At the end of the video Jon says that if you don't know the answer to a math problem just give 12 as the answer cuz 12 is the most popular answer for math problems
Welp, he has one now. I think I would've preferred Kaepernick to Newton, given how few interceptions Kaep gives up and how well that would work with the Patriots, but we'll see how it pans out.
Except for the ones that directly showed Kaepernick was better than Luck and any other then-active quarterback, such as at: 4:08 4:13 5:10 Kaep fares a little worse in the graph at 5:40, but still better than that guy and that guy and...
@Ben Schocket-Greene, I don't think pointing out that Luck retired of his own free will is a criticism of Luck. He just belongs in a different category. He's a gray dot like Locker and Orton, albeit an objectively superior gray dot. If Luck decided he wanted to play again there would be 15, probably 20 teams that would take him in a heartbeat. Kaepernick wanted to sign and nobody signed him.
Real talk that 12 trick actually did help me out the one time I tried it. I’m 1/1, so it works 100% of the time. I have an exam soon and I will be putting 12 for every answer thank u Jon
Jon: This guy. Me: well maybe it's just a smal- Jon: - and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy. Me: oh
Those guys minus Cam Newton are at best backups today. None of them are starting for the same team and most of them were declining veterans, backups, or rookies. Suprisingly people are ok with noncontroversial rookies and backups not being good, but don't want to sink starting money into a mediocre (This video should just admit he is mediocre as they pretty much prove that is what he was) QB that will have a negative impact on their profitability. You think Jameis WInston was running around asking teams for starting money?
@@TheBanshee90 yeah he was 28th in the list now if we do some quick math there are 32 teams and he was the 28th highest in NYP/PA. So 32 - 28 = 4 so (assuming that no backup is better) he is the 4th best. Now if I were an organization I would not hirer a controversial QB who in all likelihood is worse than my QB right now. He never made a probowl and never had an astounding season that would be worth the lose of profit to get him. He was an aging duel threat, who was injured and benched before he was cut.
of the QBs he was better than in 2016 that weren't rookies, Cam Newton is the only one that is a starting QB and he was cut from the team he was playing on... Of the QBs he was worse than You have Tyrod Taylor Tank Commander Carson Palmer and Eli Manning Declining Veterans who are retired and players Like Trevian Siemons or Alex Smith (Traded), Phillip Rivers (Cut), Andy Dalton (Cut), Ryan Tannehil (Cut)... So that tells me something about Kaep he wasn't that good. He was better than career backups and rookie QBs and a handful of QBs who had statistically bad years compared to their career.
For evidence that he would be a great backup you can just look to the guy with the same passer rating Andy Dalton. He will make a great backup for the Cowboys at least I think he will. Kaep just was an under average starter who could have been a great backup. But wholly honestlyI think he would have set back the 49ers. This is not due to him being bad but to Jimmy G being good-ish. Jimmy G fits the scheme the 49ers have like a hand in a glove and I think they really would have been worse off if they kept him. Kaep would have been a great backup like Andy Dalton
Jon isn't saying "Kap is out of the league because of his protests", he's saying "of all the arguments for why he isn't in the league, his stats aren't a good excuse". There's still plenty of arguments on both sides, he's just debunking one. EDIT: I randomly rewatched this video and saw that this throwaway comment I made when I was 20 got… some attention. Don’t really know why I thought Jon wasn’t saying “Kap is out of the league for protesting” cuz that was 100% the point. I must’ve just latched onto the stats part and ignored the bigger picture. Live and learn, that’s the lesson.
He also showed a running qb that was nowhere near Vick that is aging at 29 and was on a downward trend for 4 years and spiked a 90 for five games. So with his aging legs (running backs over 30 don’t make it too long) he’s probably getting worse and slower
if the green bay packers miss the playoffs, yes, they should feel really stupid Kaep wouldve kept Green Bay afloat until Rodgers came back. They still might make it, but all they needed was one more win in their previous games and they would be in a really good spot right now. They've got basically nothing out of the QB position since rodgers went down. Mediocre would've ensured them a wild card spot. instead it was about politics
NASA Ship 7 So you’re saying that all 32 franchises logically and independently came to the conclusion that the media coverage he would receive outweighs the benefits of hiring a decent qb like Kaep? In a year where injuries are rampant and franchises are scraping the bottom of the barrel for qbs like Brett hundley, and Brock Osweiler? There are other factors at play here...
