I knew that card was the complete set variation I had to go home and check though you're right it's the complete set variation Jabs got robbed on that deal
That's crazy you found that Polanco box! I also found the same box at my local lcs in the south hills area I sorted the autos and parallels And I took out the 1/1's and really low numbered cards he had almost complete rainbow of 2014 bowman chrome rookies. I'm happy to see the rest of the box made its way around!
Those booklets are something else....and I was thinking of some Polanco auctions before you mentioned it. Bryce and Stay Classy will be at shows every weekend except Mother's Day through 4th of July.
You make a great point. Prospecting (hunting for specific rookies) is SOOOOO tough in baseball. Much more difficult than other sports. When investing in younger players in football, basketball and even hockey, its much easier to key in on a few players in each season. With baseball, your odds are much worse as there are tooo many players to weed through....
Great vid. Card shows are the place to be to get good deals. I love the chase card packs in the envelopes for $5 or $10. Those are fun and you can find some goodies. I remember going to them Friday Night church card shows every 3 weeks when I was in H.S. I also remember going with Grandpap to Century III Mall in West Mifflin to check out some goods. Man, do I miss him and the shows, and Kaufmans. I'm in Detroit now, but I always talk junk about how Macy's isn't at good as Kauffman's was - I also miss Hill's & Ame's, but I heard one of them might come back, maybe.
Buy Low...sell High! Way back in 1990 I was ordering 50 and 100 card lots from dealers in Sports Collectors Digest. One of those players was KEVIN MAAS. I paid .12 cents per card for his rookie UD. When he went crazy hitting home runs his card jumped to $8 to $10. I unloaded about 75 of those cards at the time....mostly in trades as that's what the dealers wanted. They wanted to move cards and sets they were sitting on for the hot rookie card. I made even money trades. I still have some of the trades: Topps Joe Montana rookie, 1983 OPC hockey complete set, Mark Messier OPC rookie, and a bunch of other stuff.....all for about $6 worth of cards. PS I still have about 25 Kevin Maas rookies....what are they around 10 cents now????
February 19th card show in Milltown NJ! Had around 100 table last time, 700 or so people if you’re interested in checking that out. Great video as a always!
Pittsburgh, PA area Sports Card Shows - This Friday February 10th through Sunday February 12th Mall at Robinson (Mall Hours) - Saturday March 25th Sports Card Showcase at Printscape Arena at Southpointe (9am to 4pm) 150 Tables 8 Autograph Guests!!
That 32 memorabilia set for 450 is exactly why I would never buy a those boxes that are 1000s thing was probably a great hit at the time... and the stack for 80 feels very low and had to cost more than that to buy the packs to get them.
That's why I mainly focus on team collecting, I collect the angels but primarily the established players, the only guy I have who isn't established is 12 Jackson Holliday 1st bowman cards but that's cause if he kills it like H-rod when he hits the show. I got a chance at selling them for over $15 a piece upgraded when I only paid $2.50
Really enjoyed the Polanco collection. I'm a big fan of history, so it's cool to see all the cards of a former top prospect even if he didn't work out like Pirates fans hoped. I'm doing a similar PC for Nolan Gorman now. No idea if his career will work out, but I still enjoy collecting the cards of my favorite player, and he's not the biggest name, so they're relatively affordable.
Damn that’s insane! So many rookie polanco autos!! I feel for that guy though. Here he was thinking he was building up a collection that would send him into early retirement, and instead it put him into thousands of debt…. I nearly did that with Tatis Jr, but I managed to sell a lot of his really good cards I had right before the suspension. It really sucks I had a /25 orange rookie topps chrome auto of tatis that was worth probably $15k-$20k at one point I had bought for $2,200 back in early 2020, and bit the bullet and sold it to some rich dude on Instagram for $6,700. I still made massive profit, but if I would’ve sold it during the very peak of his hype back in mid 2021 I could’ve doubled that easily. Oh well, you live and you learn. Nobody can tell the future so just use good judgement people!
Toronto Blue Jays (2021) On August 31, 2021, Polanco signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. Polanco played in 24 games for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, hitting .374 with nine home runs and 24 RBIs. Polanco became a free agent following the season. Crazy after hitting .374 with 9 HRS & 24 RBI IN ONLY 24 GAMES that he never got picked back up any where in the MLB....
Think they said it best in Indiana Jones Last Crusade - “You must choose, but choose wisely. For as the true great rookie will bring you fortune, the false rookie will take it from you.”
That Polanco box is sweet! I've got an equally large collection of Starling Marte that I have continued to grow over the last year! Also I would love to attend the card show at Southpointe! I'm located in the city of Pittsburgh so I'll go ahead and send you an email!
Over the summer, I picked up a handful of Kyle Lewis PSA 10s. I knew it was a risk but being a lifelong Mariners fan the prices were cheap and even though he is gone now, he is part of our teams history.
That Polancobox is a dream , yet a nightmare. Dream for u! Not a big money item but for 100 bucks just sorting thru those and the ine touches is worth that price, imo. I'd be happy with that purchase!
You should write to Gregory Polanco through his team in Japan and see if he would be willing to buy this collection from you, he might get a real kick out of it!
I'm glad I collect as a hobby rather than as an investment. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and saw the horrors of once valuable cards taking severe nosedives in a matter of months, so you'll never see me "invest" in cards.
I thought Rougned Odor was going to be something, then he tried to crush homers and everything that made him great disappeared, along with my $. I didn’t go crazy but still a letdown
Reminds me of the 1990 Sosa shoebox I had full of RCs. I almost gave up on him until 1998 came along. Only time I made money off the hobby and glad I sold them all before 1998 was over.
I have a binder of around 250 baseball cards if you would want to buy them they are all in mint to near mint condition and I was wanting to sell them for 2$ a card
The torkelson is a complete set variation!
I knew that card was the complete set variation I had to go home and check though you're right it's the complete set variation Jabs got robbed on that deal
2:22. That’s a screw down 10 touch. 😂😂
That's crazy you found that Polanco box!

