Hey everyone! I just wanted to clarify what I meant by "the sculk sensor picks up vibrations and not necessarily all types of noise at this time". All noises are made of vibrations, yes. But if you put a sculk sensor next to a cow, it will not be activated if the cow "moos" near it, same if any other mob makes a vocal noise. But if a mob takes a step, the sensor will indeed be activated. So the sensor only picks up specific types of noises/vibrations, because that's just the way Minecraft has designed it to work at this time :P
Many animals hunt like this too! They aren't so good at picking up vibrations throughout the air but are extremely sensitive to vibrations within the ground!
So good
I believe the skulk detects us via whiskers, not ears. The tendrils on the block even wiggle when they detect movement.
very nice
@@insoars7779 and since the Warden has excellent vibration sensing, its safe to say the Minecraft Food Chain ends with it on the top.
The idea of the Warden aggressively swimming at me out of nowhere is so terrifyingly funny. I would freak out if I saw that
Imagine if you were making your escape on foot and the only way to go next is a lake! If the warden could just swim after you the adventure wouldn't be over! Having respiration and depth strider may come in handy even more so if striding on the lake floor would make you quicker than the warden.
Or hilariously terrifying 😖
I feel like it would be cool if it sunk to the bottom of the water like a deadweight and could run across the bottom as if there was no water slowing it down, then being able to leap back out of the water to attack you.

"Sculk jaw" could also be a health regenerator for the warden
That's a cool idea! :D
Vampire
They don't want you to try to beat the warden
Or maybe it could be a trap block and while it traps you, you take damage in the process
Why not both?
WOW alot of your concepts actually came true kinda... since the warden does actually erupts out of the skulk in the deep dark when enough shriekers go off this means you were kinda right since the skulk jaw will most likely not be joining us and the whole skulk stone or skulk catalyst being able to spread skulk. Nice job
This is so Wonderful! :0 Thank you everyone!
:D
This was awesome dude 😌
Yo you put a lot of effort into that vid. I subscribed 🙂
I love this, you did a great job
Very well made
i really hope his mic doesnt change, it really helps with the aesthetic of the sound coming from an actual microphone from the video
I would like it to be just toned down a bit.
I like the effect, but not the intensity. I might get used to it eventually though
But sound goes into a microphone
Is it just me or is it coming from/louder on the right headphone?
too bad :/
This is a very well done (possible) explanation on how Sculk Blocks work! One thing that surprised me were the Sculk Jaw block. Up until now, I don’t think ANYONE ever seen that before or ever acknowledged it during any analysis video. Good catch there!
Thanks! I wasn't sure if anyone had pointed it out before or not. It's very exciting to see people surprised like I was! Thanks for watching & the kind words!
@@blockixelartistry No problem! :)
Some people have noticed it before (I've seen concepts for what it could do), but this is definitely the first time I've seen it in a video. Blockixel did an amazing job!
I've been rewatching the warden reveal video ever since minecraft live, and even I didn't catch that, so this guy earned a sub from me instantly
@@rooodis456 Thank you! I'm glad that I noticed it while I was writing the script for this video too. Talk about the right timing :) Never saw it before then.

Interesting how you predicted the Warden's ability to appear out of the ground from the skulk.
And the skulk catalyst being a source, AND it swimming in lava!
Aaaand the wardens sonic boom attack
I think it'd be okay for the Warden to have a lot of block destructive ability, because it only spawns in one place. If you put a lot of effort into building something in the hyper-specific place the warden spawns, that's on you.
It would be cool if it could break blocks, just as long that it wouldn't be able to follow you all the way back to your base XD It's gonna be awesome to see how mojang designs the balance :)
@@blockixelartistry On another note, the things you noticed about the skulk jaw were things that even I didn't notice!
Here's one thing I noticed afterwards as well:
Just after the video showed the guy somehow "activating" the skulk jaw (as we did see the teeth appear), after he jumps over the sensor, thus rendering the jaw out-of-view, I believe I can hear some really fast repeating slushing sounds, as if perhaps the jaw was opening and closing rapidly.
I don't want that, sorry, unnecessary. It's not like Wither "Boss" who can destroy almost everything.
@@legzzzzz I mean, it would be very "necessary" if you want to convince people that trying to cheese the warden is not gonna work.
The wither boss gets a pass because *you* summon it. If you build it anywhere near your home, that's on you.
Same with the warden. If you build in its *very specific deep underground biome* then that's on you.
@@CorwinTheOneAndOnly I hadn't noticed the sound you mentioned before, and it almost sounds like a clock ticking, as if it where a timer. This made me realize that the behavior of the skulk trap sounds a lot like the behavior of fly traps. A lot of times, Mojang takes inspiration from the real world to make the game concepts and i think this one is no exception. The fly trap activates a little bit after the fly touches the insides of it's "mouth", sensing the insects vibrations via "whiskers", much like the skulk sensor can sense our movements. I don't really know how much this helps the discussion, but it's good to bring it out.
The idea of the Warden guarding the stronghold is perfect. Name checks out and the stronghold's maze structure fits as well.
only problem is that this insane beast would guard the entrance to a not-so-insane beast