This just proves my point about Kaepernick. My issue isn't that teams aren't signing him, it's that they're not honest about why. I would rather a team straight up say he's not worth the hassle then come up with some BS excuse like "he's not good enough", "he runs too much", or, the worst I've ever heard, "he's a vegan". I wish I was making that last one up.
I think he is good enough, but all the negative attention would be bad for business, and the nfl is a business. The NFL can't risk more division in the fan base because rating are down. I think if he didn't have to push his agenda, he would be in the nfl. It isn't about what he said, but what he did, and many people dislike his kneeling for the flag.
_"Somebody didn't watch the video..."_ ...which states he's NOT "the best in the world." He's a serviceable starter, with ENORMOUS baggage. He's not Brady, Rogers, or even Roethlisberger. No SANE team wants the financial hit that comes with hiring a SOCIAL PARIAH. If he were Johnny Unitas reincarnated, yeah, probably somebody bites.
bcubed72 but teams sign Greg Hardy (and other people w/ domestic violence records) or have taken the chance on Vick (I know the man earned his chance, but still a PR risk)
@@alex_lighthall No, the first "and this guy" was for the second guy in red not the first guy. The first guy was just "this guy", not "and this guy". Got it?

I came here from the LoadingReadyRun episode of Checkpoint. To be clear, I’ve been subscribed to both channels for years, but I came here today specifically because Beej shouted out Secret Base, this episode, and Jon Bois, and it made me happy.
Colin Kaepernick is definitely worth a roster spot in terms of talent. Teams and "fans" just say he doesn't have enough talent, even though he does. This video clearly proves that point. Thank you Jon.
He couldn't beat Blaine Gabbert for the starting job. That should tell you something about how good he really is. Stats don't prove everything, especially when you cherrypick certain stats that he happens to be good in, but leave out others.
Thatguy Man You have to actually watch I guy play. Stats can give you a good idea of how good they are, but they can be very deceiving. You don't know how much of his stats are compiled in garbage time at the end of games. You also don't know how many bad plays he gets away with due to his receivers bailing him out or defenders making bad plays. Many people also like to pick certain stats that make players look good, but leave out the ones that don't. There was a little bit of that in this video I also do agree with what you said before. Even if he is good, his style of play doesn't necessarily fit well with many teams.
You know who also deserved a shot...Tim Tebow...he is still 7-4 as a starter and 8-5 overall with a playoff win in his only season...when they replaced him with the same guy orton who quit a few years later..not saying he was great but he won games in college and the NFL ....come on NFL..they never gave him a chance and its ironic that the great Payton manning couldn't take them any farther for 2 whole years got beat humiliatingly in the super bowl and was the worst starter worse than Tebow and yet was did by the 1st defense to a super bowl ..nepotism...manning gets to ride his defense and ride off in to sunset and quit while Tebow was pushed out the door when he would have led a team to a title and tried to repeat no matter what cause of who he was
Bills- Rookie QB qho played well, Jets- rookie qb who played well, Dolphins-Ryan T(>Kaep)isnt the answer they will draft a rookie, Pats- yeah, no. Bengals- Dalton is better then Kaep but both suck, Browns- Great rookie year, Steelers- Big Ben, Ravens- haha no, Chiefs-..., Chargers- you gettin' my point, Raiders and Broncos have below average QB's.... who are both better then Kaep. Texans, Colts, Titans- no, no, no, Jags- maybe but would they stuck witj Bortles for to long, Foles, Wentz, Manning, Dak, and Smith>Kaep, Mitch, Cousins, Stafford, and Rodgers>Kaep, Jimmy G, Goff, Wilson, and Rosen(did great behind that oline)> Kaep. Ryan, Newton, Brees, Winston, Fitzmagic>Kaep. So Miami and Jacksonville are the only 2 options and one had a far better qb before the year.
