    @ adonist7, the flag was rippling because they were moving it, setting it in motion. There was no air, no friction, nothing to stop it other than the minimal effects of gravity.

    @UberWaiss 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    And about that star thing...
    Collins' response is a followup to Armstrong's reference to solar corona photography which had been taken from the command module during the translunar coast, in which all three astronauts participated.
    The reporter's question is a bit confusing since the solar corona cannot be seen from the lunar surface except when the earth eclipses the sun. Or, of course, from a spaceship positioned such that the earth is between the spaceship and the sun.

    there's no wind since theyre in space. because there is little to no air in space, there is very little friction in its atmosphere, so if they wave the flag just a bit while plantin it there is nothing to really completly stop it from waving for a brief period

  • @trylonperisphere
    @trylonperisphere 15 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The flag waves because the astronauts are waving it. It's being held up by an externsion along the top edge.

    it has gravity, that's why the people are still standing there and not floating, and don't even try to say anything about "weight" as it does not matter in this occasion.
    What is happening is there is no wind on the moon to shake the flag.
    ALSO. The most definite answer to your point is that there is a metal pole on the top of the flag (as well as the one holding it upright) so the flag is in a FIXED position.
    I'm not saying it's a hoax or not, just clarifying your point.

  • @UberWaiss
    @UberWaiss 15 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    And also..
    What Mr. Sibrel supplies is footage of the astronauts practicing for an upcoming telecast. Because television was added at the last minute, they hadn't had time to practice much with the equipment. So they were experimenting with different camera positions and exposure settings. Someone on the ground recorded it. Mr. Sibrel notes several observations which he can't explain in terms of his expectations, therefore he concludes the astronauts "must" have been faking it.
    pwned...

  • @stranger_gaming3976
    @stranger_gaming3976 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A pole was holding the flag down on the top, wind is caused by temp change, on the moon there is none. The only reason you see the flag moving (at the bottom corner of it) is because of them moving it, and gravity

    I would have to agree with anyone who thinks that sort of comment is inappropriate.
    "One small step for man, One giant leap for mankind."
    As well as the US at the time, Armstrong believed that this feat was an accomplishment for all of us as a species. Not just white people, not even just the United States! Today is a day to remember how cool it is to be human beings, and recognize what we can do as a species.

  • @UberWaiss
    @UberWaiss 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    And Btw...
    Mr. Sibrel has no actual evidence that the Apollo spacecraft stayed in low earth orbit the whole time, nor can he explain how it was able to go for two weeks without being spotted in the night sky. It would have been the brightest object in the sky next to the moon and Venus. And it would have been moving so fast that it would have transited the night sky in about three minutes. Bright, fast-moving objects in the sky attract attention.

    The first Antarctic lunar meteorite was collected in 1979, and its lunar origin was not recognized until 1982. Furthermore, lunar meteorites are so rare that it is very improbable that they could account for the 382 kilograms of Moon rocks that NASA obtained between 1969 and 1972. Currently, there are only about 30 kilograms of lunar meteorites discovered thus far, despite private collectors and governmental agencies worldwide searching for these for more than 20 years.
    There, Ripped to shreds.

    Armstrong gives interviews, but prefers not to appear on camera. He's shy. Everyone who knew him as an obscure test pilot testifies that he preferred keeping to himself. The statement in quotes, "Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies," is not a quote from Armstrong; it's a statement by Sibrel fishing for a less obvious reason why Armstrong refuses to talk to him. For Sibrel to place his own comments in quotes like that, implying that Armstrong said it, is very misleading.

    The same reason you can't see stars at night in a bright city - your eyes adjust to the brightness of the city lights, and can't see the dim, contrasting stars.
    The reflective surface of the Moon shines a lot of light upward and into the eyes of the camera and astronauts. The stars are thus nonexistent in pictures.

    the flag was fitted with a thin metal rod at the top in order to cause the illusion that it was waving by exagerating the small movments caused by the astronaughts placing it.

    Anyone who has an ounce of brain matter knows that a) the flag is hanging from a bar on top of the flagpole so it doesn't droop (wouldn't look that great being no wind on moon) and that it moves because the ASTRONAUT is moving it, which is physics. And for those who think it's fake because we haven't made a trip since, I have two words for you: money and politics. And if you give me the argument that they dock at the space station all the time, you should know it's much cheaper and less risky.

    sibrel was the one who found this unedited footage bcause he had acces to nasas archives.
    his intention wasto make a film to proove the moonlandings when he discovered contradictions after contradictions and changed his view of the apollo program.
    he was smart enough to realise that he got deceived for decades , thats something u lack for sure:)
