I remember Peter very well. He was one of the friendliest and relaxed members of the recce wing I had the pleasure of meeting. I was a signaler at Omauni from Aug 83 to March 84 and then at Buffalo until Dec 84. I remember spending many a night shift in the signal room making battery packs for the recce wing. Roy Douglas

Well done guys. As usual so professionally done. I had absolutely no difficulty with the sound. Can’t understand how you could have a complaint. Keep it up!

Great interview thank you. This is a question for all you sf guys who were operating in the area at that time. One day we came across a 60mm ammo box almost full of plastic explosives. They were about the size of pork sausages. They would burn like gunpowder and one would be enough to get a dixy of water boiling. It took about a minute to burn. Well now you know what happened to all your plastic explosives, we used it to boil our water.

Interesting video and unpacking. The intricate breakdown and usage of every item was great. Each with there own back stories. One look at the map and Peter remembered an Angola road between 2 places in flash like it was yesterday.

Great presentation Peter. So many memories came flooding back. But where was the biltong, Tabasco sauce, and a nip of whiskey or Red Heart rum? All for medicinal purposes of course.

I've often wondered what radios were used. Solar panels would have been pretty Gucci kit back in those days. Interesting use of Dragonuv stock, thank you.

@@LegacyConversations Great to hear that. information about 32 Bn loadout/operational gear, 44 pathfinders…etc would be awesome. Anyway, thank you, Koos I appreciate your interest in knowing about my channel. My channel initially was just to play with my video editing skills. However, overtime it developed into a genre of introducing people to obscure conflicts or highlighting other aspects of known conflicts with short edited videos that follow a visual narrative. I have always had a profound interest in Cold War African wars & politics which in part my channel has attempted to give exposure. - Zermatt.

Wow I actually forgot how bug those radios were I think that is a TR28 and remember this equipment is about 38 years old but man very advanced for the time and I'm sure the replacement bag today will weigh a fraction and the radio will be small and satellite
