    I remember when Kobe on a interview this year sometime that the style of play Houston runs wont win you a championship which is hero ball and this is coming from one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, so until Houston can find another system to run that involves the team a bit more I'm officially ruling them out as being a threat to the warriors or any other that plays as a collected group to win a championship

    • @MichaelWutsch

      Mike W Hero ball works when you pick your spots carefully. Kobe didn’t play hero ball the entire game, but when it was necessary he would. I specifically remember in Game 5 of the 2010 Finals, when the rest of the team was laying eggs, Kobe turned it on and at least kept them in the game. Regardless of the fact that they lost, that was when hero ball was needed. If they couldn’t win, then he’d at least make sure it wasn’t easy. If he had simply let the team roll over and take a beating on the road and fall down 3-2, there’s no telling if they’d had the ability to win the next two and win the 2010 Championship.

      I would take it even a step further in the analysis, and say that the hero/isolation play is compounded by the fact that Houston doesn't even do that particular aspect that well. Look at all of the games in this series, and note how many times Harden brings the ball up the court and passes the mid-court line with 17 seconds on the shot clock. Now, sure he beat the 8 second count, but he leaves his team with only 17 second left to execute in the half court. At that point, he dribbles without a purpose, not even crossing the hash mark in the half court, doesn't make a pass to a teammate, and doesn't make an aggressive move of any type until well under 10 seconds. That leaves Harden with maybe one pass to make, and when that teammate receives the ball, he's under pressure of the shot clock since he received the ball with maybe 4 seconds left on the shot clock. Their style of play leaves for no margin of error, and in the playoffs when the opposing team knows your offensive plays as well as you do, very little room to improvise and get a GOOD SHOT up. And Harden himself he drives the ball to the basket (which he should have done with 13 seconds on the shot clock, but usually waits until 7 seconds), or he does that ridiculous step back 3 point shot which is a horrible low percentage shot, especially against a playoff caliber team that is prepared for it, and you see the final result. D'Antoni's system presents many many options to the facilitator of the offense, and we saw Steve Nash take advantage of that with the Suns. It was a much more free flowing offense with lots of off the ball movement. In other words, the primary ball handler gets to choose which options he takes, and James Harden always takes the same option, which is himself. He doesn't run the offense to its potential, other than maximizing his own counting numbers. I hope when he said he "figured out something," he means he figured out which options he needs to take and that he needs to vary which options he chooses.

      The funny thing is, this Warriors team plays like that, a TEAM. OKC its all about Russ, Houston is solely onto Harden, but Golden State assembled a TEAM! If more NBA Teams realized “Lets build a TEAM instead of relying on one guy.” Every team wants the win now philosophy but dont realize that its all the right pieces. The teams that dominate and become dynasties are the teams that are built like a team. Lose that team aspect, you’re nothing. The NBA is the slowest sport to seemingly catch onto this, since nearly every other league (NFL, NHL, MLB, etc.) all rely on the TEAM principal, Basketball is more individual based, sure, but imagine having tons of young talent working as a team and not just deferring the ball to one or two people.

    Harden was the best player in the NBA this season. You can't blame him for being unable to carry the rockets against a superpower Warriors team. They lost the series with an 8 point total deficit. Blaming Harden for this close of a lose is like blaming Lebron for getting 4-0ed in the finals last year. It's absolutely ridiculous. Coming from a Warriors fan btw.

    Don’t tell me this Rockets team is better than 2016-17 Cavaliers. And that team got rekt by these Warriors. So what’s the fuss about. This Warriors team is really good and rockets are unfortunate to assemble this team in this era.

      Warriors were better plus kd was hungry then. And that Cavs team was also better. That's the year the whole playoffs got swept on both sides... Outside of one game because Bron was sick and a buzz beater by Avery game 3 vs Celtic's.

      Just shows you how great LeBron is, i believe hes the only one who gives the warriors problems. Give that man the proper ammunition to compete with them and he’ll get the job done 9 times out of 10. First finals with both Love and Kyrie healthy, he got the job done. KD ruined a great rivalry.

