Good morning. Years ago my husband and I had to do a clean out of an apartment. Their children went through everything taking only things of what they thought had "cash value". Leaving behind the love letters, old family pictures, souvenirs from NY worlds fair and the couples id cards , ration cards and few other things like that. We couldn't throw them away. Today we still have all that stuff today and it's been 20 plus years. Thanks for sharing.😊
I've got hoards and hoards of old paper items like that boxed away. I would be at sales and know that if I don't take them, they'll be thrown away and lost forever. And I'm not good at letting that happen. I'm glad you rescued them!
The collection reminds me so much of my grandmothers' and mother's jewelry; my sisters and I really need to go through it and decide what to do with everything.
Also Brian, I would take the Maltese cross set to a jeweler because 100% silver is too soft to make into jewelry. That is why an alloy is added to give it strength and durability. ❤
I've always sold it all on eBay. I would list on other platforms, too, but I just haven't had the time with the volume of cool vintage stuff that I buy. Where do you sell yours?
You would need to leave your contact information here for me to message you directly, as I'm not aware of any other way to make contact through TH-cam.
How sad that they got rid of the dog tags. Incredibly disrespectful to their relative. If that Cameo is a true pink shell cameo they are worth a lot of money. That gold chain is called Herringbone style.
Yeah, I was really disappointed that nobody wanted them. I tried to talk them into keeping them. They're such an amazing part of that family's history. I cherish all of the old documents, etc, from my family's past.
Hello, I watched your episode and am interested in the rosaries. These are Sacred blessed objects used for prayer. Would you be willing to part with them? Thanks, Rita

Pink Cameos are worth a lot & SO beautiful!
Nice find👍
Thanks! It was a fun pick!

Keep it all, of course!
A cameo is carved sea shell- not coral! Just letting you know for future reference…
A cameo can be carved into a lot of different things, not just seashells. It's the art of a carving in relief on an object.
@@TheresTreasureEverywhereBrian, yes there are even plastic and resin cameos, however, REAL cameos are carved from shell. ❤

Changed my mind I think the cameo is glass however I can't tell totally just on a video. I deal in antique jewellery.
Yeah, the more I looked at it, the more I think it's glass, too.
Cameo pink glass gold fill at best
The Cameo could be Angel Skin Coral
I've never heard of that kind of coral. Off to the googles to do some research and educate myself!
Put it up to the light to see if the light shines through it and then you’ll see if it’s real carved shell
Thanks for the tip. Best I can tell is that it is glass. But I still think it's awesome!
Where do you sell your treasures?

Very sad. He kept it all this time as it was important to him, they aren't interested. It should have been buried with him.
Don’t understand how anyone could get rid of dog tags and the like! How disrespectful 😮
I'm with you! Items like this from my family's history I really cherish and can't imagine ever selling them!
