    Wowo, it's because we have people who run these networks with "University" degrees, but yet think having automatic updates "enabled" is a "good idea". The outage seems to have been caused on the same day that MS pushes updates out to the world, so it makes sense that the outage was so wide-spread and at the same time.

    It was crowdstrike, nothing to do with Microsoft

    • @IRLWojak
      @IRLWojak  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was the Microsoft 365 suite that got affected most from what I understood, Crowdstrike was the developer of the bad code no? Wasn't it Microsoft's 365 stuff that went caput?

    • @GurtGobain
      @GurtGobain หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @IRLWojak Think of it like you have an anti-virus software installed that keeps causing Windows to crash. That's the fault of the third-party company who made the software, not Microsoft, right? That's basically what's happening here

      100% Crowdstrike issue
      The media outlets are putting Microsoft in article titles, but this issue was Crowdstrike. Not a security breach or hack of any kind - just good old fashioned incompetence.

  • @Slavalk
    @Slavalk หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    It was crowdstrike's oopsie, not microsoft's. And it was a faulty driver, not hacking.

    • @IRLWojak
      @IRLWojak  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know it wasn't Microsoft at large but it was their 365 suite of software that failed. I also know it wasn't hacking, I stated this a few times but you must have mis heard - I talk about hacking and the potential for hacking but I said It was bad code. I just wanted to make a connection to my other Hacktivism video. Thanks for watching!

      HURRRRR DURRRRRR ME WANT CASH.
      Wtf do you think theyre going to do with cash if the computers are down anyway? Manually tally and record all the transactions for the day on paper and input it later? We already dont have protocols in place for that any more.

    • @IRLWojak
      @IRLWojak  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So what would they have to do in order to keep track of transactions? Because certainly stuff happened or was meant to happen. What is the alternative to what you don't like? Cash is obsolete for sure if the computers are down, so barter and trade would make a swift return?

    • @matthew.kunovic
      @matthew.kunovic หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@IRLWojak there is no alternative. I'm just pointing out potential issues with e money, and systems going down. If systems are down for a long period people will have to revert back to the "medieval Days" temporarily. I'm not against digital money or cash. They both have their purposes in this society.

      @IRLWojak Remember there used to be those credit card machines that basically imprinted a copy of your card on a piece of paper? It was before even my time, but you probably saw it as a kid. That's the alternative... every store having filing cabinets full of credit card info on paper, and we'd probably also have to return to accepting cheque's. In today's low-trust society I don't think we could do it like we did in the 80s.

      What is "the internet" payments? Like CashApp, Venmo, etc? We don't have any of those options in Canada. Except e-transfers which can take hours to go through.
      I see debit/credit machines go down periodically at Shoppers and other stores. I try to keep $100 in my wallet but my wife gradually takes from it over time for raffles and stuff and I think I haven't carried any cash in 6+ months except a loonie to get a cart from Walmart. Even if I had $100 in my wallet I still wouldn't be able to pay for my average grocery shop in cash when I got to the till. They'd need to pu signs on the front door saying machines are down.

    This was planned and intended to happen if you take into consideration all that's been happening since 2020 with the ongoing social and economic decline. There's always someone that gains from an events of this scale. (Consider the changes made after 9/11) The worker bees or ants at the bottom will demand drastic action so it doesn't happen again. The solution will then be made ready to be rolled out by governments around the world.
    "Like anything they do it is leading to greater and greater centralization, which this will be used as an excuse for because, clearly, this decentralized approach to the internet is far too open to exploitation. Naturally, they do like to cover multiple objectives during these events, so indeed it could have also been destabilize the economic system; to gather data on how people react and behave. This just shows the level of control that a digital system provides to the managerialist class. At any moment they can destabilize the economy, wipe the simulation clean, and dispose of the collective knowledge of society." -Silas Speaks