Kingbdogz made The warden that jumps out from the sculk in Minecraft live 2021 just like how the warden jumped out from the sculk as shown in the video!!
Dying by Warden coming out of nowhere is gonna have the same energy of creeper exploding behind you near lava and killing you.(Does he actually despawns after you exit the chunk with him present is the question tho Im also wondering about some sort of a blackout effect that appeared in the trailer when the warden was nearby... Perhaps it's meant to alarm the players that they are not alone in the cave they are currently in??? I know it would ruin the suprise but it's still gives a good atmosphere especially if you don't know where he is. Im also wondering what will be the conditions to mine or break the sculk blocks??? The Endstone-like block was confirmed to actually be a bone-like material by Kingbdogz.

I can just imagine the Warden walking out of a underground lake like he's Aquaman
THEY FREAKING ADDED THE WARDEN CRAWLING OUT OF THE SKULK!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love sculks
so now that they revealed how the warden will work i thought I'd make a list of things he got right/predicted:
1: the warden does come out of the ground but Slightly different from how he thought.
2: the sculk stone was/is a source block for the sculk blocks.
3: and finally the sculk jaw kinda-ish works how the sculk will work regarding mobs, but its just the normal skulk that obsorbs the mobs (experience)
Awesome content! All the mechanics of the Warden mob and the sculks blocks, together with the Deep Dark Cave is really cool. Your theories and thoughts are great.

dude when u showed the warden with a projectile attack i was thinking of a sound burst/sound bullet the more sound he collects the stronger his range attack will be that would be epic
Just found my new favorite channel within the first 5 seconds of the video
Me too
Except it only has one vid
love the unexpected stop after you say 'it might be immune to lava'
I wonder if the "sculk jaw" ended up being a design concept for the sculk shrieker
It is just a concept design for the shrieker
my idea for how the sculk jaw could have worked is that stepping on it would infect you with some sort of 'disease' status effect temporarily. while afflicted it drains your health and experience to grow more sculk under where you are standing, and would also start draining extra health if you happen to run out of experience. also, after you step on it, a small blob of sculk with those 6 teeth sticking out from it will emerge from the sculk jaw, and the sculk jaw will convert into a sculk block. the blob would then scurry away and implant itself into a new sculk block and turn into a jaw, so that players will still have to be wary of their surroundings while navigating through areas they have already visited to keep them feeling engaged.
also, maybe breaking sculk could occasionally drop a sculk blob item (not related to the jaw blob that i was talking about before) which could be used to brew potions that would inflict that disease effect. it may not seem too helpful at first, but you could use it as a splash potion against other mobs. since mobs dont have an experience bar exactly, the potion would deal extra damage to them, maybe similar to a potion of poison but slower yet more powerful, which could be helpful against mobs that have high health
The warden actually DOES have a ranged attack
For a guy that just started making content a month ago. This video is SO well made, that it terrifies the crap out of me.
This was REALLY well animated and informative! Amazing catch with the pixels on the skulk jaw (and the jaw in general)!
First the nether and now possibly the end?
This is like a terraria, with the two evil biomes spreading.
I've never said the word sculk so much in my life **nervous laughter**
Crimson (DUH!) is Nether while the other (what was that?) is End. Perfection.
@@LukiKruki Corruption.
Crimson isnt even nether, terraria has an underworld and it doesnt spread.
warped forest is like an end biome.... (Just saying..)
@@quackquackquack8913 neither does nether
WOW! He predicted the warden coming out of the sculk!
I can't imagine how good are the loots in the chests if this is the mob who's guarding it
Those 2 emeralds, 6 wheat and a golden horse armor really did cost a full netherite gear being eradicated..
Prob enchanted apples, enchanted books, diamond itens, just like the chests in the End City
@@Ruannnnnnnn maybe more op than end chest cuz, in the end, you can just fly freely and theres no any wall that stopping you to see the end city structures, making it easier to find end city, but in caves, its hard to find the warden place because its rare and its on a cave, you cannot just fly freely like in end, you have to mine thousands of blocks to find the warden place
today was minecesft live
the chests in the deep dark had snowball and looting 2 book , that's what I noticed so it seems similar to stronghold loot currently .. just books..
@@CrimsonAkato Yo i saw that too. Tbh that was kinda lame. I really hope they'll add something great
Holy crap the animation is so smooth, never noticed the sulk jaw and the fact that it could swim very fast and be fireproof is funny(also the warden jumping out of the ground scared me lol)
I've notticed that in the files of the latest snapshots there's the texture for a block called Calibraded Skulk Senser that might emit light.
Yooo that was scarily accurate
Awesome predictions, he was right about some of these
I was looking at all the blocks first shown and I noticed the jaw and I was like :
"Holy shit is that a mouth? I think I'm the first one to ever see that !"
And then you spent half the video talking about it.
It's the best outcome I've ever lived through.
Warden is a great swimmer
The sculk trap/jaw sadly got rejected
Well this aged well after minecon 2021
Dude just predicted the future. The Warden can swim, is immune to lava, and has a range attack
About the Sculk Stone, it will either get named as the Sculk Birth or the Sculk Chute or Sculk Cauldron. And the Sculk Jaw will probably will get named as the Sculk Trap
I've heard that the sculk jaw (aka the sculk trap) is being scrapped, kingbdawgs said he didn't like the design of it and says he'll be replacing it with a new trap, i think he tweeted about this not too long ago
Can you link the tweet I cant find it
For me skulk jaw is the block from which skulk sensors generate while skulk bone is the block from which all skulk blocks generate with the exception of skulk sensors and skulk bones themselves.
you were right, he does come out from the floor!
The aesthetic, the animation and the narration and humour in this video is awesome and I love it
You weren’t wrong about the warden bursting out of the ground part
Possibility for the warden: the skulk fangs
My ideas for this is that they would be like evocation fangs for the warden, coming up out of the ground and bite you like usual, but much harder and only activated in the event you go to a cheap spot (I.E, 5-up blocks tall or in a 1 block wide hole, being able to appear on top of an elevated block you stand on.) they would look like evocation fangs except slightly larger, containing a mouth with teeth like that of the skulk jaws block/warden’s ribs, a tongue similar to the skulk sensor’s “vines,” and having the color scheme of the skulk. They could even be able to pop out of the skulk jaws all-a the ruined gloomy tiles from the savage and ravage mod, except re-activating.
This is pretty cool, this guy does theories as well as animations! I love it.
Also, I hope that he always uses this mic. It makes it sound like an informational documentary. So good.
I like the idea of sculk sensors only picking up low frequency movements in the air.
My reasoning for this is that you see them wave slightly in the air on their own, perhaps due to slight, imperceptible wind.
Perhaps they only react to movements, rather than vibrations, as sounds would be too high frequency to register as wind.

