few coats of matte varnish spray but forgot to film that bit. It needs protection your right. And yes I do have other brands of paint pens but from experience the water based ones leave a less glossy finish than the acrylic based paint pens. I like it when more light is absorbed as it helps see the art better 😊

    Fine!Very Cool ! Are posca markers better than Acrylic markers?

    • @JayDArtworks
      @JayDArtworks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! :) It depends really. Posca are water based so it needs plenty of protection/varnish after as its not as durable as acrylic. But they are really nice to use and give a really nice vibrant matte finish. Im not a big fan of the slight shine that acrylics can lave. I might do a video on this subject tbh!

    • @JayDArtworks
      @JayDArtworks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I used a white artists spraypaint. Just make sure you sand the guitar surface first with a very fine sandpaper in order for the paint to adhere properly. Go for it, it's great fun!

      It's perfect. But I don't use it. It's displaid on my studio wall. But with enough coats of varnish you should be fine. Unless you hit it of course but any guitar would chip if you knocked it
