I was diagnosed with atypical anti-glomerular basement membrane disease. It's similar to what you have. I have been on cemo, rituximab and now on cellcept. Thanks for sharing as the road I may be on.

What was your GFR when you started dialysis?

Your so very helpful. I did wonder, when doing manual pd, how long did it take for the 4.4 lbs. of liquid to empty in to you? And how long to empty out? I know you do every 4 hours getting a bag but, is it 40 minutes? 60 minutes?

    Thank you for your kindness.
Do you mind my asking: why do you think your kidneys failed? And do you now think it is possible to slow down the decline - or is it just that there is a weakness in the organs ?
Thank you. And wishing you the best.
By the way, even though you suffered hair loss, you have beautiful hair, I noticed, in another video.

I have FSGS. It is a rare Kidney Disease where my body is attaching my Kidneys. My doctors are not sure if the Lithium I was taking caused the FSGS or if I just have bad luck. We tried to slow down the disease but it didn't respond to the treatment. For a lot of people with Kidney Disease, you can slow down or stop the decline of Kidney function by changing diet and exercising. The key is to catch it as soon as possible. Thanks for your comment!

Have you ever tried dialysis shakes ?.

Before I was able to get an appointment with a Nephrologist, my PCP gave me protein shakes. I was so sick (I think it was because my Creatinine was climbing) that I would just throw it up. After that experience I can't make myself drink protein shakes. Maybe there's better ones out there that I haven't tried yet.
