Unfortunately there are millions of lukewarm Christians who Jesus says He will spit from His mouth (in Revelation)... we should gather with saints from time to time but all we need is to have a close intimate relationship with Jesus through prayer and studying His word. I was pretty messed up, taking drugs, getting drunk, self harming myself, bitter to those who did harm to me, held on to much of the past and not letting go until one day I picked the bible up and started reading it. I found that everything you read in the bible it shows you how to live a better and happier life. It did wonders to me. Our Jesus Christ is the way and is the light. I love Jesus, don't really like much of the Bible, and am a natural skeptic who has felt a draw towards Jesus but does not like how many conduct themselves in the church. I think die hard Christians who have been religious often forget that there are so many just trying to make sense of life and wanting signs to show they are on the right path. I just watched a video where a Christian was saying he will offend non-believers if it helps them get into heaven. The problem I see is fundamentally that people use religion as ego-fuel much of the time. Obviously not all Christians but the showy aspect some engage with is very antithetical to what I feel resonates with me. Give me nature, time alone with animals and reaching out in my own way. I also think proselytizing is also very problematic, as so many have been wounded by the church. There are like these two extremes I feel when it comes to Christians....many are very loving and kind, and many are very judgmental and cruel and only superficially loving and kind. I totally get why skeptics are often wary. I wish that no matter what we could all remember we are all little humans in a vast universe, we all have dealt with likely some form of trauma, and every living creature wants to feel loved, acknowledged and respected. If we just park our ego, quietly pray but show consistently a lack of judgment and a lack of shunning....the world could be so beautiful. But I see a lot of the opposite from those who profess to be all about love, sometimes.

I have been struggling recently with my relationship with Christ and fell into new age practices. The truth is, you have to love the church. In Revelation 22 it talks about Christ returning for His bride. His bride being the church full of all believers. Christ died for his bride and will return for it. Yes I will admit that most accusations against the church are fair and sometimes we deserve them but the church is Jesus' bride. One person can help change that. I can guarantee you that if you were to talk bad against your friends wife you wouldn't be very good friends.

If people actually read the Bible they would know Jesus warns against religion because religions only preach their own doctrine and, if you don't do what they say, then they say you're going to hell. They do not preach the Word of GOD.

I watched this video 5 years ago after clicking on it in somebody’s Instagram bio. I didn’t know Jesus and did not have any Christians in my life, but after watching this I watched another video of Jefferson sharing the gospel at a youth conference and I accepted Jesus right there in my bedroom that night and then started following Jesus with my whole life! Growing up my family attended the Catholic Church and when as I grew I began to question God. In high school I found this video and I loved it, but it didn’t resonate with me. I became an adult and fell into a deep darkness and the night I wanted to end my life, God came down to me. It felt like He took all the bricks that were placed on my chest and in a few minutes of silence I heard Him speak to me. I laid there for what seemed like hours. I now know why I loved this video. I’m so happy and grateful that God gave me enough life to get to know Him on a much deeper level. Religion doesn’t resonate with me, but Jesus does. ❤️

I like Buddhism, but I don’t identify with either. Grew up with religion. I think it’s important to know you’re put on this earth to learn about your soul to make peace and grow by learning to have compassion towards yourself. Something even religion won’t tell you, but the comfort of god. It’s really powerful. Life is a series of growing with pain and learning to get rid of what never belonged to you in the first place. Either way, I hope you find inner peace. You are doing just fine on your path.

When someone asked Jesus what religion he should be, Jesus simply said, take care of the widows and the orphans. He called us to Love. It was the religious leaders who arrested and murdered Jesus. If you judge single Mothers in a crisis pregnancy, you judge Mary who was pregnant out of wedlock. Having Jesus was a CRIME in her culture. If you judge poverty and homelessness, you judge Jesus. My relationship with religion is so broken from all the immoral values I have grown up with as a kid and it hurts to say that I've grown a resentment for Jesus and God because of it. I remember hysterically crying watching this as a 7 year old when it first came out out. Feeling so many emotions I could not put into words. So many things I felt after my mom had me (not sent me but I went with friend after school) to church for the first time. I felt rejected at church my first time. At SEVEN YEARS OLD. I felt ashamed even as bisexual girl who’s mostly attracted to men. The “religious” narrative was a man and a women. As a child I knew nothing different but what I had pictured in my brain. After church it was clear that was not “normal” at ALL. and it was very clear to my father and he played this video to me to show that the Bible is what you make of it. It is not to make you. It’s a guideline. NOT a rule book. At 19 years old listening I have the same reaction. Although my dad’s not in my life and God knows that, I pray that my dad knows he leaded me heavily through my relationship with god✝️

