    Can somebody answer a question? I've heard it alluded to, but nothing definitive and it's bugging me.
    Walksnail Avatar and FatShark Dominator HD - are there any differences, besides color and inclusion of antennas with the Avatars? A certain Florida-based FPV store has them both for sale, $599 for the Walksnails and $480 for the FatSharks. That's a hell of a difference for antennas?!

    Just curious, why do you feel the SD slot location in goggle is bad? I never experienced any issues with that. The slot is obviously mounted to the main PCB, which seems preferable to a daughter board with regard to keeping the internals clean and less complicated.

    Its not the best in any category, but its price, decent visual quality and no dji? It rises to the top pretty quick.

    Walksnail / caddx sells their goggles in a combo with, for example, the axisflying c20 for a real good price : 700 USD.
    Considering the C20 alone costs 400 USD, the goggles are only 300 USD !

    hello. I am starting the project of writing a code to use an esp32-cam as an optical flow sensor. I am sending the data to the flight controller and inav recognizes them as valid (cx-of). The esp32-cam has good power and you could add a rangefinder right there and use it for position hold or to track down a target using opencv. my question is, is it better to communicate with the flight controller using the msp2 protocol or the message format that cx-of uses? thanks for answering.

  • @Sugalime3D_FPV

    micro SD card very important also because you need a lot of space when you want to record all of your flights a day...

    • @Sugalime3D_FPV
      @Sugalime3D_FPV ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Internal memory is also possible, but it is usually relatively small, like 8 - 32 GB. That is a joke. You can get around it if you have a tablet with you and move the data again and again in between... But a fat 256 GB SD card in it would be better...

    I have been quite impressed with the system, but haven't tested it on anything but a big cruiser. So far, it's mostly as you say. Very intuitive, tries to self-immolate, performs pretty well, and needs an SD card. The one thing I cannot compare is DJI performance as I've never tried their stuff. It certainly beats analog and HDZero in terms of penetration from what I've seen, blasting through entire houses without even a hint of concern of signal loss.

    Are you comparing 25mbit mode to dji vista and v2 goggles? I imagine the difference is simply h265 vs h264. O3 used h265 which is a compression that gives you double the quality at the same bitrate or the same quality at half.

    Pawel, thanks for the video and details, I do agree with your final conclusion for someone starting in Digital FPV, however, I think you mentioned a few things that are a little unfounded. I believe you are the only person I have heard say that they notice a huge difference between DJI 25mB and 50mB -- maybe this is related to the output power you use, but most can not tell the difference. Also, if you EVER fly with other people -- nobody should be using 50mB as it uses half of the entire 5.8Ghz frequency range.
    Another note, you mentioned that nobody should ever design the goggles with the SD slot in the middle of the goggles but you don't say why. Why? I never took issue with it and honestly don't know why you would say that. Anyway, thanks for the great review and appreciate all you give to this hobby! Thanks!

    It's nice to see manufacturers sending their products to INAV developers, so that their products can be well tested. Current FPV situation is overly Betaflight-centric. Some people prefer INAV/KISS/Emu/Ardu to Betaflight.

      And have some sex with tuning PIDs. I also flying INAV and in compare with BF it has no tutorials for tuning like BF has from Chriss Rosser and other pilots. Some adjustements in INAV not so obvious such as tuning Dterm - I can change it from 25 to 35 without visible effect in flying or in PIDTollBox for my 7inch. And bugssssss, a lot of them, pleny of them. From the last I can mention one , but it rather not bug but badly written code in INAV6.0, for the BMI270 was implemented OSR4 mode but it's not working well, pretty flyable but it's not what we have in BF, maybe something missed when code was ported. For the real bug I can describe behaviour on MtekH7 Slim FC - when black box turned on GPS packets can be missed. I see this bug only on Matek H7 slim, Kakute H7 V1 and V2 working well. And yes ... wher bidirectional DSHOT? Where genuine rpm filter?

    Good review. I just love how they've survived the brutal reception they got at first and are now a serious choice for digital video. I disagree about the beginner part though. I've been doing long range fixed wing flying for 6 years now and it's really the ONLY choice for me: it looks better than analogue and HDZero, and goes further than DJI.

      Walksnail for image quality, hdzero for fixed latency is what it comes down to. Walksnail is phasing out the use of hdzero in my quads and planes as the latency is less important to me vs image quality.