I really appreciate everything you've said! :)
If the warden were able to shot a projectile it should be able to go trough blocks like vexes do, that way it can counter players from hiding in a hole
Warden is the first mob that I'm legit terrified about encountering, especially after this video. This's going to be the best mob in the game in my opinion!

Thanks KingBdogz for shouting out this amazing channel.
I find it funny that at 1:42 you mentioned that warden looks like it could come out of the sculk jaw, and as shown in the recent snapshot and minecraft live, the warden could come out of the ground if a sculk shrieker were to be activated enough times
Hands down the best video I've seen explaining the Warden and Sculk's blocks! Excellent work! It really was very interesting, entertaining and intriguing to watch. :)

This is such a creative , well done and simplistic video I love how he just saw 6 pixels on a block and instantly had ideas for what it could do , I swear I haven't even noticed that the skulk jaw was a thing in the trailer, this dude just made one of the best videos on the cave update
Man predicted the wardens supersonic attack
ahhh, back when people thought the sculk jaw was going to be added..
And the sculk heart as well lol
Still weird to me that even after the 1.19 update is out, people still think that The Warden is a boss; it's not meant to be killed
You've only made 3 videos as of now, but from what I've seen till now, your content is brilliant.
Your videos are creative, the narration sounds great, the production quality is very high, everything looks really good, and the execution is just fantastic.
You're without a doubt one of the best Minecraft TH-camrs, and one of the best TH-camrs in general, on the entire platform.
You damn madman did Predicts that Warden coming out ground from the sculks!
Bro casually predicted the warden
Imagine if the Warden could pull you down underwater and your breath would go down 5x as fast. That would be awesome.
So Uhh The Warden Rising From The Skulk Was Accurate
In the clip of the sculk jaw "activating" and turning into the variant with the tan pixels, there's a sculk sensor right next to it. It'd be interesting if when powered via redstone, it would then deal damage to any entity standing on top of it. this could also be a VERY interesting way of introducing automatic block breaking through having the sculk jaw eat through it. Point being that it could be useful for redstone, just like the sensor. If they made it usable for automatic block breaking, it should probably be pretty rare, as well as making it so that both the jaw and the sensor are only obtainable using silk touch.
edit here: It'd also be pretty cool if instead of dragging you down into it and fully immobilizing you, the sculk jaw just dealt damage and while you're on top of it, gave you the same speed as if you had slowness 3. could make bringing speed potions useful but risky, as the warden might hear you, but you get slowed less by the jaws.

