As mentioned in the intro/outro, I've made sure for me and my family to convert a significant percentage of pension etc. into physical precious metals ('real money'). If you are interested in taking similar action, I've agreed a follower's deal with The Pure Gold Company in London, UK (they have vault in NY and work with USA customers too, and will ship to you as desired) - just use the following link: bit.ly/ivor-cummings-gold This gives a special discount on the first year's storage charge. PureGold manage Storage or Delivery worldwide - Fully allocated and segregated vaults in London and Zurich (all fully insured). 5k minimum purchase, and they have an Unequivocal Buy Back Guarantee. You can cash out of the gold whenever you want - liquidate within 24 hours. Crucially they provide a free no-commitments consultation up front, to discuss your circumstances and goals.

IF, I say IF, there is no one to trade with and no chance of trading in the near future gold loses utility or value. In other words, even your person on the deserted island must have no hope of future interaction for the gold to be seen as valueless. He may still hoard the gold with expectations of the rescue ship. I do agree that unless he is mentally ill or dumb he will prioritize immediate survival items like food and water or the tools to obtain them.

@@vernonkuhns3561Don't you think that it's odd/strange why gold is viewed in this way in the first place? I know of one practical use, it's used in the engine bay of a super car for cooling purposes, apart from that, gold is just another lump of something that's dug up basically. Unlike with silver, iron, steel and titanium for example, all these have more practical uses that aid with living shall we say. History does prove that society goes back to trading with gold and silver but in the mean time food and other commodities that you need to survive will be more important I feel.

When you understand that the dollar denominated system is imploding, then you know that your first priority is to become as self-sufficient as possible and to work with your neighbors in building a resilient local community. You will also understand that the incoming BRICS global financial system will be a real money, gold-backed system. The Chinese created a gold-backed PetroYuan over three years ago, for example. Thus, if you have additional financial resources (i.e. dollar denominated savings and/or equities), then you would be wise to convert them into gold for a long term store of value and silver to facilitate transactions.
Those unable to climb a coconut tree or grow vegetables would be wise to have some silver to trade with those that are, yes? Dollars will be good for starting fires to cook or heat, not much else.
There is a reason that the BRICS countries are all stockpiling gold. The Russians , Chinese and Indians can do math, they know what is coming and are accelerating the BRICS system to lessen the impact of the dollar's demise on the rest of the world.
My only quibble with this interview is Hunt's timeline, the collapse will begin this year. The insane neocons and psychopathic Israelis will almost certainly try to start WW3 by May to cover the massive corruption that created this looming financial catastrophe.
Additionally, the British Empire did not go away, it simply shifted to the AngloAmerican Empire with The City of London and Wall Street using the U.S. military to enforce its power over most of the rest of the world. Due to massive corruption and pathetic incompetence that era is now, fortunately, coming to and end.
Finally, there is still a way to mitigate this looming nightmare and potentially avert a humanity ending nuclear war. The U.S. simply needs to lead the west toward a rational exchange of its massive debts for the complete elimination of all nuclear weapons and the closing of all overseas U.S. military bases. The west can then begin to rebuild their real economies and interact with the rest of the world as one of many in the new multi-polar world.
We ARE the leaders we have been waiting for.
It's time to step up, brothers and sisters!
LOVE is the only way forward.

@@IvorCumminsScience Ivor, I've followed you since the early days and appreciate you sharing your journey.
I'm just a little surprised how you have completely ignored bitcoin and it's proof of work protocols.
Money will flood into this as we are seeing now coming up to the halving in April..
I've spent many thousands of hours studying it, trying to understand it's utility, potential &. real market value. The implications of it succeeding are incredibly positive for humanity. The likelihood of it succeeding given the current global issues are very high and will only accelerate this year.
The world will not collapse as your wisened friend here assumes. Times are very different, we are far more connected than ever before and we need each other despite the tensions and issues.
So a suitable type of trusted holder of value that solves inflation is much sought after...= bitcoin...
Value is transferred immediately without the need of trust of the middle man.
There's a whole real free market system being built as we speak to harness bitcoins tether to efficient energy.
Don't get me started on the carbon 6 energy developments..
It may look bleak from an old system thinker such as this chap, but the true reality is v v different I'm happy to say.
I've been deep diving now in a dedicated fashion for over 14 years.. I've covered an extremely wide area to enable me to gain a more accurate perspective
I recommend you investigate bitcoin a little deeper then you already have.
This type of predication won't really help the vast majority of your audience.. It will only sow depression and desperation.
I understand your reasons, but it seems you're missing a whole chunk of data.
I can recommend some decent information sources if your interested?

The main problem is that the only real asset most people have is the equity in their house. In a depression, they have no excess income and there is every likelyhood that Governments will introduce a progressive asset tax. An increasing annual tax on your assets (house) will eventually see you having to sell the house and it will probably be to the state who will, in turn, rent it back too you.

But, rice & beans will go a LONG way for very little money. Buy this in bulk first.
Sugar is cheap now too but will be a premium later.
    If you can can/seal some flour & oats/meal, that's a bonus.
Peanut butter & jam will store easily for a couple years. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, black eyed peas, a hearty spinach (African), & some others grow VIGOROUSLY in not a lot of space.
And whatever room you have, find a place to plant at least one food bearing tree. Put something in your nearby woods! (Public spaces & parks should already have been FILLED w/ them!) Whenever it fruits, sooner or later, it will be appreciated. ❤️

I already put the following in your pinned comment replies, but it's important enough to repost it to be sure more will see it:
I need to acquaint you with something you mis-stated: that diesel fuel can be safely stored and forgotten about. Not so. Left on its own, diesel-eating algae proliferate and clog standing diesel fuel stores; it will emulsify and displace what clean fuel there is and clog your machinery operating on it, blowing out injector tips, let alone clogging your fuel filters beyond your capacity to buy enough of them. Storing fresh fuel with a biocide is important, and re-upping it periodically is advised. Otherwise you will need to buy or build a fuel-separating centrifuge and prepare to spend a lot of time cycling your fuel before even considering using it. Take it from a marine engineer who knows from direct experience.

PS---Here in remote bush Alaska we are wont through experience to always have extra food and other supplies stowed away, but in late 2019-2020 I really got my 'inner-prepper' up and running and have this much of a head start on what could come our way soon enough. It's only when you begin to get serious that you find how subconsciously dependent we are on supply chains and the convenience of going to the local box store for so much. There are literally hundreds of things we take for granted; simple every day things of convenience from cotton ear swabs to sewing needles. One truly must think things out and through. Nonetheless, cheers!

BTW, I am a huge fan of Ivor. I'm amazed at how much we think alike. We both are masters of critical thinking, questioning, looking at health from the big picture, and analyzing phenomenon critically and accurately. We agree on many things like diet, vitamin D, etc.
However, I have been listening to TH-cam financial experts from the Austrian school of economics, and others talk about the "coming collapse" for over a decade now.
Guys like Peter Schiff, Mike Maloney, Robert Kiosaki, the late Bob Chapman, and a few others have predicting incorrectly about an imminent crash...
These guys are nothing but broken clocks. Eventually they may be correct, but predicting the future accurately is almost impossible.

Once the system has collapsed - all by design - and the juggernaut has run through- which it will - and then their nefarious plans fail - which they will - that's when gold will be useful. Its unfortunate though as most of us don't have the cash now to be buying gold to be stored for the long term as we are just managing to get by. But..mentally prepared, get a few extra bits each week and when the crash comes, at least you are mentally prepared.

During the 90's productivity rose by 3,1% per year thanks to the internet, since then it was around 1% and it even got far worse during 2020-2022.