That's actually a false statement. I used to love this video and quoted it often but after careful study of scripture all these years later I find it incorrect. The CHURCH. Christ's church is for Jesus's sheep not the goats. Correct it is not a museum for good people this line is very reminiscent of seeker friendly churches. And that is heresy. The church is for the believer not the unbeliever. The believers are to go out into the world and bring the lost sheep to the flock. It is also not a hospital. I watched this video 10 years ago when my faith is shaken and this video pops up to me out of nowhere. Went through my ups and downs of faith. Had a life crisis around 2015, almost became an atheist until God turned my life around by answering my prayer when I thought my life is just over. I finally learnt that I can be happy, that life is really a blessing not a curse. I found grace. But it wasn't happily ever after since then. Life has been tough, the ups and downs did not stop. Struggle is always around the corner. But the difference is, I know my God is alive and I know I want to be faithful to and for my God. Today I watch this video as a reminder of how far I've come in my faith. "church is not a musuem of good people, but a hospital for the broken" the message sticks. Jeff's other video about "Wilderness, Depression, & Stars in the Night" also sticks. I am truly thankful for his videos. Truly has been a blessing. I hope others also found this video as a blessing. This video hits me at my core, brought tears to my eyes. Raised in the southern bible belt, religion was shoved down my throat as a child and now as an adult I am finally finding/building my relationship with God.

As a Buddhist, I don't believe in God or Jesus. But I respect people that do. People like me have no right to say Christian people are very judgy, because that is a harsh judgement in and of itself. I respect that people have different belief systems, I may not personally believe these things but that has never stopped me from loving someone who does. Everyone should respect that everyone has a right to believe what they want, it's when we start forcing our thoughts on to someone else, that we have an issue.

This is my testimonial something that y’all never heard of in church testimonials: I grew up in a religious household , I got depression, reached out to them and to the this person in the church was supposed to be the leader for the youth but no one cared. I’m still in this dark times where everyone I grew up in turned away on me. Never I heard a testimonial about that. During those times, all I had was the this little hope that everything is going to get better. At the end, God made me realize it’s not about religion. Loving him is not about being religious, reading bible and going to church. God taught me a completely different way somethjng that I never heard of in church testimonials and I broke down crying. Because religion did not allow me to learn who he really is. It completely changed me not to the church I used to wanted.

@ARIEL MITCHELL Of course Christianity isn’t just a rule book, after accepting Jesus into your life you have to make changes to your life where they are needed. Also yes you can talk to God whenever you want to because He is always listening to you. He hears your thoughts and loves to hear your prayers. It’s important to make a habit of prayer so that it’s not just you asking for things but also thanking Him for the things He has done for you. Even just talking to Him about random things throughout your day is great too. If you don’t go to church already you should talk to a pastor more in depth to this.

I’ve seen this video before years ago and it truly spoke to me. I was raised catholic. Need I say more. It took me a long time to realize that I am a Christian not a Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran etc. Since I started spending time with God alone and reading scripture I feel closer to God through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I was pretty messed up, taking drugs, getting drunk, self harming myself, bitter to those who did harm to me, held on to much of the past and not letting go until one day I picked the bible up and started reading it. I found that everything you read in the bible it shows you how to live a better and happier life. It did wonders to me. Our Jesus Christ is the way and is the light. I love Jesus, don't really like much of the Bible, and am a natural skeptic who has felt a draw towards Jesus but does not like how many conduct themselves in the church.
I think die hard Christians who have been religious often forget that there are so many just trying to make sense of life and wanting signs to show they are on the right path. I just watched a video where a Christian was saying he will offend non-believers if it helps them get into heaven.
The problem I see is fundamentally that people use religion as ego-fuel much of the time. Obviously not all Christians but the showy aspect some engage with is very antithetical to what I feel resonates with me. Give me nature, time alone with animals and reaching out in my own way. I also think proselytizing is also very problematic, as so many have been wounded by the church.
There are like these two extremes I feel when it comes to Christians....many are very loving and kind, and many are very judgmental and cruel and only superficially loving and kind.
I totally get why skeptics are often wary.
I wish that no matter what we could all remember we are all little humans in a vast universe, we all have dealt with likely some form of trauma, and every living creature wants to feel loved, acknowledged and respected.
If we just park our ego, quietly pray but show consistently a lack of judgment and a lack of shunning....the world could be so beautiful.
But I see a lot of the opposite from those who profess to be all about love, sometimes.

I say this so often and it’s really that simple. Jesus is love. If you look at everything you’ve been taught and change it. Instead looking at it through the eyes of love, everything changes. It’s hard for people to take the religion that has been drilled in their head for their lifetime and simplify it to just love. But it’s not JUST love. It’s huge. Profound. Endless. Love. Growing up my family attended the Catholic Church and when as I grew I began to question God. In high school I found this video and I loved it, but it didn’t resonate with me. I became an adult and fell into a deep darkness and the night I wanted to end my life, God came down to me. It felt like He took all the bricks that were placed on my chest and in a few minutes of silence I heard Him speak to me. I laid there for what seemed like hours. I now know why I loved this video. I’m so happy and grateful that God gave me enough life to get to know Him on a much deeper level. Religion doesn’t resonate with me, but Jesus does. ❤️

