Shawn, Interesting story behind this song . The music is relaxed and nicely played. Very nice guitar and piano.. The lyrics seem harsh and the story is told. I agree that the instrumentation is uplifting in contrast with the dark lyrics. Good comments and reaction. Interesting song choice Caitlin.
Around 2:47 you can see my guy realize it wasn't a joke, a song for a laugh. It clicks. All the bitterness and sadness and whatnot. I'm not pointing this out to be an asshole....just that, all of us that have heard this song had a similar "come to Jesus" moment regarding the lyrics. Good content man, I just had to point out this one thing. xoxo
Returning here again, almost a year later. This song always gives me a good smile. I, for one, will never be sober, nor will anyone have anything good to say about me. :D
I love how they chose to make the music more upbeat, but also a little depresseling as if its like a mask that has cracks and its true face is revealed. The mask being the instrumental and the face are the lyrics
I remember reading that the reason it's called no children was not having children was the only thing either of them did right.
Makes sense and clever. Thanks for sharing!
The audience sings not just the chorus, but all the lyrics. Lustily!
Has to be great!
@@ReactionsToTheClassics I've been there, it is
Definitely give the whole album a listen. It is amazing! Nice review.
Thanks will for sure check it out!

One of my favourite comedy songs. Alas, most don't see it as comedy.
Glad to see someone who appreciates it in a similar light. :)

from what i've heard, the name No Children is in reference to divorce forms, where the Alpha couple would put "no children"
Aww makes sense. Thanks!
Also stone roses.... I am giving you gold.
Lots of stone roses up, they were great!
Contrast this with the opening track Tallahassee, a beautiful love song, no children makes me want to spite send it to an ex haha