@@RockinRobb01 You reply to a video that objectively displays at least 5 different dimensions where Kaepernick is a top 10 quarterback by just subjectively saying, on your own authority with no evidence at all, that basically every guy in the NFL is better than him. And you do this so shamelessly and confidently, as if there's no way anyone could possibly have a retort to your non-evidence personal claims in reply to a video of evidence with no personal claims.
@@cnking27 Colin Kaepernick never led a top 28 passing offense, he had a top 3 defense and running game and as soon as the all star team left so did his ability to win games, if a stat says that Kaep is beyter then 22 QB's then that stat is wrong.
@@RockinRobb01 of course. The problem is the stats. It doesn't matter that the stat you chose is a counting stat that would be inflated if you were turnover prone as a quarterback and had to throw your team out of holes you created constantly, and says nothing of efficiency or effectiveness on a per-play basis. You want Kaep to suck, you need it for your delicate worldview to hold up, so you'll go to whatever number or opinion or hypothetical that you need to conjure up to defend that. I'm over it.
And while there would most likely be a lot less of a reaction it probably wouldn't be enough to warrant a slight improvement to quarterback on a team that is in almost browns level of rebuild
5:33 I like the last chart. Three years later 7 of the QBs that were better than Kaep are no longer in the league. And of the 26 QBs that were worse than Kaep, 21 are not starting. The other 5 Cam Newton (MVP caliber that was hurt) Joe Flacco and Ryan Fitzpatrick, who both lost their starting jobs last year. Carson Wentz, and Jared Goff who were rookies. Maybe it's just that the NFL stands for Not For Long.
1 year update Cam Newton was cut. Joe Flacco is gone and Fitzmagic is a 1 year stop gap/future back up. Also look at players who were better Eli Manning Retired Jameis Winston Cut Tyrod Taylor was cut and picked up as a stop gap/tank commander for the Chargers Carson Palmer Retired Trevor Siemein No clue but no one saying he should be a starting QB Phillip Rivers Cut Alex Smith Traded Sam Bradford Constantly injured out of the league Shaun Hill Retired and was a backup Andy Dalton Cut Finally hitting the first player who is still on the team they played for 4 years ago Russel Wilson (Who had a meh stat year that year but was still streets ahead of Kaep).
Update: Wentz led the Eagles to the playoffs, and while he was injured, was instrumental in their SB. Meanwhile, Goff led the Rams to a SB despite being meh but couldn't win it. Cam is pretty injured and is probably done for real. Fitz retired. Flacco is backup for the Jets - he played a few games with Zach out and won one. Wentz looks not good on the Commanders. And Goff looks passable on the Lions. So, the rookies are the only ones starting, and Flacco is the only one not a rookie still in the league. Kaep could've easily been starting for, say, the Seahawks or the Browns right now. But, you know. Edit: Well, maybe not Seahawks with Geno balling out. But what about the Jets? They went to a 4th-string in one game. Or Dolphins, who maybe could have used him over a 7th-round rookie. Even his 49ers could've used him, just because they needed anybody in that championship game. If he was still in the league, there's a decent chance he saw at least a little play. But instead, no, 'tis no to be.
4:56 Tom Brady already broke this chart, but since it was published he has: ‘17 2-1in the playoffs, lost Super Bowl but threw for a playoff record 505 yards ‘18 3-0 in the playoffs, won Super Bowl ‘19 0-1 in the playoffs ‘20 4-0 in the playoffs That’s 11 games, 9 playoff wins, 3 Super Bowl appearances, and 2 Super Bowl wins Un. Hi Jon/whoever at secret base reads comments, thinking about this episode after some recent events with baseball players doing some Trump stuff on the field during the game. Wondering when they’ll get pseudo banned from the league like Colin did, but if they don’t though… maybe an episode about political actions among athletes, and their consequences for athletes, would be an interesting topic (why is Colin gone but the homophobic hockey players aren’t? The conservative baseball players aren’t? What’s going on here? Why are these different ?)
