I know why it happens (slopes are a pain in the butt when it comes to platformers, like many devs team cherry decided they weren't worth the trouble to design around, and a consequence is that scripts don't account for the way they redirect momentum) But context or not that doesn't make Zote sliding back and forth at sonic speed any less hilarious
what we can learn from this: gruz mother is canonically a filthy spawn camper, gorb is a brilliant engineer, soul warrior is a combo master, lost kin can moonwalk, ogrim can do the cha-cha slide, and sly's a gardener.

Unless you count reducing the area, tightening your movement windows, reducing your attack windows and reducing your dodge windows "limiting your options", cause like, that and increasing damage dealt is how you're supposed to add difficulty in the first place. Those are the exact things that make the difference between easy and hard bosses, pretty much universally. Most additions were more like: 1. Reducing the area you can move in, requiring you to pull off tighter movement to escape attacks. 2. Putting traps in areas you're supposed to move in, so that you need to multitask on the boss and avoiding the traps. 3. Funny gimmick Pretty much all of the traps added were clearly added with thought to the boss that you're actually fighting. Sly, a great boss focused around avoiding fast but fair attacks? Reduce the arena area so that the player needs to more thoroughly master his attacks through tight movements. No particular gimmicks necessary at the core fight. Then add a little extra horizontal room but with sawblades, so that the player can choose to expand their playable if they want but at higher risk. False knight, who you're supposed to dash under constantly? Make the dash tighter by adding a void gate thing. Also prevents people from killing this otherwise very quick-to-die boss too fast by walling him off from some attacks. Grub mother, where you have to slightly sidestep her slow charge attacks? Force people to sidestep in greater increments and add on-off traps that force you to pay more attention during your sidestepping. Radiance, where the second stage is all about jumping up to Radiance at the top quickly? Make it outright parkour. And it was also largely balanced around the difficulty of the boss. Pretty much all the batshit crazy differences were put on the easiest bosses. Sure, there were absolutely flaws: Uumuu in general, Markoth being bugged, a lot of fights having unavoidable respawn damage (fortunately fixed in Galien's fight), Radiance crystals, etc. However, there was clearly a lot of thought put into most aspects of the mod and I think the mod creator deserves way more credit than people here give them.
The amount of calm you have is just crazy. I thought a good player could never make so many mistakes, but I feel like Hollow Knight is one of those games you can never master and become perfectly in control bc no one can react perfectly in these scenarios with the precise inputs required.
I think I finally understand why the Hollow Knight fandom likes watching this ridiculous challenge videos. It makes us feel better about all the times we died to bosses. We love the solidarity of our suffering.

It looks like it only happened once for you, but it's an important thing that goes for all Godhome DecorationMaster arenas with conveyor belts: if you're touching a conveyor belt and win/lose a fight (so essentially if you're on one as the screen is fading to white), once you're out of the arena, every floor will be treated as if it's a conveyor until you save and quit or win/lose a fight again (as soon as you aren't on a conveyor belt when the fight ends). To prevent it from happening in the first place you either gotta try and jump as high as you can or do the simpler option: just wall jump on any arena with walls, even if it has spikes or buzzsaws or whatever in it, because hazards won't hurt you just as the fight's ending, meaning you can simply go through them no problem in order to circumvent the glitch. Since mods are gonna be updated for 1.5 when it comes out, I pointed out to Team Cherry the glitch in which getting hit by hazards while you're invulnerable doesn't grant you any more i-frames (thus why bosses can hit you right as you're respawning), which in the base game is only prominent with No Eyes's Ascended arena, but I really don't think it's gonna be fixed. In other news, I have some um, insider info, that an... uhh, anonymous benefactor! Yeah! Is going to add Zote Walls (yes), mainly on the ground, to mitigate a few issues, and possibly a couple other things, but noot sure on that part.

As someone who has beaten almost all of the main game with the exceptions of, anything past the first level of the Colosseum of Fools (I don’t remember if I ever beat the second level), and the final boss (That big white bug is too hard) this is absolute insanity. I’m kinda beginning to think that either there were a lot of things in the DLC areas I didn’t know how to get to, or I missed way more in the main game than I thought I did.
Personally, I think it's really unfair that only Skurry gets hurt by the obstacles, yet the bosses are perfectly fine despite going straight through them.
Ya, there's a line between "ridiculously hard" and "bad design presented as difficulty" and I think "guaranteed damage upon entering a room" is a perfect example of the latter.

If I may, I think I have a possible reason the right wall of Markoth was removed, but only the right. At least on the switch version I play on, the right wall is significantly safer than the left. That's because his nails can spawn beyond the left wall where they are unseen, coming out from nowhere. The same however is not true of the right wall, nails will never spawn beyond the right wall. Therefore, you can hug the right wall and no nails will come out from behind you where you can't see. It's possible the creator knew of this, and instead of figuring out how to fix it by changing the fight or spawning area of the nails, they just decided to remove the wall entirely. That or this is something only on the switch version and I'm crazy.

As someone who has beaten almost all of the main game with the exceptions of, anything past the first level of the Colosseum of Fools (I don’t remember if I ever beat the second level), and the final boss (That big white bug is too hard) this is absolute insanity. I’m kinda beginning to think that either there were a lot of things in the DLC areas I didn’t know how to get to, or I missed way more in the main game than I thought I did.

If I may, I think I have a possible reason the right wall of Markoth was removed, but only the right. At least on the switch version I play on, the right wall is significantly safer than the left. That's because his nails can spawn beyond the left wall where they are unseen, coming out from nowhere.
The same however is not true of the right wall, nails will never spawn beyond the right wall. Therefore, you can hug the right wall and no nails will come out from behind you where you can't see.
It's possible the creator knew of this, and instead of figuring out how to fix it by changing the fight or spawning area of the nails, they just decided to remove the wall entirely.
That or this is something only on the switch version and I'm crazy.