That’s why it’s good to give those feelings to God and have an honest conversation with him.
I remember hysterically crying watching this as a 7 year old when it first came out out. Feeling so many emotions I could not put into words. So many things I felt after my mom had me (not sent me but I went with friend after school) to church for the first time. I felt rejected at church my first time. At SEVEN YEARS OLD. I felt ashamed even as bisexual girl who’s mostly attracted to men. The “religious” narrative was a man and a women. As a child I knew nothing different but what I had pictured in my brain. After church it was clear that was not “normal” at ALL. and it was very clear to my father and he played this video to me to show that the Bible is what you make of it. It is not to make you. It’s a guideline. NOT a rule book. At 19 years old listening I have the same reaction. Although my dad’s not in my life and God knows that, I pray that my dad knows he leaded me heavily through my relationship with god✝️

That's actually a false statement. I used to love this video and quoted it often but after careful study of scripture all these years later I find it incorrect. The CHURCH. Christ's church is for Jesus's sheep not the goats. Correct it is not a museum for good people this line is very reminiscent of seeker friendly churches. And that is heresy. The church is for the believer not the unbeliever. The believers are to go out into the world and bring the lost sheep to the flock. It is also not a hospital. "Its not a museum for the good people, its a hospital for the broken" such a good saying for how churches should be. We dont get to heaven because of our good deeds, we get to heaven by accepting that we are broken and evil and that we need jesus to make us whole.
Very true some people believe that their good works will take them to heaven.
To free yourself from hell is the truth of the only MAN GOD accepted. Your book of sins would never allow you into Heaven, for nothing that defiles shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven!. Yet after all you done the promised gift of your belief in GOD'S only begotten SON He will remove your corrupt book of life the sinful life we all have led and replace it with HIS PERFECT BOOK!. Without Him doing that you will not make it. Yet there is a clause. If your heart is false so shall your judgement be and hellbound all will be. Phoney Christian's never get past the Love of the truth....unless they pass the test.

I watched this video 10 years ago when my faith is shaken and this video pops up to me out of nowhere. Went through my ups and downs of faith. Had a life crisis around 2015, almost became an atheist until God turned my life around by answering my prayer when I thought my life is just over. I finally learnt that I can be happy, that life is really a blessing not a curse. I found grace. But it wasn't happily ever after since then. Life has been tough, the ups and downs did not stop. Struggle is always around the corner. But the difference is, I know my God is alive and I know I want to be faithful to and for my God.
Today I watch this video as a reminder of how far I've come in my faith. "church is not a musuem of good people, but a hospital for the broken" the message sticks. Jeff's other video about "Wilderness, Depression, & Stars in the Night" also sticks. I am truly thankful for his videos. Truly has been a blessing. I hope others also found this video as a blessing.

This video hits me at my core, brought tears to my eyes. Raised in the southern bible belt, religion was shoved down my throat as a child and now as an adult I am finally finding/building my relationship with God.
If you actually listen to what he says with an open mind, it's absolutely amazing. Just put away all the hate for a moment and try to use your brain to listen and understand what he's trying to get across.
As a Buddhist, I don't believe in God or Jesus. But I respect people that do. People like me have no right to say Christian people are very judgy, because that is a harsh judgement in and of itself. I respect that people have different belief systems, I may not personally believe these things but that has never stopped me from loving someone who does. This is my testimonial something that y’all never heard of in church testimonials:
I grew up in a religious household , I got depression, reached out to them and to the this person in the church was supposed to be the leader for the youth but no one cared. I’m still in this dark times where everyone I grew up in turned away on me.
Never I heard a testimonial about that.
During those times, all I had was the this little hope that everything is going to get better.
At the end, God made me realize it’s not about religion. Loving him is not about being religious, reading bible and going to church. God taught me a completely different way somethjng that I never heard of in church testimonials and I broke down crying. Because religion did not allow me to learn who he really is. It completely changed me not to the church I used to wanted.

@ARIEL MITCHELL Of course Christianity isn’t just a rule book, after accepting Jesus into your life you have to make changes to your life where they are needed. Also yes you can talk to God whenever you want to because He is always listening to you. He hears your thoughts and loves to hear your prayers. It’s important to make a habit of prayer so that it’s not just you asking for things but also thanking Him for the things He has done for you. Even just talking to Him about random things throughout your day is great too. If you don’t go to church already you should talk to a pastor more in depth to this.

I’ve seen this video before years ago and it truly spoke to me. I was raised catholic. Need I say more. It took me a long time to realize that I am a Christian not a Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran etc. Since I started spending time with God alone and reading scripture I feel closer to God through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit teaches me and protects me. I will never give that up for a building.

+KillJoy You can worship someone and not have a relationship with them. Jesus wants the relationship more then worship, because when you have a relationship with him, you want to worship him. It's not just something you HAVE to do like religion would say like, "oh you have to do this to be saved"

I bet this video has changed people's lives. When he says that Jesus looked down on him and said he wants this man, you know this is why. He just spread God's word in such a beautiful life changing way and so he's probably saved many souls with just this video alone.
I really hope not. This video speaks the ideals of the virus that is destroying Christianity.