Rewatching this after watching the Jets start Trevor Siemien and play Luke Falk after Siemien gets injured. In the same week that Drew Brees sustained an injury that will put him out for six weeks. And the same week that Ben Roethlisberger sustained a season-ending injury. And the same week that Ryan Fitzpatrick went 11/21 for 89 yards, 0 TDs, and 3 picks A week after Nick Foles sustained a season ending injury.
JETS- why would they sign a QB when there franchise QB should be back by week 5. Saints- they traded for teddy bridgewater and regularly use taysom hill. it would be a waste of a trade steelers-they drafted mason rudolph for a reason. they also got rid of atonio brown because of the media attention he brought. why would they bring in someone who does the same thing as brown. it would also be a waste of a draft pick. dolphins-they traded for young QB josh rosen. he hasn't started yet why would they give up on him now. Jaguars-they too drafted a QB for a reason and he was solid in his first two games. every thing you mentioned can be dissolved to either a waste of a trade, draft pick and money since there coming back soon. please look into these things before you write them.
They'll never let him comeback. Its billionaires selecting the most athletic young african americans from a group and then trading them around for money so they can perform physical feats to make them more money. Slave owners don't like their property having opinions about racial injustices, its bad for their business model.
Not the first video pointing out this information but none have been this tightly packed and nailing things home . Want to thank Beej from LRR for recommended this when they reported on Kaep in madden
I completely understand where u r coming from with all the passing stats, but I think something important wasn't mentioned... a lot of kaeps passes were opened up off of play action and his threat to run. That being said, the read option style offense that he thrived on has kinda been figured out. For every scrambling QB that has been consistently successful (cam and Wilson) there have been countless others that fell out of favor since defenses actually realized how to stop zone option. Also, Kaep emerged in the height of the read option which further confused defenses. Just something that might go beyond the numbers
That's not true they haven't figured out the read option. What happened was is Kaep was placed in the pocket which gave him cover 2 defense looks instead of cover 3. So they changed his style of play.
if his offense had been "figured out" enough to lower his value as a quarterback for teams with much much worse options at the spot, the numbers would bear that out. They don't.
Nick Bosa, another 49er, recently donned a MAGA hat and interrupted his teammate's interview on live television and has received zero consequences, while Kaepernick still has not played another snap for a professional team. The NFL has shown where their priorities lie.
lol I'm been pulling an all nighter watching every video on this channel that appeals to me. I was going to suggest my teachers show the "educational" videos in class and videos that pertain to what we are learning in school as there are 10 days left of school this year and we don't do anything. When you said at the end about the teachers I was laughing a lot.
I do think Kap should be in the league, but Passer rating is a bad stat. Actually, all basic stats are bad, but I understand that you can't really compare film, and judge every QB based film because it's just not very accessible. The average passer rating is much higher now than it was in the 80's or 90's because of much more advanced offensive schemes, and less leeway for DB's in coverage. I know you used some advanced stats too, which were better but they can still have the same issues. Anyway, like I said, I do think Kap should be in the league because he is an above avearge QB, but using base statistics isn't really a good measure of how they actually played.
Even If we ignore all the variables that go into a game, and just use stats like passer rating to judge a QB, you can't tell me it's not flawed. Imagine a QB who is 20/30 for 330 yards with 0 TDs and 1 INT. 3 times he completes a pass inside the 5 yard line, but the team decides to run the ball in for 3 TD's but they only averaged 3.1 yards per run. The interception was a dropped pass from a reciever after a good pin-point throw. In total, he leads his team to 28 offensive points. The QB has a passer rating of 89.6, which is a little above league average but he definitely played better than that. Now Imagine a Qb who is also 20/30 but for 156 yards, 3 Td's and 1 INT. He only averaged 5.2 yards per pass, and his team scored 21 offensive points, averaging 5.5 yards per run. His Interception was an overthrown ball in a key situation. His passer rating is 98.8 which is "very good" even though his play was subpar. You might think that stuff like this would even out, but it gennerally doesn't, and this is just base stats with a little bit of context. None of the things I mentioned accounted for teams, scheme or other things of contextual importance in football. Even with base stats you can see how flawed QB rating is. Stuff like Yards, Td's and INT'S also don't have any context.