I get one touches for .86 cents on Amazon. And yes they are high quality.
Ommmggg you were in my hometown and the one time i didnt go you were there
Thanks for the support, Jabs. Make sure u stop by next show! Thanks again!!
Those booklets are something else....and I was thinking of some Polanco auctions before you mentioned it. Bryce and Stay Classy will be at shows every weekend except Mother's Day through 4th of July.
Thanks Erik. See you in Southpoint!
Do you have any of those tickets left? I live in Pittsburgh.

Glad you enjoyed the show hope to see you in Canonsburg
I'd say sell high on Wander Franco, Oneil Cruz, Spencer Trokelson, Julio Rodriguez, Jeremy Pena and Bobby Witt JR - WW
I gotta go on vacation in your neck of the woods Erik. I need to find some great deals.
i also bought that same aaron judge rookie card psa 9 for 25$ online!
That Poloanco at 11:25 is gorgeous - those black Pirates uniforms w/gold trim look great in that format!
Would love to see how you store everything
Yo i live in canonsburg Jabs
DC sports cards is a great place , that's a killer deal , nice.
Is there a good site to go-to to find card shows in my area
12:45 I’d like to buy this Indianapolis indians patch card
What's a one touch??
Nice video! BTW, I think one touches on Amazon are less than $2 each if you buy in bulk in case you’re looking! Thank you for the video! ✌️😎
That’s cool that you get card shows in your mall 👍
Great vid. Card shows are the place to be to get good deals. I love the chase card packs in the envelopes for $5 or $10. Those are fun and you can find some goodies. I remember going to them Friday Night church card shows every 3 weeks when I was in H.S.

I think the same way about those one touches
Dang I was near there. I wonder when the next card show is. Great pickups there.

@@brycebergen2676 thank you for the info. I’ll definitely be there this weekend then.

Great card show pickups Erik, thanks for sharing 👍
You were halfway through that collection until I figured out you were not talking about Plácido Polanco, who actually was a good player.
That's why I mainly focus on team collecting, I collect the angels but primarily the established players, the only guy I have who isn't established is 12 Jackson Holliday 1st bowman cards but that's cause if he kills it like H-rod when he hits the show. That Polanco box is why I stopped chasing rookie cards; too many. I'm a pure visual buyer these days.
I thought the exact same thing. Over saturation.
I have something similar as the Polanco collection but with Jesus Luzardo! 😂
I’m still hoping he does great things, obviously…for my own sake! 😂
Yeah that first stack guy made his money, oh well. Get'em next time 👍🏼
Really enjoyed the Polanco collection. I'm a big fan of history, so it's cool to see all the cards of a former top prospect even if he didn't work out like Pirates fans hoped.

