  • When eating Pineapples the Pineapple also takes a bite at us. Pineapples contain a Cocktail of Enzymes that dissolve Proteins. These Enzymes are so aggressive that they can be used to tenderise meat. Let's see under the microscope how germs and microbes handle the exposure to flesh eating pineapple enzymes!

What would you say is the mechanism of this 'shrinking' effect? proteolysis of the cytoskeleton once the enzyme gets inside? Initially I thought it destroys membrane structural proteins, but she shrinking seems to be symmetric, like if the enzyme diffused through concentration gradient once inside the cell.

I also was wondering. I would like to see what happens if you put them in a salt water solution. It almost seemed like they were drying down like you might expect from osmosis.

Can the natural pineapple juice go bad? And if so, how?

I think that interactions of this enzymes with meat grain world look even more interesting under microscope