It’s not about his performance. But it’s also not JUST about the protest. It’s about business, and Kaep is bad for business. When you compare his performance to the negative business effects of bringing him in, he just isn’t worth it.
While all of us were wondering, " why the hell do we have to make the stupid data graphs?" Jon was thinking " Oh boi, I can make a career out of this!"
@@global8198 Decisions outside of his performance can contribute to the reason to hire him and that can arguably be counterintuitive to social justice as the nfl likes to portray itself as a partner of.
My argument has never been "he's not good enough." It's always been "he's not good enough to overcome his high asking price (especially for his downslide years between 2012 and 2015), and for the waves he'll create for the team." The reason a lot of other quarterbacks were given a chance before Colin Kaepernick is because they were already on the team, or cheap enough for the team to take a risk. It's all about risk analysis. There are only three conditions to consider. I'll label each one with a capital letter, while the lower case will be the exact opposite. (A) Kaepernick performs well enough (B) Media attention is an impediment (C) Salary cap is fine This means we have eight possible outcomes: ABC, aBC, AbC, abC, ABc, aBc, Abc, abc. In seven out of eight of those outcomes, there is some negative side-effect of hiring Kaepernick. Obviously, not every outcome is equally likely (ie: Kaepernick will likely do well enough on most teams), but then again, not each condition is equally valued among teams either. A team not concerned with media attention might be strapped for cash, so hiring Kaepernick will result in cutting a huge chunk of a trained team. A team with a lot of money might already have a reasonable option, so "well enough" might be Brady levels of performance. And a team not interested in a strong performance is...the Browns. (Sorry, had to do that, Cleveland fans.) Ultimately, there's too much risk.
Kap is 100% good enough to play in the NFL, anyone that has watched him and the NFL knows that. That being said, anyone that knows the NFL also knows that teams HATE distractions and Kap is a MAJOR distraction with his political ideologies. The argument isnt if he is good enough, the argument is if he is good enough to overcome his distraction
That may be the thing that owners are looking at, but it isn't the argument that they make in public. They know that if they made the argument that 'he's too much of a distraction' it would be picked apart faster than the 'he's not good enough' argument.
Now with the additional news of them officially black balling a peaceful hero. Took long enough, but history proves Kapernick right. Want him back still, the guy is still probably one of the best
I liked Kaepernick and still do. He wasn't cast out because of his protests - almost the entire league did that. He was cast out because nobody wants to pay $50 million a year for a guy who throws 180 yards a game and 12 touchdowns a season. He refused to take any deals. :|
You forgot that in 2012 and 2013 the Niners had an arguably legendary roster, you could’ve put anyone at QB and they would’ve been a great team. Also, Keapernick opted out of his contract, nobody cut him.
It’s almost shocking to me to hear someone who shares my accent, and he’s actually willing to look at things objectively,… Look at the numbers and the abject truths. Because they would help someone in a bad situation… In the color of their skin wouldn’t even register in their mind. But for some reason when they talk politics and social issues, they sure as hell don’t come off as levelheaded, educated, or caring folks. And it’s killing me because I love my little corner of the United States… But even the ones who are decent folks and down to earth..,. stick with the talking points, Refuse to change their opinion… And yup.... you guessed it......even though they consider themselves educated and headed… They fall on the political right on EVERY SINGLE issue that matters. Regardless of the facts or how the numbers can disprove their opinions in seconds.. I just don’t know what to do anymore honestly
He could walk on a field now and be the 20-25th best QB in the league. Still holds the single-game record for most rushing yards by a QB, and he did it in the playoffs.