Can I buy some polanco auto
I would have bought that 32 relic card too. So sick!!!!! Great stuff thank you for the videos!!!
Awesome booklet pickup! Nice cards! Enjoyed the video!
Jabs I’m a huge polanco fan and PC him have some personal connection of why I love him… any chance that collection is for sale?
If that Polanco box is still available, I’d buy it.
Always wondered what happened to Gregory and Alex Guerrero. Mlb hyped them up and gone quickly
Still did good on the collection, worth way more then $100
The wander line in this video aged well

😂😂😂 funny but true!
Polanco looked like the real deal coming up! I live in Indianapolis, so I saw many of his AAA games
Hey just letting you know that toroelson is actually just the complete set card as it says on the back
Hey Jabs! Great video! Could I get one of the show tickets please?
You got it! Send me an email with the subject card show tickets in it.
@@JabsFamily thank you so much! What is your email?
Love the pick up jabs remember 1 thing there is always a collector for each player
Love the Polanco box! one of my fav players when he was on the Pirates!! Great find!
That Polanco box is sweet! I've got an equally large collection of Starling Marte that I have continued to grow over the last year! Also I would love to attend the card show at Southpointe! I'm located in the city of Pittsburgh so I'll go ahead and send you an email!
Jabs. You should keep the Polanco cards especially you being a Pirates fan.
That booklet is awesome! Thanks again! 🙏
Gregory polanco was awesome!! I was a huge fan. He treated my kids at spring training like queens. Great man.
our one touches are under 3 a piece
Over the summer, I picked up a handful of Kyle Lewis PSA 10s. I knew it was a risk but being a lifelong Mariners fan the prices were cheap and even though he is gone now, he is part of our teams history.
Jabs, I can't make your auction but would love a pair of tickets to the Canonsburg show
Those booklets are so good
That Polancobox is a dream , yet a nightmare. Dream for u! Not a big money item but for 100 bucks just sorting thru those and the ine touches is worth that price, imo. I'd be happy with that purchase!

Are screwdowns not really bad for cards?
32 clippings of all we know could be jock strap clippings
I'm glad I collect as a hobby rather than as an investment. I grew up in the 80s and 90s and saw the horrors of once valuable cards taking severe nosedives in a matter of months, so you'll never see me "invest" in cards.
Yep. Scary how much people will spend on a player just to see the prices take a nose dive.
I thought Rougned Odor was going to be something, then he tried to crush homers and everything that made him great disappeared, along with my $. I didn’t go crazy but still a letdown
Outrageous Polanco collection
Fun watching this stuff, cracked me up seeing a bunch of Polanco cards,Jeter rookies were a steal!
Thanks for showing us the future shows I was really good friends with Tyler growing up. I’m gonna have to get him to sign my year book again.
There's card shows in Virginia and Raleigh North Carolina that are just as big as Showcase you should check them out.
What a great buy! Thanks for the video Jabs, always appreciated Sir . 🙏
Great score!!
love those cards is an Oniel Cruz rc good
Polanco is now 31 years old and like you said playing in Japan. Last year he hit .240 with 24 HR's and 58 RBI's.
Great Polanco box....
Except for the Polanco cards, I LOVE what you picked up! Those Ohtani rookies are NICE! 🇺🇸
Do you think Devers could possibly be a hall of fame player?
Can someone explain to me why someone pays PSA to grade a card worth $5? Im not understanding the math
That is a CRAZYYYYY relic
Thank you jabs I appreciate the support and as always I love the content
You can make your own 3Bros card packs out of nothing but Polanco cards.
Man I love booklets
Imagine having this in your collection 😁
Just found my collection of hundreds of tike Redman cards if you want to add to that sweet polanco collection. 😂
Great find jabs! Looking forward to watching you tomorrow
Hopefully my McClanahan collection ends up paying off
Wander Franco …. Man that guy hurt a lot of collectors wallets
That's a lot of Polanco. I wonder how much do these cost back then.
the age old story ---- buy what you like because you may get stuck with it
Reminds me of the 1990 Sosa shoebox I had full of RCs. I almost gave up on him until 1998 came along. Only time I made money off the hobby and glad I sold them all before 1998 was over.
I really like that Topps Chrome sepia rookie Auto let me know if you want to trade
Anytime you run onto a racing card box like that Polanco box you let me know, I will buy it!
I need ONE!
I paid way more, trying to find a short print, so 80 dollars I would have paid for that one card .
i would be interested in polanco i pc him
2020 Topps Flagship is the epitome of junk slabs. so many base rookies sent in
Hey Jabs! Would you be will to accept cards from me for an auction if so where do I send them!@
You do not believe how jealous I am as a Finn! So many icehockey cards, yet 0 baseball cards available. Fortunately there is internet
I have a binder of around 250 baseball cards if you would want to buy them they are all in mint to near mint condition and I was wanting to sell them for 2$ a card
he sold that to try and forget that misjudged investment
Gregory Polanco
