Hey guys, today we are taking you to the heart of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, as we visit country #120 on our incredible journey around the world. After a smooth 3.5-hour flight from South Korea, we landed in sunny Ulaanbaatar, immediately feeling the warmth of Mongolian hospitality.
Mongolia, known for its vast landscapes and deep-rooted nomadic traditions, is a country where the past and present coexist. Home to the legacy of Genghis Khan and the expansive Mongol Empire, it's a place of historical marvels and cultural richness. Despite its sprawling deserts and rugged mountains, Mongolia's population remains sparse, making it one of the least densely populated places globally.
Our first stop was the luxurious Kempinski Khan Palace, our home for the next five nights. We're excited to give you a tour of our amazing rooms here, along with the perks we enjoyed, like the spa and sauna - a true oasis in heart of the bustling city. 👉www.kempinski.com/en/hotel-kh...
We kicked off our exploration with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, sampling both local and continental dishes to fuel up for a walking tour of downtown Ulaanbaatar. Plus, we didn't miss out on visiting Shangri-La, the city's largest mall, and climbing up to the popular viewpoint at Zaisan Hill for some breathtaking views.
A highlight of our day was celebrating Angelique's acceptance into a coding camp in London! To mark the occasion, we explored the local market, affectionately known as the Black Market, and later indulged in a sumptuous dinner at Kempinski's KK Restaurant & Lounge.
Mongolia's rich history, once the heart of the largest empire on earth, was evident in our visit to the Gandan Monastery, one of Ulaanbaatar's most significant religious and cultural sites. But our trip wasn't all about exploration; we also took some time to relax with a massage and a spa day at the Kempinski, where we met a fellow world traveler and shared stories from our adventures.
Stay tuned because next, we're diving into the traditional local way of living in Mongolia, offering you a glimpse into the life that thrives beneath the vast skies of this beautiful country.
Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to Growing Up Without Borders for more of our family's adventures across the globe. Drop a comment below if you've ever visited Mongolia or if it's on your bucket list. See you in the next video!

I was initially shocked when i saw the Mongolia tag.. Knowing how bleak the winter weather is in Mongolia is at this time of year i was thinking this would be the worst time of year to visit Mongolia.. But then i realized you guys delay posting your video's often by months.. So looking at your video it looks like you visited Mongolia in the warmer months of the year..
Mongolian Ger.. It was funny when you said that because my family name is Gurr which is pronounced exactly the same as Ger,,
Oh and a correction while the Mongolian empire was one of the largest empires in the world it was not the biggest.. The Biggest was the British Empire..
The reason why they have both left and right hand drive cars is because many of their cars are second hand cars bought from different countries.. Japan drives on the left hand side of the road and is a source for many second hand cars for Mongolia..

That's exactly it...if we were there now we'd be absolutely frozen 😂😂 We went in May but it was still very cold. Thanks for sharing the info about the largest not biggest. The UK definitely made their mark around the world and both are pretty amazing since Mongolia is relatively small in my mind but so is the UK to have conquered so many countries out of 1 small island.
