    Another company making a similar product: amzn.to/35QqUBR
    Mixing Bucket: amzn.to/302lqBF
    Polymeric sand: amzn.to/3jOHPej (not shown, can be used in the joints to lock the pattern)
    Due to requests, I am now including links to products when possible. These links are provided for reference, no company or individual paid to be in this video. Depending on the vendor, a small commission might be paid and will be used to support this channel.
    This person has the system down: • Mortar paving stones

    IMPORTANT NOTE, plan ahead. If possible have a starting and ending spot that fits the Walkmaker dimensions. You can custom cut and form smaller areas, but it is more complicated and turns a simple project into a more serious endeavor.
    We will post a new video in a couple of months that shows more options and details.
    You can add texture through brooms, brushes rollers, fabric, stamps...
    After the walk has dried, you can add sand for aesthetic reasons, but you can also get polymeric sand and lock the sidewalk joints. You can get this kind of sand from the Amazon or big box stores. Here are examples: amzn.to/38kAkHg & low.es/2LiyprM I have no experience with this particular product, it's just to help you get started in your search.
    The Quikrete Walkmaker takes only minutes to complete a 2’X 2’ section. A do-it-yourself delight. No special skills required. Just fill the mold with concrete, smooth the surface and remove the mold.
    Install a walk or a patio that resembles Basket Weave Brick for the price of a few bags of concrete.
    The Walk Maker not only offers Basket Weave Brick designs, but also stone and tile patterns as well..
    The addition of coloring will dramatically enhance any Walk Maker project. Mix the liquid color with water before adding it to the dry concrete mix. A variety of surface textures may be obtained by experimenting with different finishing techniques; i.e. a metal trowel will give you a smooth finish, a wooden trowel will make a rougher surface and a brushed surface will add texture and expose more aggregate.

    Hello Micheal I started my walkway with the cobble stones and my pattern took 80 lbs and then some I got 4 patterns with 3 bags of Pro-line crack resistance concrete. I did my walkway and patio for as little as $200 DIY give a take the weather overall I finished it within 3 weeks and this is my first time doing masonry work and it was fun. Thank you

    Wow, do you have to put some kind of mortar or filler in between the bricks?

  • @ms37348
    @ms37348 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    I see a couple issues with this. You need to throw gravel or sand and level of before you mold because those stamping molds obviously form gaps between the “bricks”. Unless you gravel them they will be loose and come off easy or break since you can’t hold to just mud underneath . Also weeds (which you still had growing under before you started will be growing all from winthjng the concrete.

    a much cheaper alternative to a color additive, if you desire a red or terra cotta, is powdered red iron oxide. i have used it, with very nice results, for a fraction of the cost of these color additives

    • @59trader43

    • @Helterskelter4
      @Helterskelter4 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is very true. The iron oxide powders are so much cheaper and can adjust to make any desired tint you want. I use black oxide a lot to make grey bricks and pavers and use less than half of what they say to make black ones so with making grey ones the powder goes more than twice as far. I buy 1kg of it at a time and costs me $10. I get about 100 grey 9x4.5x3 inch bricks out of it.