He was on a 4 year decline, and couldn’t read a defense for his life tbh. He might have had 2 or 3 decent seasons left. His ego and idiocy are definitely the deciding factor in why no one wants him though.

in calc, I felt like the answers would be; -1, 0, 1, or infinity. I also always had a hunch "C" was more common on multiple choice questions. I had no idea "12" was the most common number. Lets test this theory; (number of MLB Games in a Season / Number of MLB Teams) * (number of NHL Games in a Season / Number of NHL Teams) - (Number of NFL Teams / Number of NFL games in Season) - (number of NFL games in a season)^2 / (number of NFL teams)^2
I mean, he got benched twice last year. In favor of... Blaine Gabbert. So yeah, he was really hard to watch, the whole team was as much as I like them tbh, but kaepernick just isn't that good
As a 49er fan since before I left the womb. Kaep's stats were skewed by the fact the system was adjusted to make sure he had high percentage opportunities. Any QB in a system designed to mask their faults as well as only running high percentage plays, is going to make the QB look better. The offense was boring, unable to score, and left the defense in bad situations. No team wants to pay above average for a QB who has to be protected by the system, has been wildly inaccurate at times, has issues holding on to the ball in the pocket, and separates himself from the team. A QB is supposed to be a leader, doing things that alienate you from your team mates is about the worst thing a QB can do. Can he play in the NFL? Obviously yes. Does he deserve starter money? No, he is an average QB. He turned down the Broncos because he thought he should be starting. How about sign and try wining the starting job? So he opted out of a contract and then turned one down. So he could still be in the NFL, if he wanted. But I think that would get in the way of his "I'm a victim" stance.
Interesting video! The NFL is definitely... weird sometimes, especially with stats. Last year, Jefferson and Cousins were leading in multiple stats despite not only losing a lot of games, but also were both out for injuries and STILL were holding the lead for those offensive stats for a few weeks which is crazy... I see why people including myself love sports because there are so many metrics and stats to pour over and sometimes, there isn't necessarily a correlation between stats and "doing good" whatever that might entail... These players usually start slowing down in their late 20s/Early 30s so its always uncharted waters for performance, injury, etc. There is obviously also no 'I' in team. Sometimes you'll have phenomenal players, with awful chemistry that leads to puzzling outcomes in games. This is especially true now, but the standard is constantly rising for these athletes (especially QBs) and honestly being "decent" isn't good enough anymore and I feel like this applies to Colin. Obviously most teams want to avoid any controversy regardless of the issue, but him being a "decent" QB while comparing other starting QB's with worse stats isn't necessarily a good metric to go off of (but I know this video is purely talking about the faults of the stats argument for why colin was blackballed so I'm not hating on you or anything). It's kind of a crazy rabbit hole that could be debated for centuries, but I also want to point out that (SOME) of his supporters seem to be a bit delusional. To be fair, he did go to the SB, had some good wins, etc, but even today i've seen people still calling for him to play again, acting like he was Brady Jr. I think you could probably make a list of thousands of names of "decent" professional athletes that had their careers come to an end earlier than expected... Lots of players and QBs go to the superbowl then completely fall off... (I know there were other problems on the team, but the 49s went from the superbowl to a 2-14 season in 3 years... that is a clear indication you need to revamp the team asap lol) It just opens up a can of worms with that and it all becomes hypothetical at this point, and one thing is for certain, these teams will never bank on hypotheticals to ensure their team's victory. Great topic to discuss and thank you!
Its not that Kap isn't good enough.. Its never been he's not good enough. Its not about the protests. This is 100% the media circus that would show up everyday all season long. Kap is not worth the headache. The most amazing part about this is the political mirror opposite in Tim Tebow found himself in the same position. Now Tebow isn't as good a QB as Kap is, there's no doubt about that. However, just like Kap the only reason he's not on a football team is because of the media clown car. The reality is people wanna fit this to a political narrative so bad but when really it's all about football.
