This is my first time learning peyote/bricks stitch ever. I was able to grasp this fairly quick as you are a wonderful teacher who knows how to explain steps really well, in detail and keep repeating the steps the whole way through to reinforce what you’re learning. Thank you!!!!

I can't tell you how much your brick stitch demo made my day! I tried to start a pattern with seed beads in brick stitch and got so frustrated at the wonky way the foundation row was lying I gave up. I tried tutorials and they all used cylinder beads which lie so nicely it didn't help. I was just sure I was doing it wrong! Now I know that's how it's supposed to be until you get more rows, and maybe reinforce the first row. Wow, you fixed a year-long irritation, now I can make the pattern that stumped me And this one you showed with some of my beloved chips I've been collecting. Thanks a whole bunch!

Hi Gina-thank you so much for sharing this bracelet "how to" with us. I thought the face was very cool, and I also like the green colorway--a lot. This also looks like, if you really want a real "funky" version of this bracelet, just gather all your leftovers from other projects and start beading.

Whoever it was that you purchased the gemstone chips from needs to sponsor you. I have always loved how gemstone chips look, bought them, and then wound up doing a simple string ugly bracelet or necklace that I hated. I think I will love following this pattern and know I will love the look.

I came up with a very similar design to this some time ago, but I'm not particularly fond of brick stich, so I used Peyote stitch to create tubes of Miyuki 11/0 Delicas at either end (by doing a flat uneven count peyote section about 8 beads high then rolling it into a tube and 'zipping' together with thread) then I did the same thing you have with the strands of seed beads and Amethyst gemstone chips, but alternating with matching 3mm round Amethyst gemstone beads. Finally I filled each tube with 3 x clear round 3mm crystals (to stop the tubes from going flat) and added one last central strand of seed beads and gem chips/beads, by sewing down through the holes of the clear round crystals, and adding pretty Sterling Silver bead caps to either end of the peyote tubes, and then adding the clasp to the centre strand by going down through the clear round crystals and bead caps, and adding wire guards at either end. I wear it constantly, and have since made a matching necklace in exactly the same same way, and about a dozen of the bracelets in different colours and gemstone chips/beads for gifts..They're fun to make, are a great way to use up all of those gemstone chips in my stash as well as small amounts of seed beads left over from other projects, and I can finish several bracelets in an afternoon. I also make my own gift boxes and gift cards to fit inside each box, all wrapped up in pretty satin ribbons. They're always well received!
This is a lovely design also, it's just wider than the design I came up with. Mine appears to be a bit thicker as the beaded strands are more 'bunched together' due to the use of the peyote tubes at the ends, rather than being spread out with the brick stitch ends.
I just thought I would tell you about my own idea to give your viewers another way to go about a very similar idea should they choose an alternative.
I love your work and always enjoy your tutorials. Thank you!

I am very, very impressed by your ability in designing jewelry. You are a Master. Also, the fact that in some of your presentations, your talent is very much dependent on materials that have been sent to you, and not on what you have purposely chosen and purchased yourself, places you still yet another step higher in your capability to design gorgeous pieces. If your work was showcased in a much more public oriented manner, I honestly believe you could be the next Kendra Scott. I’ve seen a lot of pretty jewelry designed by ppl here on TH-cam & on Etsy, etc., but you are head and shoulders above them all. Your pieces are unique and current and timeless, all at the same time. I only just found you, but I’ve been watching several of your videos and, again, I’m very impressed. I think I will be ordering from your website very soon. From a new fan in Texas.✨💖✨

Such a great design! I think I’m starting to understand the difference in the stitches. Was the first row done in square stitch? Is square stitch the same thing as ladder stitch? And brick stitch uses the thread bridge between the beads, is that correct? Lol, just when I think I’m getting the hang of it, I get myself mixed up!!

Hi Sharon! You're getting there! :) The first row was ladder stitch, but I didn't want to throw another name into it, and confuse any newbies further. Brick stitch (with the beads woven onto the thread bridge) often starts with a ladder stitch row as the base.
I went back to an acrylic dip powder system that I've used before (months ago), just to do something different. They have been staying on a lot longer, and are really strong. I just don't like all of the sanding/shaping on the front end of it, but it's a nice change!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed this design!

Hehehehehe, it looks like a face for a pumpkin. So so cute. Sometimes, I make faces with left over food on my plate.

    Well done Gina.
Just so you know, the stitch that you use to begin your brick stitch is called a "ladder stitch". Semantics I know, so I'm not criticizing, just thought I'd let you know. 😊
All my best to you and yours as always!

You're absolutely right! It is ladder stitch to start. I wasn't sure if I should throw another name into the beading pattern, so as not to confuse newbies since I was trying to demonstrate brick stitch. Interesting that brick stitch is often started with that as the base. Thanks for watching!! :)

I’m interested in joining the ten tier. Terms of use confuses me as to amount that is taken out. Is it just the ten dollars

    • @ORCHIDandOPAL
      @ORCHIDandOPAL  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hi Jeaneane! First of all, THANK YOU so much! Yes, from what I understand, the way it works is they take the $10 at your time of joining, then $10 (or whatever amount you decide) once monthly going forward. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I appreciate it! :)

Hi April, you wouldn't be able to do the brick stitching with beading wire, unfortunately
