    As an Everton fan I am amazed with the (non intentional) handball. It is the type of offence that gets you a free goal even when the ball was going no where near the back of the net, so based on that something should have been given. The other two are questionable. Everton have been in that position so many times and NOT recieved any attention from the ref/VAR.
    I dont think NF have done themselves any favours by going public the way they did. I am sure there are formal protocols for this type of situation. As a result, they are more likely to get any action resisted than acted upon.

    I'm an Everton fan. Many Evertonians have commented this season, with more justification or not, that Everton haven't been awarded penalties when they should have been.
    I try to look those incidents as objectively as possibly and many times I haven't, in my mind, agreed with the penalty shouts of many other Evertonians.
    For example the kick by a Bournemouth player against Dominic Calvert-Lewin was in the mind of many Evertonians a clear penalty. But I thought it would have been a quite "soft" penalty decision, and I can understand it was not given.
    After saying that, imo not any of those three incidents by Ashley Young warranted a penalty. Both his "kicks" were minor contacts and the "hand-ball" touched unintentionally his arm.
    And moreover, surely it would have been much more justifiable to give a penalty from the Calvert-Lewin incident than any of those three connected with Young.
    The English football matches have been admired all over the world for many decades by the manner they are played: along the skill the endeavour and the fighting spirit and the "never-say-die" attitude. We all have also endorsed the mentality not to give "soft" penalties!!!!
    Unfortunately that has somewhat changed with the VAR. Nowadays there are too many too lightly given penalties after the VAR check.
    The modern game is so fast that you can't penalise every minor "kick" or hand-ball in the box (the latter should be penalised only if a player raises deliberately his arm trying to stop the ball).
    The only situations where "soft" penalties are not yet given, are the pushing incidents, and that is good.
    One more thing, that has nearly "killed the game", have been the too narrow offside lines. It's a real travesty that a good build-up goal can be afterwards disallowed by a marginal offside! It has killed much of the enjoyment of the whole game when you can't instantly fully celebrate a goal.
    Many times you can sigh of relief only after and if the VAR check informs onside. Or alternatively there is a huge disappointment if the goal has been chalked away by a "millimeters" offside!
    The lines should be so broad that everybody could see in a still picture if the player was offside. Hopefully the new on-coming technology will correct this.

    Why would Luton want a draw? Surely an Everton win is more favourable to Luton?

  • @Adedayoaa
    @Adedayoaa 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

    On Luton fans wanting a draw, they only need to be ahead of 1 of the teams in question so a defeat for the one with lower points is better than a draw. They would have wanted Forest to lose.

    I’m with Forest on this one.
    Maybe they didn’t need to say the bit about Luton, but they are fully within in their rights to say something about VAR because its awful.

    Anthony Taylor, Paul Tierney, Stewart Attwell, why do we know these names? Because of their calls and how aggregous their actions are. The whole lot of referees in the UK need to be examined for their biases. And you wonder why the Roma fans were after Anthony Taylor in the airport, if he was calling the game fairly they would not have tried to hurt him.

    Flatten burg is a spokesman for Nottingham Forest who it’s plain to see have been at the wrong end of too many wrong decisions. I therefore believe that Battenberg is correct to highlight this. And you lot can pontificate all day, you should be focussing on the terrible decisions which are clearly happening to certain clubs more than others, namely the ones lower down the table. “I don’t like the statement from Nottingham Forest” well tough, are they not free to speak out? I’ve watched every game, two major decisions have gone in Forests favour all season, but I’ve lost count of the numbers of bad decisions that have gone the other way

    The options are he's incompetent or he was unable to stay impartial... You can't have both. And I think the bigger issue is people say these issues will balance out through the year but forest have not had that balance. I'm not saying they're the only team with bad decisions but it's clearly not working

  • @ste4392

    If he's that good at his job and that consistent at making correct calls, what else do you do but question his integrity? Do top officials make 3 errors like that?

  • @eiler1987
    @eiler1987 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    They didn’t question the integrity. The just said that they informed the pgmol of Stewart’s preferred club. The pgmol decided not to do anything and their man messed up 2/3 times. So are NF stating what they had tried to have done, correlation isn’t causation but it puts the question to find out.
    When they release the audio, it will show incompetency that in any other job could be grounds for termination(repetitive failures by officials). Even worse they fail when they have slow motion, replay, and loads of angles. But can’t handle making their buddy’s look bad

  • @juvwon
    @juvwon 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    It's one of two things, either the PGMOL puts consistently incompetent refs in charge of decisions, which means they need to be stepped down or they are complicit in the biased decisions or lack thereof, which means they are corrupt.

    "as a luton fan youd want a draw" - great referees can only shape a game so far. Its not like they can dictate the result but they can weigh the game against a single side if they want to.

    This idea Luton wanted a draw...Why, that puts Everton 3 pts ahead and Forest 2. The best result was an Everton Win. This means Forest stays just 1pt ahead and Everton are almost safe and guess where Luton can pick up points from a "safe" team...at Everton. If Everton lost then they'd probably need to beat Luton.?

    If you cannot call-out ones integrity you will get bias and probable corruption. PGMOL should note, to most fans, the PGMOL comes across as a bunch of amateurs refereeing the professional game.