  • @Silasx4

    It’s the system and Capela. To beat the warriors you need to slow the game down by getting to the post and going for two. Getting hustle rebounds off two point scoring. And include a mid range game plan. Capela needs to be more dominant in the post with rebounding and post scoring. He’s too tall not to have that skill set. The rockets did a lot of post play possessions in game 3 despite shooting 50 3s. The 3 ball should only be used to capitalize a lead or if it’s the only play because the shot clock is almost at zero. If they’re up 10 let it fly . If not slow the game down by scoring in the paint and drawing fouls. The warriors had no real rim protection which is where the warriors missed the opportunity to capitalize

    Steph Curry continue never shows up in the playoffs
    win or die games Oklahoma Game 7 2016 36-5-8 lesser version than himself
    Rockets Game 7 2018 27-9-10 lesser version than himself dropping clutch 3s at 3rd quarter (yes 3rd quarter can already be clutch if it's game 7 and score ties)
    Rockets Game 6 2019 33points in 2nd half lesser version than himself
    I mean yes KD won FMVP in 4-0 and 4-1 series, but you know what, if it comes to game 7 he will pass the ball, not shoot, and he will pass to Steph

    SAS is right. Harden is part of it, but D'Antoni is an even bigger part of the problem.
    The team is built around one guy, so the defense will be built around one guy
    D'Antoni's system doesn't had mid-range shots, taking a great two, instead of a tough 3
    D'Antoni is not a leader, or a great coach. He is a systems manager. A foreman who cannot lead you to a title

    • @back2back379
      @back2back379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah, D'Antoni's system has all of those options, we saw it in Phoenix. It's just Harden chooses to not take any of the possible options. The coach puts a system in place that presents all kinds of options depending on what the facilitator chooses. Harden always chooses the same option, which is himself.

    • @InvestBetter.
      @InvestBetter. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@back2back379 Wrong, or else they would use those options. They've played over 00 games this season. In how many games are they taking good mid-range shots over 3s? Oh.....D'Antoni's system is take 3s first and second, and only take a two if you are forced to. That won't beat the best teams in basketball. that's why this D'Antoni's fault. the best teams know your flaws in your system and exploit them. That's what the warriors did to D'Antoni. He was outcoached.

    • @back2back379
      @back2back379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@InvestBetter. they don't use those options because Harden chooses not to. The options are there, as I said, because we saw them in Phoenix. Why is it that Phoenix was consistently at the top of the league in team assists/game, but Houston is bottom of the league despite having the same head coach for both teams? Because of HOW the offense is run, which all begins with the primary ball handler. Not to mention, Houston is at the bottom of the league in team passes/game.

    • @InvestBetter.
      @InvestBetter. 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@back2back379 Then again, that's coaching. You can't have it both ways. When they win, D'Antoni and Harden get credit, but when they lose only Harden gets the blame. You're saying he can't coach Harden? Based on what? Harden played this way for years. The facts don't back you up, unless D'Antoni isn't a coach at all, he's a system manager, like I said.

    • @back2back379
      @back2back379 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@InvestBetter. Yes, Harden's been playing this way for years because it's the only way he knows how to play. Yes, D'Antoni allows Harden to run his system in this way and yes, D'Antoni can't stop Harden from running his system the way he wants to, just like no one's been able to stop Westbrook from running excessive Isolations and pick and rolls and taking too many shots. The superstars usually have excessive power and control of franchises, while coaches can be fired at any given time, so they're forced to acquiesce to the superstars. Only 3 coaches in the league currently would be able to control that: Popovich, Carlisle, and Spoelstra.

    What do you think bout this: what if Ky and CP3 traded places?
    Ky is ball dominant so he fits in the Rocket’s system and with another star on the floor he can close. Ky can be a spot-up 3 pt shooter when Harden’s handling the rock and vice versa cuz they both good shooters.
    Rockets need a cold-blooded closer, and as long as Harden keeps the game close Ky can take it over late.
    Celtics needed a veteran leader who can facilitate the offense. A pass-first pg, and one of the best leaders in basketball currently in CP3 would’ve done wonders for the development of Tatum Brown and Rozier.
    Ainge isnt dumb enough to take CP3’s horrid contract but in a hypothetical scenario dont this move makes basketball sense
