  • Incubating duck eggs using kebonnixs incubator.
    -Duck eggs incubate for 28 days
    -Rotate 4 or more times a day
    -Squirt with warm water each time you rotate eggs
    -let cool for 20 min each day
    -candle day 1,7, and 25
    - remove any eggs that are not viable
    - lock down last 3 days
    -hatch some cute ducks
    Our eggs are Welch harlequin eggs. I candled the eggs regularly to show growth expectancy and measures the air sac as it grew. Air sac should grow to loose 1:3 its weight by the end of the hatch

    I really like this little incubator. I set six pekin duck eggs in it and have 4 out of 6 hatched and 2 pipped and progressing. It holds temps really nicely and humidity isn't too bad to control. Thanks for the video.

    I have this incubator and it slightly turns the eggs for me. In a 24 hour span they have turned over. I mark the X and smiley face too. Unless this is a newer make idk but it does it all. Automatically stops turning on day 25 as well. I just have to remove a yellow separator it comes with to space them out some to hatch. Great video.

    love your video, it was very useful and helpful. this is my first time hatching my ducks eggs and do not have an actual incubator but instead using a huge wood box that we built for our ducks when they were ducklings and putting the heat lamp over the labeled eggs to have it be about 99.5 degrees. the eggs are laying on healthy shredded wood chips and spraying four times a day and turning them as i spray. is this a good enough way to take care of them, will they hatch? do you have any tips? also i was wondering what do you mean by when you say in the video putting the eggs in "lockdown" is that where you shut the incubator heat off and keep them in there as you watch them hatch? it would mean a ton if you could answer to this comment, it would be so helpful!!! thanks:)

    • @sapphireskiesfarm8296
      @sapphireskiesfarm8296  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lockdown is when you increase the humidity and do not open the incubator until the eggs have hatched and the birds have fluffed up. The temp should be kept still at about 99.5. Sounds really neat the incubator you made

      I just got mine, seems to stay at the humidity and temp pretty well, there were a lot of happy people on the reviews, I have not used mine yet because i currently have another incubator going with eggs right now, the janoel-10, I really love the j-10 because all of my eggs, all 13, I stacked a couple, all that should show signs are, and are moving, it doesnt show the humidity but you can always buy a humidity reader and put it at the bottom, and it has temperature in celcius, tell me how it goes! Good luck

    • @sapphireskiesfarm8296
      @sapphireskiesfarm8296  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used it for a solid year one batch right after another. I found that it held humidity and temp for the full year and then it started to decrease. So I just used a hydrometer and thermometer and adjusted the temp as needed. I’ve been using it for 1.5 years consistently

    • @amberpineau7950

      Give it a break Willy. Yes it's sad, but you're being very judgmental. Kids mess up, it's part of being kids, especially LITTLE kids. And it's not like she just let him be around it, kids have a way of getting into things they're not supposed to. Our 2 year old managed to break the baby lock off the door to the room where our brooder was while I was in the bathroom. He was in there for maybe 3 minutes before my five year old saw him and started freaking out screaming for me. Needless to say 2 year old hugged one chick to near death. Really thought it wasn't going to make it. It was pretty lifeless for about 10 minutes and then it was ok. But stuff happens, you can't help it.
