My father who emigrated to Australia after the second world war, grew up i in this house featured at 10 Ardenlee Street. Very moving and sad to see this video and especially poignant to see the interior of the home. I visited the Street in 2004 shortly before it was demolished.

You have to wonder about the massive amount of money that the eviction process cost the police, the council, the courts and other public bodies. Surely it would just have been cheaper, easier and quicker to quietly pay her what she wanted for her home and have her move out happy rather than force her out and create a "them and us" stand-off. Very short-sighted.

A shameful abuse by the council who used every trick in the book to oust margaret and her family ,disgusting treatment of a person who purchased her home to live a happy life

As springburn engineers club members said: "the luftwaffe couldn't have done a better job destroying Glasgow - than Glasgow Council has done".

There,ll be no compulsory purchase at Balmoral Castle nor its 78.3 square mile garden that surrounds it. Imagine owning a garden & grounds thats more than 3 times the size of greater Glasgow.

I couldnae even cut through Baltic without mad bastards trying to rob me for my capri sun and my fkn shoelaces. That being said, this video was still devastating to watch. I knew some of that woman's family back when I lived in Brigton.

Back to how it was no facilities, lots of wasteland. They tore down facilities that where central just for show for one event and now its forgot about again.

I live just down the road from it and it’s very unfortunate as, as much the area has definitely improved into becoming the 3rd safest area and one invested into the most in Glasgow it is sad as what was this families house now lies and overgrown grassy unused car park

If you search “Esso petrol station dalmarnock road” and look to the right of the petrol station that empty grassy overgrown bushy unused car park is where that block of flats was

It was a terrible place to live. Sieges, murders, gang issues. Place also looked like a shit hole. Sorry but as a former resident in 90s best thing they did was demolish. However how the council treated Jaconelli was disgusting they should have gave her a new home in athletes village. Or better price than she was given.