Cool video. It’s very simple that he’s not in the league because he kneeled. He’s not a star but he’s far better than alternatives and could have arguably started for some teams. I just find it ironic that people are more averse to an activist than a wife beater lol. They even try to make dumber down arguments about tickets and revenue which they cannot grasp in the slightest

Yeah but QBs like Goff Wentz and Brissett were on there who are better than Kaep today
@@soapdish3345 Pretty sure he hasn't had a single workout, he hasn't made to negotiations yet.
This has aged very well in light of recent events and I'm glad this was recommended to me
of the QBs he was better than in 2016 that weren't rookies, Cam Newton is the only one that is a starting QB and he was cut from the team he was playing on...
Of the QBs he was worse than You have
Tyrod Taylor Tank Commander
Carson Palmer and Eli Manning Declining Veterans who are retired
and players Like Trevian Siemons or Alex Smith (Traded), Phillip Rivers (Cut), Andy Dalton (Cut), Ryan Tannehil (Cut)...
So that tells me something about Kaep he wasn't that good. He was better than career backups and rookie QBs and a handful of QBs who had statistically bad years compared to their career.
@@TheBanshee90 Kaep isn't that good because every qb in the league sucked with him then huh
Checkpoint ep 400 recommended me to watch this.
@@cadman02 Same here! Interesting recommendation from LRR, nice.
In the NFL, mediocre to above average is worth starting. You know, since that means you are better than half the league's QBs.
Check his Twitter feed, that's exactly what he's saying.
if the green bay packers miss the playoffs, yes, they should feel really stupid
Kaep wouldve kept Green Bay afloat until Rodgers came back.
Minkki82 Whatever helps you sleep easier.😂
I think he is good enough, but all the negative attention would be bad for business, and the nfl is a business. The NFL can't risk more division in the fan base because rating are down. I think if he didn't have to push his agenda, he would be in the nfl. It isn't about what he said, but what he did, and many people dislike his kneeling for the flag.

Just because he has talent doesn’t mean he fits well in a team
LukeMeister I agree with you but what else is there to look at? A Qb either passes, rushes, or hands it off
Thatguy Man You have to actually watch I guy play. There was a little bit of that in this video
I also do agree with what you said before.

He didn't want to play.
@@RockinRobb01 You reply to a video that objectively displays at least 5 different dimensions where Kaepernick is a top 10 quarterback by just subjectively saying, on your own authority with no evidence at all, that basically every guy in the NFL is better than him. @@RockinRobb01 of course. The problem is the stats. Shaun Hill Retired and was a backup
Andy Dalton Cut
Finally hitting the first player who is still on the team they played for 4 years ago
Russel Wilson (Who had a meh stat year that year but was still streets ahead of Kaep).
Update:
Wentz led the Eagles to the playoffs, and while he was injured, was instrumental in their SB.
4:56 Tom Brady already broke this chart, but since it was published he has:
‘17 2-1in the playoffs, lost Super Bowl but threw for a playoff record 505 yards
‘18 3-0 in the playoffs, won Super Bowl
‘19 0-1 in the playoffs
‘20 4-0 in the playoffs

I completely understand where u r coming from with all the passing stats, but I think something important wasn't mentioned... a lot of kaeps passes were opened up off of play action and his threat to run. That being said, the read option style offense that he thrived on has kinda been figured out. For every scrambling QB that has been consistently successful (cam and Wilson) there have been countless others that fell out of favor since defenses actually realized how to stop zone option. Also, Kaep emerged in the height of the read option which further confused defenses. Just something that might go beyond the numbers
CocoaButterQA2 also at 29 he’s just not as fast and his arm doesn’t cover his aging legs
Runningbacks and running quarter backs have a hard time at 30 to make it in the nfl
Dominique Boyd I have a feeling I'll b pretty disappointed. Everyone would b smart not to press that link
Update: Bosa was fined $11,255 by the NFL.

True, but “game film party” would be far harder to do cool typography for haha

Someone help me out. I'm trying to figure who is the dot at 1:49 that has such a high passer rating at the age of 36
Brady/Manning I would think.
