VARs should not also be game officials. It should be a specialist job where you're not looking out for your "mates" or deferring to the Olivers and Taylors because of their seniority.
Why not just avoid the appearance of corruption.
As a Luton Fan, we definitely wanted Forest to win. Attwell must be a Watford fan.

There are blogs about Attwell been "outed" as a Luton Town fan from 2010 which doesn't make Forest statement as ludicrous that these pundits are trying to make out

Argentina needed to become WC to give immense commercial gains for everyone involved gaining from the 'Messi Brand'. Messi needed the WC to be labeled best player ever. The Messi Brand is exactly what was needed to gain more popularity in USA.
Asia, Africa and middle East already in a football fever so anything linked to Messi sells more as before, for more as before.
Similarly the PL as a Brand will influence games if the outcome is worth it.
Everton was punished pretty harsh with a huge point deduction. I guess Everton was punished accordingly but PL seemed to forget this meant MCity punishment would be in the spotlight and also needed to be punished accordingly.
MCity has a much bigger case waiting and if they'll be punished accordingly it would bring a shockwave. It would hurt the PL Brand severely. The Reputation is now at stake.
So city won't be punished accordingly maybe a few points deducted, transfer restrictions and some huge fines. Some stupid arguments to close the case and soon forgotten.
Being punished accordingly MCity will be labeled as a bunch of frauds winning the PL repeatedly. The English CL winners are frauds, the WC winners are frauds, The PL itself will be labeled as fraudulent.
Surely Everton was aware of what was at stake for the PL if MCity is exposed. Everton was fully aware they were punished harshly. Everton surely knew the PL made a mess. Everton wasn't going to accept their punishment and possible relegation while MCity is going to be punished lightly to protect the intire image of PL
I'm guessing Everton stood strong. Used the MCity mess as defence. Some points were given back. behind closed doors PL probably guaranteed Everton they wouldn't be relegated this season. (So PL influenced the NF match and maybe another match or 2 to keep Everton in).
In return Everton fully excepted verdict and be silent regarding Mcity case

Real winning the CL is always profitable because Real was always labeled as 'team of the world' . Maybe Mbappe winning CL against Real to win it for Real the following year will make Mbappe the new 'super Brand' eventually winning the CL with..... 4-5 different teams😂

1. It's possible the VAR is biased (unconsciously) without being corrupt. 2. It's possible that even though he's a professional official, he is nevertheless corrupt, or at least susceptible to being unconsciously biased. 3. Human beings are fallible. Even those that reach some of the very highest position of responsibility and trust in society. We only have to look at the behaviour of MPs and some police officers in recent years to see that. To think otherwise and blindly trust that everyone must be behaving properly because of the position they hold is extremely naive.
The fact he was employed in the first place screams conflict of interest. The FA allowed it...
Been known for years that Attwell is a Luton fan, his parents are season ticket holders and he hasn't been the official for any of their games this season.

Stuart Atwell is from Staffordshire, so I'd be stunned if he was a Luton fan - what offends me more about Atwell is that he just a terrible referee. As a fan of a lower league club, I can attest to this, having had to witness him ruin many games involving my club when he first started out.

OK so we are saying that there's no biased refs of VAR officials, (that's bullshit for a start) so why can't the PMGLO be taken to court for there incompetence, they are in charge of decisions that effect multi million pound clubs and there staff are not sufficiently trained or up to the task of making correct decisions. therefore ultimately they are at fault.

Here’s the truth. Forest were second best yesterday. The three penalty appeals were valid but none were stonewall. Their reaction is beyond embarrassing and is only going to put the team under more pressure and take away the focus from the fact they can’t buy a win away from home
