Jason Momoa (Dune) is in early talks to star in a live-action Minecraft film in the works at Warner Bros, sources tell Deadline.
Minecraft is a first-person survival game developed and published by Mojang Studios that spans multiple platforms. The first installment in the franchise debuted in November 2011, with the latest, Minecraft Dungeons, being unveiled in May 2020. While specifics as to the long-gestating film’s plot have been kept under wraps, Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) is now set to direct from a script by Chris Bowman & Hubbel Palmer (Masterminds).
Mary Parent, Roy Lee and the late Jill Messick will produce alongside Mojang’s Lydia Winters and Vu Bui, with Jon Berg, Cale Boyter and Jon Spaihts serving as exec producers.

I've never even thought about what a creeper would look like irl. But that is horrifying.
I'd probably picture it a dark green rather smoky tnt robot, only designed to move to a target and self destruct. Since the creature's facials are not of irl world, I think it would make a lot more sense if a Creeper was robotic, with some kind of soundproof feet and a robot Minecraft icon face.
@@danielmorgan1126 I mean that’s a cool idea, but it’s supposed to be a creature, not a robot, it doesn’t act or sound like a robot in the game, it seems that it would fit better as a very stealthy and strange alien looking creature that exists in the Minecraft world known as a monster that sacrifices itself by blowing up the threat to protect its babies or territory, similar to how a bee will sting the threat but will die from doing so. I also think that the creeper doesn’t have tnt inside it, rather it somehow evolved to be able to explode and has some form of biological alien like gun powder inside it that humans can use just like normal gun powder.

Think it’d be cool if they did an animation where something like if the main guy some how gets inside the game but everything’s cubed and make it have some comedy inside it and by defeating the ender dragon only then does it allow him to return back to earth or something. Maybe then you could have a sequel where he’s brought back some glitch that slowly turns the world into minecraft.

If someone is going to make a Minecraft movie, they should at least ask the creator some spoilers about the game's lore and plot. The story of this could basically be anything. Coming from speedruns, to fanmade Minecraft series to even just gameplays with mods. Not to mention that the iconic design was replaced with realistic features.
I've been playing minecraft for over 10 years. Watched so many different videos, animations, stories, etc. Even announcing the official "MOVIE" to be live action is a MASSIVE insult to the game and all the amazing work that other part time animation teams have done. It will not freaking work. They want to know the route they should go by wait of HOW it should be made, then take a good long look at Rainimator, Squared Media, Element Animation, and more. They made it work soooooooooo well. It will have to take a literal breakthrough for them to even make it work live action, and would have to do even more to convince me that it could be treated like the official Movie. Good Luck Warner Brothers. You are going to need it