Can't be Brady, he hasn't retired yet, I can see it being Manning though
0:31 Hear that Pats fans? Greatest QB on Earth!
My jimmies have been rustled.
This has now been proven, and the nfl has to pay for it. Awesome.
How can anybody be forced to hire him? Makes no sense to me
@@global8198 Decisions outside of his performance can contribute to the reason to hire him and that can arguably be counterintuitive to social justice as the nfl likes to portray itself as a partner of.
(A) Kaepernick performs well enough
(B) Media attention is an impediment
(C) Salary cap is fine
This means we have eight possible outcomes: ABC, aBC, AbC, abC, ABc, aBc, Abc, abc.
I enjoyed watching Kap play. Way to validate my man
Kap is 100% good enough to play in the NFL, anyone that has watched him and the NFL knows that.
Vernon Davis was overrated and so was Crabtree
When he has a winning record you say the team carried him, when he has a losing record you use it as proof that he's falling off.
Let’s talk about the mail. Can we talk about the mail Mac? I’ve been dying to talk about the mail.
It’s almost shocking to me to hear someone who shares my accent, and he’s actually willing to look at things objectively,… Look at the numbers and the abject truths.
IV never watched a NFL game, and I’m honestly not a sports fan, I’ve actually never owned a television. But I really enjoy your content. And it’s refreshing to hear somebody Who sounds like me, but isn’t a complete and utter disappointment to the human race. Don’t misunderstand me… It’s not like they’re all racist or something or they all consider themselves far right… A lot of the folks around here in north Georgia and metro Atlanta I consider salt of the earth folks. Because they would help someone in a bad situation… In the color of their skin wouldn’t even register in their mind.
But for some reason when they talk politics and social issues, they sure as hell don’t come off as levelheaded, educated, or caring folks. And it’s killing me because I love my little corner of the United States…
But even the ones who are decent folks and down to earth..,. stick with the talking points, Refuse to change their opinion… And yup.... you guessed it......even though they consider themselves educated and headed… They fall on the political right on EVERY SINGLE issue that matters. Regardless of the facts or how the numbers can disprove their opinions in seconds.. I just don’t know what to do anymore honestly
Great video Jon you should bring Pretty Good back, that's a great series
He could walk on a field now and be the 20-25th best QB in the league. Still holds the single-game record for most rushing yards by a QB, and he did it in the playoffs.
It was 8 years ago😐
Yea, the NFL really Blacklisted this Guy over supporting a protest, the most American thing you can do... Smh
He was on a 4 year decline, and couldn’t read a defense for his life tbh. He might have had 2 or 3 decent seasons left. His ego and idiocy are definitely the deciding factor in why no one wants him though.
@@PlanetGamingOfficial the fact that you had to click on this video and then scroll here and you still say this is just breathtakingly stupid.
@@cnking27 So only the brainless white knights that shouldn't exist at all can watch this video?
Some folks still can't seem to grasp that you can leave a comment on a video without watching a second of it Lol
@@coolguy02536 that's kind of like me not knowing wtf a "white knight" is and also not giving enough of a crap about you or your comment to find out.
No, it's not. It would be if I did that and also argued with you and created an entire hypothesis to fit my preconceived notions about people with cartoon profile pics who say things like "white knight" and talked over you as if I know about the thing you're talking about better than you do without presenting a shred of evidence.
Truth is still not up for debate, and you can't create it by arguing loudly. Sorry.
😶 ok you changed my mind about him
Dammit this is fantastic. Well done as always, Jon.
in calc, I felt like the answers would be; -1, 0, 1, or infinity.
Even on a true or false question I don't know, my man Jon bois got me hooked up
I'm going with 12
I mean, he got benched twice last year. In favor of... Blaine Gabbert. So yeah, he was really hard to watch, the whole team was as much as I like them tbh, but kaepernick just isn't that good
bench/start decisions are subjective. stats are not.
12-1 like to dislike ratio. And it looks like ALL the dislikes took to the comment section.
