I work in a veterinary clinic and people think I should let them in to sit in the waiting room before we open. Let's see, me alone with a bunch of strangers in a building with cash, syringes, and controlled substances. They get so angry when I say no. The entitlement is bizarre.
6+ years in vet med, I don't answer the door or phones until open. They can wait in the car.
Reminds me of my vet the procedure was so urgent he let me come in on a holiday so I get there half an hour early 'cause he's pretty far away from me and I was expecting more traffic so I'm thinking to myself I'll just wait in the car and after 5 minutes he walks out to come and get me 'cause he got there early too that was pretty funny, dog survived btw

I work in healthcare, so I understand that someone else's emergency isn't mine and patients can become unruly because they're upset. You meet them where they are. People love their animals. 😢

I remember when I worked at McDonald's and one night the manager of the bar across the street came through the drive through and complained to me about how it was stupid our loby was closed because she always sent people over here to eat after they stopped serving food/when she didnt want to deal with them anymore. And now she had to send them in their cars and so it was our fault if any of them got a DUI. I told my manager and then a week later she came through again yelling at whoever was at cash about how we'd gotten her in trouble with the cops for "tattling"

Maybe the bar owner should train her staff better to cut customers off alcohol when they get belligerent?

Well, if she's sending you all business, I mean, why not? Money is money and as so long as they aren't causing trouble for me, I wouldn't mind taking their money and serving them. I can honestly see that bar owner's point but not for the reason she suggested. I just see the lost revenue.

I have my own “The door was unlocked” story. This was a couple months into the pandemic, when a lot of restaurants were drive-through only. The thing was a lot of places didn’t have signs saying they were drive-through only, and some had conflicting signs. Our local Burger King had a sign indicating their lobby was open, and when I opened the door, it was unlocked. I entered and waited at the cash register to give my order. It was a few minutes before a worker (possibly a manager) noticed me, and she was surprised & confused to see me. She asked, “How did you get in here?” and I told her, “The door was unlocked.” It turned out the lobby wasn’t open (I don’t know why they had the sign, then) and I had only been able to get in because someone had forgotten to lock the door behind them. As I left to go through the drive-through, I swear I heard the manager tell someone, “Go lock that door!”

MY 5 YEAR OLD HAS OCD WHEN IT COMES TO HIS HAPPY MEALS. he doesn't get them often, usually as a reward for doing really good with his chores or something, but almost every time he gets one he opens the wrapper really slow and then sighs like a middle-aged man worried about his mortgage and looks at me and goes "mommy, it's all crooked" bc the bun is all messed up and then the patty itself is like half on the bottom bun with the rest sticking out the side. I always have to fix it for him, so I feel Dane's pain.

I volunteered once at a non profit that drove people home at night on weekends. It was specifically for drunk people but anyone could use it. They ended up putting the person with auditory issues (me) on the phone/dispatch. Drunk people are unbelievably difficult to understand over the phone and more so when their emotions are on a hair trigger. You can take a guess at why I never volunteered there again

8:06 They 100% drunkenly walked to the “24 hour McDonalds” to find the lobby closed, and tried the classic “walk thru the drive thru” move, got turned down, then got hostile. The correct move in that instance is to politely shop the cars in line offering to pay for their food essentially as payment to “rent their car/spot in line” to get your food. I’ve been on both sides of the coin and it may take a couple tries, but it never fails

I was waiting in line for my prescription, it took 15 minutes because there was an insurance issue. The woman who was helping me was doing extra work. Me and the people behind me in line were just sitting in our air conditioned cars.