Came back here after the Warden's sonic boom attack was introduced. Pretty neat coincidence that a range attack was added for the warden.
Long comment incoming:
With the 1.19 now out, it is kind of shame that some of these ideas weren't added.
I like the current deep dark, don't get me wrong. I love the idea of having to hide from a mob instead of just killing it like any other hostile mob.
I just think it's a bit *too* easy because you have to set off shriekers 4 times...! 4 times is a *lot* of mistakes that have to be made, and it's not even guaranteed that you'll die. If you stand still from a distance, the Warden will get bored and dig underground again.
I think the best thing to add would either be a block that actually hurts you significantly when stepped on, and in doing so, it would make the sculk sensors go into 'signal mode', meaning if you were to step on a block with fangs, that signal would be sent to a sculk sensor which would send a signal to a sculk shrieker, The Warden will AUTOMATICALLY spawn. No exceptions.
The other option is to make shriekers spawn the warden upon the first shriek (maybe second, but even that's too much in my opinion.)
As a very careful player that rarely dies (unless it's from my own stupidity), I do trip up in the deep dark a couple times - it's bound to happen no matter who you are.
I sent a shrieker off probably about 4 or 5 times, but a lot of these occurances were separate cities from one another or happened long after the cooldown refreshed.
I feel like the cooldown should be removed or at least minimized since players that play it safe will make mistakes rarely.
Since Mojang is techically still developing this update (1.19.1 snapshots/previews), adding a huge change like an entire new sculk block would be pretty unrealistic. But at least make a change with the amount of shreikers that need to be activated to summon The Warden because I've never seen a Warden in-game yet, and my singleplayer world is locked on hard mode lol.
TL;DR: The Warden is currently way too easy because it takes 4 shriekers to spawn. Mojang should make a change in which only 1 or 2 shriekers need to be set off.
Another problem I have is players can easily run away when the Warden is burrowing up, as the Warden cannot detect vibrations during this. This basically means that players can simply run away as the Warden is summoned, and the Warden will never detect them.
I had a thought about the Sculk Jaw. Since it looks like the Warden’s chest, maybe it calls for any nearby Warden when stepped on. Or it traps you like you said. Or both
I sense a great channel will be born.
I suppose your way of the sculk jaw (Or 'Sculk trap' last I checked the wiki) makes more sense, although since powder snow and cobwebs are both trap blocks that you fall through, I hope they make it more original. I imagined a second part of the blocks extends out and traps you when you walk on it, similar to a piston. I had the same sword idea, although I imagine you would break the extended bit with your sword to get free, and use your hoe for the trap block itself.
I think you're right in thinking the sculk stone (Or sculk seed) is what spreads the sculk around. I imagine sculk growths can radiate from it, attaching to nearby blocks, before converting the blocks to sculk blocks. To keep the blobs from being too big, a sculk patch can only have a limited number of sculk blocks. It would be cool if this number varies with different sculk seed blocks. The seed blocks wouldn't be movable, as Mojang like making players travel places to set up different farms.
I love the idea of the warden being able to send sculk trap blocks where you're standing, to keep you from getting out of reach.
The Warden is gonna pop out of the ground like in this video.
I think the "Skulk Jaw" might have been redesigned into the Skulk Shrieker. Unless the Skulk Jaw was shown off in the new footage, and we missed it
Kingbdogz confirmed on his twitter that the skulk jaw isn't likely to get in the final release
i dont think the "sculk stone" is end stone, just because it has a similar color doesnt mean its the same thing. the sculk stone is a lot smoother, while the end stone looks more like a volcanic rock
the end stone texture is literally just the cobblestone texture but in negative colors
I won't exactly rule out the possibility that it's connected to the end though, because it looks similar to a shulker, heck even their names are similar
Kingbdogs confirmed on twitter
They are like a bone material. Not end stone
I think instead of the warden growing skulk which could grief builds by replacing blocks with skulk I think the warden should be able to interact with the player by grabbing them. If the warden grows skulk and gets you in a skulk trap you could still be fine if you’re far back enough. Being in the room shown in the video would be pretty safe if you avoid the trap once you get out. It being able to grab you would be both terrifying and awesome. It could maybe crouch making itself 3 blocks tall instead of 4 and it could grab you and throw you or bite you dealing massive damage. Someone also mentioned a fear status effect that leaves you unable to place blocks which would also be helpful and could trigger when it roars.
Sculk jaw hasn’t been added to the game but hopefully in 1.20
just wait till this man finds out about the warden spawn animation
Its a shame the sculk jaw never became a thing.
Honestly, I think this style is more suited for Minecraft trailers. Yeah, the current ones are nice but don't really reflect Minecraft. But this style is great, high quality, and interesting to look at.
