I bought this series for our family to watch. It cost peanuts to buy yet its worth can't be measured in money terms. We shall always be grateful to the Schaeffer family. God be praised. Thankful for Jesus and his sacrifice for sinners upon the cross of Calvary.
Through Schaeffer I understood the concept of worldviews and how Christianity is counter-cultural. Our beliefs determine our behavior.
I know my father read the book because he mentioned it and he never mentioned anything he read but I often wondered about, How Should We Then Live but I never ran into the book, so I am greatful for the posting. God bless, I will listen again
Schaeffer was a breath of fresh air to me as a young believer at university . Our lives , are indeed , apart from our passions determined by our world view whatever that may be, whether religious or non religious. Our passions often get the best of us but truly man needs a rational bases for tempering his/ her desires esp when they get out of control. Understanding and critiquing a particular world view is man's deepest need today . Man is unable to parachute into any situation in a neutral, apolitical, or ahistorical position . The Creator made the hardware, so all peoples at this level are equal. Indeed however, it is man that uploads the software via culture, belief system , family ethos etc . It is the " SOFTWARE" we upload into our kids that sets people apart. I see it all the time. We are all bound to our intersubjective space , even determined largely by it if we do not bother to question it. Not easy to do as all cultures by nature are conservative.
This series is amazing and everyone NEEDS to see it!

thanks so much for posting this. I bought this on vhs and lent it to someone. history, philosophy, science, art,and culture through the lens of the Bible taught by one of Christianity's true intellectuals.
This is an outstanding course, I took it in college back in 1980.
So so good and so profound for where we all find ourselves this very day in the world.

Sadly, there is no real scarcity of food in the world. It is all about distribution, & that's all about politics. Frances Moore-Lappe pointed this out, w/documentation, many decades ago. But this is not a reading culture.
Absolutely sad isn’t it. Even going so far as destroying food to raise prices. All the while we can ship and sell weapons of war to any place on the planet. Yet we cannot manage to ship our surplus to impoverished peoples around the globe.
